You know, it may be a random Tuesday morning, on a random cold day here in Random, Alabama, (after it was 75 degrees all last week and yesterday -_- [that's like 24 degrees for all you Europeans with Celcius as your temp scale...]), but I discovered something so beautifully random this morning in my haste to wake up, get ready for work, and throw the Redux together before I had to leave. In my intense search for YouTube videos and doing my best to piece together results, I paused. In my kitchen was the most wonderful thing I could ever imagine; a Little Debbie chocolate Christmas tree cake. Everyone knows that Christmas tree cakes are the best snack cake ever. They’re simple little cakes shaped like a Christmas tree with sparkly sprinkles on them. We also know that Fudge Sticks are the best regular Little Debbie snack cake on the market. So what do you get when you get the bright idea to put them together? You get a box of five individually wrapped cakes that are like Heaven in your mouth. I’m not kidding. Their perfection brings tears to my eyes. So while you people are upset because Hostess is going out of business and you’ll never be able to eat a Twinkie again, ever, I’m going to sit back and enjoy my Christmas tree cakes. They’re only available to me one time a year and that’s just as heart-wrenching for me, as it is for all of you Twinkie lovers.

I just felt the need to get that off my chest.

Anyway, Happy Holidays, readers! Let’s get right into the action from last night’s edition of Raw. It’s truly a pain trying to find videos of this stuff now, especially when I’m not able to watch it the night of. So I truly hope you appreciate the lengths I go to to put these recaps together. I’m a woman of the people, and it’s my duty, but still. When you give your thanks during this time of year, take time out to be thankful that you have someone like me, your Khaleesi, working diligently to put together a post for you to rip apart in comments.

You’re welcome.

Kicking us off today is an out-of-ring segment featuring the head honcho of the WWE, Vince McMahon, with our favorite cougar, Queen Vickie Guerrero. He tricks our poor Queen into booking Prince Dawlf against that soul-less, sexy Irish ginger, Sheamus. But that’s not the only idea Mr. McMahon has.

So Queen Vickie versus AJ Lee, eh? I’m thinking it’s a little to early in this feud for that, but I’m willing to keep an open mind. I highly doubt it’s going to be much of a match either way you slice it. This crowd already seems kind of dull, so that’s going to work against them unless it heats up later on in the show. But the match announcements, Vince, and Vickie didn’t get the reactions they usually get it. I absolutely hate when crowds suck the energy out of the arena. Fingers crossed it picks up. Vickie and AJ have a great thing going right now, and I don’t want the crowd to ruin what should be a pretty hot little encounter.

The announcement might not have been what Queen Vickie wanted to hear, as her reaction makes that pretty obvious, but it certainly made AJ’s day. She didn’t hesitate to let people know about it, either.

Not only does AJ feel the need to talk to Aksana about her feelings, she also runs up and hugs her former bestie, Kaitlyn. AJ is over the moon and foaming at the mouth at the chance to get her hands on Vickie in a legal match and she even goes as far as telling Kaitlyn that she is going to rip the Queen apart. AJ also wants to tell her “friend”, Captain America John Cena, about what’s going on. Kaitlyn points out that Cena is in the locker room, and AJ just beams. AJ, being AJ, waltzes right up into the lion’s den, and Cena immediately goes to shield her from all the naked men that I can only imagine are walking around in there. He seems kind of interested, but more horrified she would invade their privacy like that, but he takes her outside to talk.

What else do I need to say?

I feel like AJ and Cena have some weird relationship going on. I think he’s attracted to her crazy, and I think she’s playing a character that needs the attention of a man. It sorta works for me. I may not understand it, and I may still question it, but hell, I’m just going with it. It is what it is, and since I no longer get to watch One Life To Live and General Hospital (thanks ABC… I’m still bitter especially since you didn’t even bring Natalie to General Hospital with John), I’ll just sit back and watch. Maybe John Cena can be the Johnny Zacchara to AJ’s Lulu Spencer? The Brody to AJ’s Jess/Tess/Bess?

