Michelle McCool Talks About Being Pulled Aside by Stephanie McMahon and More
Michelle McCool has opened up once again about a former WWE associate, and this time, it’s not about a colleague, Michelle talks one of her bosses, Stephanie McMahon.
The inaugural Divas Champion spoke candidly to her official website about what it’s like to have Stephanie as a boss and McCool had nothing but high praise for the ‘Billion Dollar Princess’.
She said: “She’s awesome in every possible way. From mic work to bumping — I remember her taking the DDT off the top ropes from Randy Orton, oh, my gosh! From her facials to everything… she is just great, and she’s great to work for. She’s a great boss: creative, always wants you to do your best, always there to offer advice — honest advice, which is sometimes rare to find. She shoots from the hip, which I just love. Why beat around the bush? She’s also very hands-on when she’s at the shows. Can’t say enough positive things about Steph.”
The first woman to hold both the Divas and Women’s Championships, who retired in May 2011, elaborated further on the honest approach that Stephanie gave everyone and she recalled a particular funny encounter.
She confessed: “I do remember during one pre-tape, it was with a few of the girls, and I remember her saying: ‘Michelle, come into the bathroom real quick, I need to tell you something.’ I’m thinking: ‘Oh, no. She doesn’t wanna embarrass me about how horrible I am in front of other people — which is nice, but she’s still about to tell me gosh knows what. So we go in there and she’s like: ‘I think you need to shave your armpits.’ I raise them up, and I’m like: ‘No, I shave my armpits every day!’ So when I raise them up, I’ve got black fuzz from my sweatshirt, but she was calling me in there to tell me. Stuff like that, she’s just funny.”

Ha of course she isn’t going to say anything about her boss. She (& taker) were responsible for her endless pushes. I’m so sorry to be so harsh but she just rubs me the wrong way man. She seems so fake to me.

A lot of other wrestlers have complimented her character and her real life personality, and they weren’t just saying it because she is the daughter of Vince McMahon.

Well to be honest Wolverine, I could even see them not adding the taker in the hall of fame as result after he retires or something similar.

Ryan!!!! Just wanted to mention that you definitely hit all the key marks on your response to me regarding who had the pants with Michelle and Taker. Put me in my place lol. It’s true, that comment was a little out of line as I do not know them and a man definitely should protect his woman. Michelle being in the division gave WWE a reason to give them screen time. Yes this is more likely due to Taker’s influence, but well, it was a blessing to the girls. Yeah, I still do not think her push was deserving although she is great in the ring, but I respect what she brought to the table despite it. Thanks for giving me your perspective.

@AJFAN83, just because someone likes a certain diva, doesn’t mean they can’t criticize someone else.
Yes, Michelle helped Layla’s career, but Layla helped Michelle get a few boos at times, even if they weren’t loud, Layla certainly taught Michelle mic skills.
I’m not even a fan of Layla, but these “Oh, you shouldn’t say this, because your favorite is worse” and stuff is just petty. Plus Layla was more over than Michelle as a heel and as a face. She got reactions when she was on ECW, and she gets reactions a few times now. They just haven’t invested in Layla the way they did with Michelle and/or Eve and AJ.

Art u ass, Michelle was an excellent wrestler, her wrestling did all the talking. She got no reaction but neither did Beth who also got insane pushes. The divas who did get a reaction would easily loose it once te bell rang. Dude only divas to genuinely get and keep the crowd going were Mickie Candice and AJ Lee. Kelly and Melina at times.
The important thing is that Michelle, MY favorite, got the massive pushes and got to wrestle and do her thang ;)

it’s very tough for a heel to get a reaction anyway, at least one that comes across on TV. It’s actually harder to hear boos than cheers, if you whisper in a low voice, people will find it harder to hear you than in a normal high whispering voice.
Only a few Divas have gotten major heat before anyway – Vickie, Eve, Molly Holly, Jazz, Victoria, Lita and Ivory. Most will get little heat or a pop

Michelle’s biggest push came as part of Laycool. Who was the “Lay” in that equation? Oh, that’s right, Layla, who was no more over than Michelle. Do I think Michelle got shoved down our throats more? Yes, no doubt, and the reason for that is pretty obvious. But Layla was in obscurity before being paired with her. And her most recent title run (which she never would have got if not for her association with Michelle) has to be considered a colossal flop.

AJFAN, there was reports before Layla’s injury that WWE were really high on her for showing up at every house show, every taping etc. and all and Michelle never showed up. So of course she would get her pay-off. That title victory was because of hard work, not Michelle.

“she was barely used” umm really?!?! Most of the Smackdown Divas were “barely used” because there wasn’t many of them around. And for most of that time from 2004 – 2007 she was in DSW/OVW training or she was sidelined with injury. She was actually used a lot during 2006 as the valet for The Teacher’s Pets

Sorry, but i don’t her consider history making all that impact since no cared, yeah she was the first person to do all those things, but what kind of impact did it make? Candice being the first divas search contestant to win the women champion (even though i feel they give it to her too soon) was more impactful than any of Mccool reigns. There were no stories behind her reign, besides the fact that she was over-push.

People will always say that HHH has all his success because of Stephanie,but it’s really not possible. Vince McMahon would never risk to push a guy endlessly if he is not wanted by the crowd or his merch is not selling like a hot bread. HHH is a great wrestler and damn good at promos. So my point is that Michelle is bringing something to the table to earn her titles and her push. When Michelle turned heel she definitely made me more interested in the SD divas and divas overall. I dare to say she was comfortable in her heel role and made us think she really is a bad bitch that we have to hate and we did.
About Stephanie… me as a fan of her in ring -I love her,but I today I think what is Stephanie doing for the divas,because I really don’t see anything. Stephanie has always been saying how important the divas are for her in interviews and yet they are an afterthought to her as it appears.

I could believe Vince being high on the Laycool gimmick because quite frankly that would be something he would like. I know Michelle improved and became a good wrestler so I don’t say that she didn’t deserve runs at the title. However, I don’t believe that her association with Taker didn’t help her out. Even if she didn’t intentionally use it to her advantage, I can’t help but feel when she came around pitching ideas, the higher ups would listen a little more carefully out of respect to Taker.
