Welcome readers to the first Raw Redux of the new year! In my opinion, 2012 was kind of a breakout year for the Divas, more specifically AJ Lee and Eve Torres. I feel like it was a step in the right direction for the division as a whole. The WWE are learning that not everyone has to be a wrestler, and they’re taking time to give different people an opportunity. Both Layla and Kaitlyn had great moments this past year, and what they’re doing in FCW/NXT is incredible. Fingers crossed that 2013 is the year the Divas are given the green light to do what they’re capable of, and the time to do it. We all know they can do it. My wish for them is that they get a chance to finally do it.
Anyway, lets get on with show – the very last one of 2012! Tonight, Vickie Guerrero decided that every title would be defended which means Eve would be in action at some point. And of course, there’s always the antics of the man-stealing hussy, AJ and Prince Dawlf to talk about.
Kaitlyn and Eve do brawling so well. I loved this segment, personally, and I’m so glad they’re not dropping this program. I think Kaitlyn will only benefit from working with Eve, and it seems like we are going to get one more match between them. That makes me excited. The ending of this brawl segment got a little sloppy, and that was disappointing, but everything else was spot on. Eve is so good at her character right now and I want more mic time for her. I want Kaitlyn to start speaking a bit as well, because she’s got raw talent. She doesn’t have to try that hard, she just goes out there and does Kaitlyn, and that’s amazing in itself. You can’t teach charisma, and Kaitlyn really has it.
It’s a shame that this segment had to be the result of a silly little segment, but oh well. We all laughed when we saw Hand Henry all grown up. It’s also disappointing that the ending came off a bit sloppy. It looked like Kaitlyn just kind of flopped into the ropes. Nothing can ever be perfect though and I’m just glad these two get another chance to show us what they can do together. I think they have amazing chemistry.
Prince Dawlf and AJ decided to ring in the New Year’s together much to my misery delight. The segment was eventually interrupted by John Cena, and had a very smelly ending.
I don’t want to prejudge this storyline and label it a disaster like I did the Cena/AJ angle. It ended up okay, I guess. (Yes, that’s me being kind.) I think my biggest problem with this right now is that if they wanted to turn AJ heel, they should have waited. Granted, I’m still not convinced she is a heel, but just go with it for a second. They decided to keep her face while working with Daniel Bryan, then with CM Punk… both of whom she would have been amazing with. Then they pair her with the biggest “face” in the company, and now with the hot-rising star. They took away a pretty good feud with Vickie Guerrero, who is the top heel Diva, and didn’t really give us a chance to see AJ and Tamina. I think I’m just confused.
That said, I do believe Dolph is using AJ and manipulating her, much like Daniel Bryan did, and it’s going to end up working in his favor. AJ can’t keep turning on men, only to move on to the next one, and I think Dolph is going to be the one who puts her in her place, so to speak. I have no idea what will happen with AJ after that. I would go ahead and say perhaps a full mental break, but you never know with the WWE. I guess we can just go with it for now?
That about does it for Raw. That does it for 2012. It’s WrestleMania season now and anything can happen. Everyone is kind of fair game. Until next time… Cryssi out!

… not sure about that one. Many divas have competed on live shows in there home town and not got much of a pop.
Now, the last time she competed on TV was against Layla early 2011 but was on SD, so it was added pop but if it does happen on live TV, we’ll see.

She hit the nail on the head about Kaitlyn. The girl has so much charisma. She doesnt have to be like other divas and try hard to get a reaction or whatever. She just goes out and does it. I do hope she wins the title off of Eve sooner rather than later.
As for AJ, it seems as WWE doesn’t know what to do with her so they paired her with another male. Dolph and AJ are okay for the time being, I would of really liked to see her paired with Punk as a heel. Those two mesh so well. As for Dolph and AJ, It’s okay for the time being.

I like that Kaitlyn is not your typical all smiles babyface and that she shows attitude. I felt sorry for AJ and Dolph last night not a cool way to end your year. This is the second time this has happened to Dolph.

I loved the Kaitlyn/Eve brawl. It’s nice to see a face diva take no crap from her rival and just knock her in the face. As for AJ and Dolph, I like it a lot better than Cena and AJ. She had better chemistry with Bryan and Punk imo, and I’m not sure where this is going. I could see a few possibilities but none for sure I’m willing to bet on.

I’m happy with the Eve/Kaitlyn tonight. It would have been much better than a random match. It gave more depth to their feud.
The Mae Young business gave me yet another reason as to why WWE was complete and utter down hill and use cheap comedy skits for cheap laughs.
What made me laugh about it all was Cameron. When Eve said she has beaten everyone, Cameron said “Not me”. I bet now, she’ll be put in a squash against Eve in the next coming weeks.
I know i’m going abit OTT here but I think Cameron should turn heel and become one of those women that get on the mic abit because I think she could be a good heel. When she debuted for the Tough Enough show introduction, the crowd booed her alot and when Eve walked in last night, she gave such a ghetto look at her.
For 2013, I hope it’s a better year. The combination of Natalya, Naomi, AJ, Layla, Eve and Paige can bring good matches.

How did Cameron give Eve “a ghetto look”? I really wish the word “ghetto” stays in 2012…

I love this new badass attitude from Kaitlyn. Its a much needed change from the generic baby face. It gives you the feeling that Kaitlyn has finally had enough after everything Eve put her through and all her shananigans Eve used to sneak away with the title. It built up the hype for the eventual match where Kaitlyn will finally beat Eve for the Divas Championship!