In the midst of the madness, there’s a Diva’s match. Our champion, Eve Torres, takes on Alicia Fox.

Not sure if I can even properly judge this match since it was so short, but Alicia (despite her ring gear) looked great against Eve. They were pretty spot on, and didn’t seem to be trying to cram in as many moves as possible like some do in the short allotted time. That was nice to see. I think Alicia is really underrated when it comes to wrestling and Eve has kind of taken over Beth’s roll as the girl who can make anyone look good in the ring. I don’t like the neckbreaker as a finisher, but the aftermath of the match was BRILLIANT.

Oh man, I got such a laugh out of Eve posing with her title over Alicia’s fallen body. That was incredible and just so damn heel of her. I think I want to start randomly posing in the midst of chaos with my Divas Championship. I just need to find my own ringside photographer now…

Hmmm.

Solid little match, I guess. I would love to see something lengthy from these two. I want to see how well they work together in more than a 45-second time frame.

Speaking of matches, AJ versus Queen Vickie is up next but not before Vickie gets a little help warming up. Sadly for me, and probably the rest of you who read my stuff, it’s not Prince Dawlf who’s helping her get ready. It’s Hornswoggle and The Great Khali. Yes, you read that right.

“I thought this was supposed to be a family show.” – Vince McMahon.

Beautiful.

Let’s get on with the match now.

When Vickie brings out Brad Maddox to ref this match, you instantly know how it’s going to end. It ended with a screw job and that shocks no one. It was an entertaining segment and you know, I think it ended how it should have. AJ clearly got cheated out of a win and that just adds more fuel to this fire. It’s far from over between Vickie and AJ, and I like that. They are both doing so much for each other. I loved AJ’s breakdown at the end. She plays the most interesting character. I love how she seemingly has a split personality. One minute, she’s nice and calm, sweet even – and you know she’s living on the edge. Then, she just snaps all of a sudden. She tears things up. Justin Roberts, bless him, gets slapped in the face just because.

I love this.

I never, ever thought that a three-second WrestleMania kiss between Daniel Bryan and AJ Lee would evolve into this. I don’t think I could love it anymore if I tried. The great thing about this, is that isn’t even over. Guess who was there to console AJ after her loss and her breakdown? Mmmhmmm!

Well, I don’t guess her breakdown was over seeing as how Cena had to calm her down. Give that man some kind of badge of honor. He certainly didn’t hesitate to wrap AJ in those strong arms of his and let her cry into his broad, massive chest. Oh God. This storyline… I can’t.

This episode of Raw, oh my. I watched nothing of it but the Diva bits and I have to say that all of it just left me wanting more. As a Diva fan, I’m used to this but it sucks being so used to it, you know? TLC could be an interesting pay-per-view, that’s for sure. The pre-show will feature a Divas battle royal that will determine the number one contender to Eve’s championship and I would love for that title match to also take place on the show. It would be cool to see AJ win, then somehow get screwed mid-match by Vickie and/or Tamina. It would kind of give us a chance to see Eve and Vickie work together a bit, and it would open up a slew of possibilities.

That said, I also want to see Kaitlyn get another crack at the belt. I think she deserves it after working with Eve so well. She doesn’t necessarily need to win the title, but I want the WWE to keep Kaitlyn relevant and winning that battle royal will do her wonders. AJ doesn’t need to win it, she IS relevant. Kaitlyn needs to continue to emerge as a force and a star, and she’s my pick to win.

That’s it for now. We’ll be back come Sunday for TLC. Until then…

Khaleesi, out!

  1. i was just shocked that we got to see 2 diva matches, despite vickie not being a wrestler, she sure knows what to sort of do but who cares if she can’t sell or just slap the face off her opponent, she is just amazing!

in terms of the battle royal at the preshow TLC, I see AJ winning it but I want Natalya to win, face Eve on the PPV or at the RR then Eve feuds with AJ through ‘Mania season.

