Your Two Cents: Playing Matchmaker With Divas & Knockouts
“Your Two Cents” is our interactive feature where we gauge the opinions of our Twitter and Facebook followers on different discussions in women’s wrestling.
This week, we’re asking this: Rosa Mendes and AJ Lee‘s recent love matches have us wondering: if you were to play matchmaker, who would you pair the current Divas and Knockouts with in a storyline? Erin A Porter | I don’t know why, but as soon as Damien Sandow came to WWE I thought him and Beth Phoenix should be a ‘couple’. But oh well, guess that’s not going to happen. |

Josue Guzman | I’d want to create a storyline that will some how transition Naomi and Cameron‘s role as valets for Brodus Clay to actual in ring competitors. So why not create a love triangle involving the Funkasaurus clan? Have one of the girls out dance the other, an impressed Brodus begins to show extra attention to the out performer which enrages the other until they duke it out in the ring. |

@KatieFJ07 | I would love to see Eve Torres and CM Punk being paired up. Their segments together made me start thinking about how great they’d be. I could see Eve going down to the arena with him and distract his opponents. They’d be the best heel couple since Edge in Lita. #DreamPairing! |

Luiz Giem | Current Divas division is not the same. Besides AJ I really don’t feel that they (the rest of the Divas) could be pairing with a main-event wrestler. Maybe Paige from NXT could debut like CM Punk’s girlfriend attacking AJ during a Cena vs. Punk match and then she could start a better feud than Vickie Guerrero/Dolph. She’s a wrestler and then we could have some Diva action between Paige and AJ. |

That’s so funny about Sandow & Phoenix. They were paired up for quite some time in developmental during Sandow’s “Idol” days.
My favorite from above is the pairing of Punk & Eve. Serious Lita/Edge flashbacks now.
I would love to see Del Rey on screen w/ Cesaro! Wishful thinking.

Paige and Wade Barrett, and not just because they’re both British. I think Paige has a sort of badass, tough, take no prisoners attitude that would go well with Wade’s persona. So much of his gimmick is based around being this legitimately tough former bare-knuckle boxer, so he would never work with someone who couldn’t gel with that. Paige totally seems like that type who could hold her own in any situation and I think she would totally work well with Wade.

That would be a really awesome addition to the division. I’ve never once heard of a championship like that, granted a mixed tag couple holds/did hold the tag champ belts in TNA, never have I heard of one specifically for mixed tags.

Funny you should mention A Mixed Tag Championship because i’ve been thinking that’s what needs to happen to the Knockouts Tag titles. They are basically that now anyway.

Paige and Punk seems like the popular vote… Imagine how awesome she would look with Reigns, Ambrouse, and Rollins! Badass! I wish they had an uptight character like Molly Holly. She could be the manager for Rhodes Scholars!

Back in the ECW days Ryder and Rosa were gold together and many loved them.
However, pairing her with Alberto now it would be the best choice and I really hope it happens.
Aksana and Antonio worked well as a pair but I guess that Sara got tired watching her boyfriend kissing a other girl 24/7? :p
Also don’t understand why so many people want Alicia and Justin as a pair?
In my opinion they don’t match at all. Unless of course you guys are going by the hair only. :p
Anyway, this is the way I would pair the current main roster divas:
- Natalya/Tyson
- Kaitlyn/Justin (or Dolph if she turns heel)
- Rosa/Alberto
- AJ/Cody
- Layla/Miz (if she turns heel)
- Aksana/Sheamus (if she turns face or he heel)
- Eve/Punk
- Tamina/Wade
- Naomi/Kofi
- Cameron/Primetime Players
- Alicia/R-Truth
Well at least these pairings could work well.
There isn’t much left that would do a good pairing on the main roster anyway. :p
