Meh, I’m not a huge indy fan, but I thought Shine deserved to win. From what I’ve seen, they’ve had a very successful first year and it seems like a promotion I could get into.

Not surprised by Shimmer’s win but if Shine keeps going the way it has, I could see it overtaking it during next year’s awards.

I think shine sjould have won tbh

One problem I have with these awards is that there doesn’t seem to be anyway to vote for Mexican and Japanese ‘mainstream’ promotions (AAA, CMLL, .etc). I mean, they’re not exactly indies, but I’m sure quite a few people like to watch international material, and since certain non-American promotions are listed here as independents (btw why no Ice Ribbon?), it seems strange not to include some of these well known promotions (even if Diva Dirt doesn’t cover them much).
Just a thought for the 2013 awards.

While Diva-Dirt as a site does try to give as much insight to both mainstream and independent forms of wrestling, I do think they could put a little more effort in helping with the other promotions around with mainstream. I mean a few days ago I noticed a match lined up for tomorrows ROH tapings between MsChif and Athena (my God, the thought alone has my head spinning) and posted it to DD’s email, but nothing has come from it yet.
Im not saying their bad at promoting all forms of wrestling at all, but I am saying that 2013 could be a year for them to improve that much more.

I tweeted to Diva Dirt about how Santana Garrett has signed with WOW: Women Of Wrestling, and I haven’t seen anything here yet.

Shimmer has held 8 shows this year. SHINE only has held 5. Shimmer has a much bigger and diverse roster and every match is fantastic. Shimmer deserves to win every year. SHINE is great though and I love monthly shows on iPPV. Surprised WSU didn’t get 3rd place.

Well Deserved .
Match quality wise, SHIMMER was a million times better than anything SHINE produced.
Kana vs Hamada best women’s match of the year, Hamada the MVP for female performers, the rise of Kelly Skater , Courtney Rush and Athena, Melissa vs Saraya feud and matches
For next year I might go with NCW Femmes Fatales, their next show seems like it’s going to be amazing Saraya/Lufisto and Melissa/Havock

Great company, a well deserved win! SHINE is really for rising stars while SHIMMER is more for the veterans of wrestling, not taking anything away from SHINE though. Jazz vs Del Rey was a kick-ass match

I’d say thats about right. Give Hine some time next year and I’m sure we might end up seeing a new winner for this award. Assuming these things still go on after all the arguments that have arised from it.
Even still, I say this award was spot on. Nice to see some clever decisions made by people in the awards for a change.

Love love love shimmer and this was a well deserved win! My belief is if Shine contunes to do what they are doing, they will win this award next year.

As a huge SHIMMER fan i think SHINE deserved to win this category. Shimmer did what people expected them to do, but Shine came out of nowhere and delivered some very good shows (on iPPV, which makes them more accessable than Shimmer).
I think overall Shimmer is still the best promotion with a large international roster and the best womens wrestling in the world, but Shine has come very close and are easily the #2 promotion right now, but they did it in a much shorter timespan than Shimmer. And they also managed to build a nice roster of familiar faces, but also some names you never saw in Shimmer before. So enough reasons to make SHINE the promotion of the year.

SHIMMER will always be undefeated in “Independent promotion of the year award” much like Sarita’s CMLL bodybuilding competitions Muhahahahahahahah.
BTW I’m surprised to see EVE above WSU.

Shine should’ve won. As a long time Shimmer fan, I think Shine should’ve won.

Biassed I may be but I think this goes to show that if you’re not watching EVE then you’re missing out!

Make the EVE shows available through sites like SmartMarkvideo in download version (=cheaper price with no shipping cost) and i’d love to support EVE, and i’m sure many other people will as well.
But unfortunately a high £ price (1.6x dollar) + shipping costs isnt very attractive to buy a dvd. And the iPPVs which are nicely priced arent always at convenient times for people outside of Europe.
There are a lot of good womens promotions out there nowadays, and people have to make decisions on what to spent their cash on.

iPPVs include On Demand replays, WrestleFever is still available to watch on demand / own on MP4 download at £9.99 which is about $16 at http://www.EVEwrestlefever.com and there’s always the In Demand service that we recently set up and run ourselves where people can buy individual matches as oppose to full shows with match prices ranging from $1.99 – $2.99!
Also, on EVE DVDs / Merch we’ve NEVER charged shipping fees. The most expensive DVD on our site is the 2 disc set of No Man’s Land that also comes autographed by The Blossom Twins, Alpha Female, Nikki Storm, Jenny Sjodin, Kay Lee Ray – in fact most of the EVE roster and that works out as $24.
Best place to find everything out is at our facebook page or on our twitter @ProWrestlingEVE

That looks much better than i initially thought (read), especially with there being no shipping fees. Naturally there is still the problem that there are a dozen of womens promotions all competing with eachother on the DVD market, but i will definately check it out sometimes.