Is there a video with the whole match of Alicia and Eve? The only videos I found on youtube they are already in the middle of the match, going outside the ring..

But I liked what I’ve seen. The ending with Eve was hilarious..
I hope she keeps this with all divas that lose to her.. and I’d die if she appears from nowhere with the photographer after a male’s match, posing next to the loser :P

And about AJ vs Vickie.. sorry, but I was too distracted with Brad Maddox.. lol i think i’m in love.. hahahah

  3. I dunno know about y’all, but I LOVED Alicia Fierce’s outfit, and I do find her to be underrated as a wrestler. Tragic. I’m gonna cut my Alicia lovefest short. Back to the match itself, I liked it for what it was, and heel Eve kind of reminds me of a Maryse-Madison Rayne hybrid, thrown in with some cunniving bitchiness. The post match photo shoot was hilarious to me, I hope that’s how she beats all of her opponents from here on out. The AJ/Vickie match I find myself really really liking. Say what you want about Vickie’s skills between the ropes, but she looked pretty good against AJ and convincingly dominated her, thanks in large part to her size advantage. The whole AJ tearing up the scenery and slapping the piss out of that sexy beast Justin Roberts was just gold. I hope she ditches the guys over time and she can become an active member of the Women’s Division again since she’s already over. Great night!!

I wish that AJ and her cringe worthy acting and her over selling and her overrated ass would disappeared from my screen -.-

And I don´t care if someone comments ” Oh finally a Diva is getting spotlight…bla bla bla”, I´m not forced to like her, and I actually always thought that she was overrated, but now I´m really shore she is!

And the last thing I want is to her winning the battle royal and get the title, she doesn´t need it! It needs to be either Kailtyn or Natalya!

About Eve, I love her, she is so talented and so natural, and she is really getting on her carachter, I hope she keeps it up, and that WWE doesn´t mess it up!

    puppies Reply:

What makes her overrated? The fans like her, no ones claiming she’s the best or even a good anything, but she’s made a connection with the crowd which is undeniable.

    Kaledrina Reply:

i think there’s a huuge difference between somebody being overrated and being overexposed. kinda like how there’s a difference between something being botch and something being sloppy.

i figure aj is overexposed.. i mean i frickin love chocolate biscuits dipped in tea but if that’s all i’m eating for three days straight, i’ma gonna get real bored real quick lol.

    Choko Reply:

People on this site really needs to learn the difference between overutilized, overrated and overexposed.

    Payne13 Reply:

She IS overrated because she is a terrible actress who is called a good one by fanboys that tries to attribute her allege popularity to her being talented rather than the fact she has been forced-fed to the audience in one major angle after another therefore, they are bound to react to her.

Just because you don’t agree with someone’s criticism I don’t see why you must question their understanding of a very simple word. AJ’s acting and entertainment value IS overrated; that is, it IS NOT as good as people claim! Even my 9 year old niece laughed and mentioned how bad it was.

    redsandman99 Reply:

This whole thing comes down to a matter of an opinion. Some people think AJ is overrated, some people don’t. I don’t necessarily think that her getting over is because of her being force fed on people since quite frankly the audience does have the power to reject someone WWE is trying to push.

    Payne13 Reply:

It is, of course, a matter of opinion but a bias opinion, either way, isn’t equal to an objective one. My friend who loves Megan Fox – because of her beauty – thinks that is a talented actress…..

While people have the power to reject, the crowd would always respond when their favourite wrestler is involved. With AJ, she has been involved (literally — in the storyline sense) with former champ and popular heel Daniels, current champ Punk, former champ Kane (dated one, kissed all three, pushed two through a table) and now, former champ Ziggler and the WWE’s biggest star Cena (kissed). Plus she is feud with Vicky! ANY wrestler with this kind of push would get a response due to mere proximity to the major star and what she did to/with them

I use to be a fan of AJ myself, but everything that was good about her – an up-and-coming girl-next-door-wrestler – is gone and has been replaced by a bad actress who wants power and a boyfriend (any former or current champ will do, it seems)

    Jack Newport Reply:

Thank god I’m not only one that realizes how overrated AJ Lee is, and how WWE has been forcing her down our throats from the moment she debuted.