Dolph and AJ are much better then Cena/AJ, by a damn mile. I do agree that she had that certain spark with Bryan and Punk. But, honestly, I think Dolph/AJ are leading us to both of them winning their big championships at Wrestlemania.
I would have loved to see a heel Punk/AJ/Heyman power trio. Basically a Harley Quinn and her Joker. That would have been boss.

I thought the ending segment was good, but missing something- if it comes out later Vickie was helped Cena set up his little surprise (in an enemy of my enemy is my friend thing), I think it works better. Is Dolph using AJ? I don’t know…
How they got to the Kaitlyn/Eve brawl was a little stupid, but it does help that storyline- and it’s certainly leading up to Kaitlyn winning the title (I agree with those who think it’ll be in Houston at the 20th Anniversary Raw ep- if not then at the Rumble)- if they want to give AJ the title at Mania, Eve really can’t be champ then without a turn by one of them- it’s too soon for AJ, and we don’t know how long Eve’s going to be around-I’m suspecting that Eve will leave/be released before the end of 2013, as we know she’s engaged- she might not want to come back once she gets married, at least not right away.

Where is the clip of cameron saying not me ?

Kaitlyn looks badass here..she should keep this up and shell defineatlly get over.
AJ just seems like back up to Dolph…she wasnt like that to all other relationships she had…i have mixed feeling about it.

Well I can’t wait until RAW’s 20th Anniversary. Its obvious that Kaitlyn will either get a promo or a match, most likely a match. They should have a Trish/Kaitlyn backstage segment or/and a AJ/Lita backstage segment. If they do have a match it should be some type of gimmick match maybe a falls count anywhere or a no DQ match

The Eve/Kaitlyn Brawl would have been more Awesome if the crowd wasn’t so DEAD

Something I’ve noticed with heels in WWE, or at least in the Diva division of late, is that they tend to hold back their aggression. That’s partly the reason why Eve has come off flatly against Kaitlyn during their feud. Part of her allure was that she was intelligent and ruthless. The chicken shit route seems all too often employed.
And yep, the crowd totally killed this segment.

She still has intelligence and ruthlessness (using tricks to outsmart her opponent, getting herself in the title picture/keeping her title at all costs). The coward act only happens with Kaitlyn though, like she’s supposed to be the one that Eve doesn’t take Eve’s crap which is why she’s built as the only one as a threat to the title currently.

I do see your point, but I still stand by that heels need to be threatening. The edge Eve displayed in her matches has thinned out in personality, where I believe that forceful characterisation will determine Kaitlyn’s rub when she eventually goes over for the title.

I know a lot of people are saying they see Kaitlyn taking the Divas title from Eve on RAW 20th Anniversary, but I personally hope this leads to an angle for Eve leading to WrestleMania.
Imagine:
- Eve going over Kaitlyn on RAW’s 20th, in the up and comer’s hometown. Imagine the heat she’d get.
- Eve mentioned she wanted to beat a Hall Of Famer, imagine like a female legend killer angle with a returning Lita going over Eve and then having Kaitlyn get a rub from Lita and let Kaitlyn take the title after WM29.

Kaitlyn’s going to look stupid if she can’t beat after all this time.
It kinda has to happen the next title shot if its going to happen.

Agreed. It’s gotta be the next match they have, whether it be on the 20th anniversary of Raw or at the Rumble. The timing just feels too right.

I agree. This will be actually Kaitlyns 1st match without anything happening if it goes that way. While I don’t like Eve’s title reign ending so soon, this has to be Kaitlyns time or else she will look stupid & WWE would have wasted time building her up.
Hollywood King Reply:

I believe Kaitlyn’s payoff will come, but I honestly hope just not this soon. She hasn’t proved herself championship material, just yet.
Acrant Reply:

Its not too soon. Its been 5 months. I can’t think of any other diva getting a title chase that long.
They can’t really stretch it out much longer. Whatever they want to happen has to happen pretty soon.

The thought of Kaitlyn winning the title and being the flag bearer of the Diva’s division is enough to make me say eek. She has a killer look but, she is NOT good in the ring and she can’t do the things you would expect a woman of her size to be able to do. Her move set is terrible. She’s just not ready to be the champ. She also needs a new titan tron.
I say they ought to stick with Eve. She’s doing a great job. She’s killer on the mic and I might get flack for this, but, she reminded me of Trish Stratus for the first time last night. She had attack. She needs to have another program or two before she drops the title. She NEEDS to be booked into a lengthy feud with someone that can push her in the ring. I’m interested in seeing what Eve’s skills really are.

Why would you get flack for that? Eve is very much like Trish, she’s pretty much the Trish-type of this generation of divas. She’s doing a great job with her character.

You know. You can’t just compare anyone to the great Trish Stratus, lol.

Afeter this segment, I love Eve’s character even more! She remind me Trish Stratus’ segments…I know she can do it better tho. She definitely needs more mic time, as well as Kaytlin. I also want to see more of the feud, i don’t want to see Kaytlin as champion yet.

I love eve so much, before I thought the died with kaitlyn was getting kinda stale but this segment was funny as hell. I hope eve keeps the title though & if she loses it I hope they find a way to keep her in the spotlight