It’s refreshing to know the other people are finally realizing this about her on Raw in 2012, when I already saw this back on NXT 3 in 2010.

    gl83 Reply:

How has WWE been forcing her down our throats since she debuted?

On NXT she basically played second banana alongside the other girls to the Kaitlyn/Vickie angle. When she finally got called up she didn’t do anything but random tag matches or serving as the DOD’s personal jobber, unless you think being Hornswoggle’s secret admirer was great news for a WWE Diva. Hell, even when she got paired with Daniel Bryan, she was a background character throughout the pairing and the purpose of the pairing was to get Bryan over as a Heel. She really only became a focal point this past Summer.

When we’ve had Eve getting storyline after storyline being paired with popular midcarders(R-Truth, Zack Ryder) as well as popular Divas(Kelly Kelly) and numerous title runs the past 2-3 years. If you think AJ’s been force-fed then so has Eve, so has LayCool, so has Trish Stratus and so has Lita and so on and so forth.

Its very rare that WWE does two diva matches in one night but I’ll say that the Eve vs Alicia was pretty solid when the Vickie vs AJ was something I’ve been waiting for ever since this feud has started.

the match is longer then the one on youtube , plus 24 degrees celcius is very hot not cold

    hado Reply:

wouldn’t say it’s hot, I’m from Australia and that is not hot, lol. Especially in Summer where it gets to around 40-45 degrees celsius. I would say 24 is nice.

24 degrees is what I would like to have right now here in Germany instead of the -10 degrees we had at sunday and the between zero and -4 we have right now. x_X

I love the One Life to Live and General Hospital references! xD

Moving foward, I was pleased to see two Diva matches for Raw. I agree that assigning Maddox as the referee for the AJ vs Vickie match made it too predictable what the outcome would be. Then again Vickie isn’t considered a wrestler so there was only so much that could’ve been to secure a victory for her over AJ, which was the purpose of the match.

As for TLC, I’m predicting a victory for Kaityln following up the whole “Who attacked Kaityln scenario.”

  11. Eve is so fine when she smiles and laughs at losers hahaha fuuuuuck!!! :P

AJ always gets me she’s so good at doing her thing
BTW I still love Natalya impersonating Eve haha it was funny! I want more Layla Natalya and Kate!! MOAR!!

  12. charovnica

Haha the aftermath of the Eve/Alicia match … Ho things change over time. One time you’re the passed out victim ,other days you’re the one taking pictures with the passed out victim.

About AJ/Vickie- Very good for a match including a person that is not a wrestler. This only compliments both women. About the complains of how AJ is wrestling…she’s crazy she don’t have to wrestle well it won’t make sense. So yeah, you’ll see more of those slaps & take downs till things evolve naturally.
I just loved her freakout! That slap was vicious! Loved this!

About the Battle Royal at TLC …I kind of think this is the start of the thing that WWE was doing on the house shows…Triple threat in which AJ wins and Vickie restarts the match. It’ll be interesting and it’ll keep the AJ vs Eve one on one match for later..like let’s say WM. Till WM the smart thing would be Eve to be the mentor of some of the bad chicks that she’ll use to face AJ and weaken her just in time for their match.Let them have some tag matches in which we’ll see a reunited Chick Busters.Once AJ wins we can have a AJ vs Tamina, a AJ vs Natalya,a AJ vs Kaytlin storyline with no problem.

  13. shannymac

Eve’s photo op thing reminded me too much of Melina, but that might just be me. Glad to see her back, though, and the match was solid.

AJ vs Vickie was fine in theory, but I didn’t like that Vickie tossed AJ around so much. AJ may be tiny, but she’s still a trained wrestler and she shouldn’t be taking that many shots from someone like Vickie. They should have had her dominate the match and then get screwed over by Brad Maddox and lose her shit.

    redsandman99 Reply:

Vickie also tossed around Trish for a bit in their couple matches together and got some offense on Kelly as well (not counting her matches against Kaitlyn since she wasn’t much better than Vickie really when they had them. So yeah, I guess its just kind of a thing.

  14. redsandman99

For a two and a half minute match, Alicia and Eve made the most of it. I loved the photo op at the end that Eve did. It’s something different and I actually hope it turns into more of a thing.

The AJ/Vickie match was fine by me since it just really continued their feud. And they’ll probably use it as a way for Maddox to “officially” get signed on the main roster so it works on a lot of ends.

Cena’s facial expressions in reaction to AJ were priceless. They were total “oh my god what have i gotten myself into”.

  15. Nostalgia

Yea she obviously didn’t see the whole match because it was more than 2:17

  16. SweeneyTodd

The poor little girl AJ think is just annoying. Everytime i see her i wanna bunch her in the face. They overused her so much, i am sick and tired of her. Reason i will not watch the TLC pre show and everytime from now on she is on tv i go to the toilet or switch the channal.

  20. Looking Glass

Eve’s ‘photo op’ was just so meh. Melina did it years ago and given her gimmick, it made sense whereas this just seems like a bad rehash with her panto heel gimmick.

  21. DarknessRuler

Eve vs Alicia was GREAT. They made Alicia look like someone who could challenge Eve and I will NOT be surprised if Alicia wins the battle royal just so Eve can have a filler feud before the big one with AJ.

Err… no gurl, it’s time for someone else to go after Eve now. Losing 4 times in a row will only make Kaitlyn seem weak. Don’t you know how pro wrestling works?

I totally get the users who say that Cryssi is the dumbest writer on here now.

  23. scarlet spider

As is now traditional with Diva-Dirt, to glance at the write up above might suggest that RAW was overflowing with Diva action last night.

However, the ACTUAL write-up for last nights raw goes as follows….

Eve and . Alicia have a two minute filler match that no-one cares about.

AJ Lee’s wrestling talents continue to be wasted in a gimmick… I’m not even going to call it a match… with a non-wrestler, before we go back to her on/off generic ‘crazy’ persona and her other non-wrestling role as Cena’s sort-of girlfriend.

And that’s it. And yet, a site that claims to be ‘The Womens Wrestling Bible’ continues to give this company more coverage than ANY other actual women’s wrestling promotion.

    Raekon Reply:

They just reporting everything they are coming across and the WWE has the most things going on?

    Ever thought of that?

I never saw them leaving out any indie companys ippv or title changes news and such.

They are also covering TNAs changes, matches and everything weekly and if something takes place often even daily like they do with the WWE.

You might wanna check the news about Lufistos title win if you don’t believe it.

Other than that they are having a possibility for everyone of us to send any news we might come across so they can feature them.

    Choko Reply:

Oh please, the match was fine. If Audrey and Aksana had the same match, you’d be all over it.

    Looking Glass Reply:

WWE is the most available wrestling product in the world…if you want some no names in some gymnasium (capacity 10) in some town no one’s ever heard of, grab your mobile and film it yourself, then go write it up. Simple.

  24. Raekon

I honestly didn’t like the match.

It had some miscommunication and at parts looked as if both girls didn’t knew what to do with each other.

What I liked was Alicias funny gear and Eves “photoshooting” at the end though.
Also the fact that it wasn’t a real squash match.

The Vickie vs AJ “match” served its purpose.
However, did the creatives forget what happened last week?

Didn’t vickie say that Brad would get a contract with the WWE IF he wins his match?

Well he didn’t win and after his intereferense in punks match at hell in a cell he obvioulsly lost his Ref position aswell.

I know it would spoil the “surprise” effect to have a small segment prior to the Vickie vs AJ match in which Vickie hires him back on his old position, but it would at least explain things a little better.

  25. why is the divas battle royal in the pre-show? They should’ve just set it up on the episode of Smackdown BEFORE the Pay-per-view!
