madusa-alundra-blayzeWhile former WWE Women’s Champion Madusa — known in the company as Alundra Blayze — hinted that she would be in attendance at Raw’s 20th anniversary show next week, the one-time WWE and WCW star has clarified her comments since we reported on them earlier today.

Madusa tweeted: “I need to clear my last post.I will be in Houston thisSaturday for monster jam and thenthe following mon. I was thinking on attending raw (sic)”

The former champion previously noted on Twitter she would be competing in the Monster Jam truck show in Houston, Texas on Saturday evening, and would visit the WWE show next Monday. Madusa didn’t, however, clarify if she was invited to appear on the milestone 20th anniversary broadcast or if she was just watching the show from the crowd (which she’s done at WWE events in the past, including last February’s Elimination Chamber event).

I guess, like Raw 1000, we’ll have to wait and see if Madusa — or any other former Divas — appear on the episode, and looking back at our pleasant surprise when Lita, Stephanie McMahon and Trish Stratus popped up on our screens, it may be more fun that way!

I didn’t know either.. always wondered but never cared enough to ask LoL, but I found that.. it was too hard for me to explain in my own words without being confusing. Hope this helps you as it did with me!

this ‘perra’ was one of the succesful women’s wrestlers pre-Trish Stratus’ era… and she’s a former WCW Cruiserweight Champion

I figured she’d just be hanging backstage. The only past diva in the promos is Lita, so she might get a TV spot. She seems to be the one on best terms with WWE at the moment, although I’m sure Punk has a lot to do with that.

    NY Pollard Reply:

That’s not entirely true. Sunny is also in the RAW promo along with Stacy Keibler and I think Maria and AJ Lee are in it. You can barely see them, but they’re in there. I’m sure Lita will be featured. Too bad I’ll miss it, since I start this college semester that day. :(

I’m guessing Stacy and Trish and possibly Torrie will be back too. Mae Young, but not Sunny because of her recent troubles…who knows.

    ajfan83 Reply:

Lita is shown the most prominent. The other ones are “blink and you’ll miss it”. My point was she’s been the one past diva WWE has really promoted a lot recently. Logic says she’s most likely to show up.

    WweLitafan4ever Reply:

Hopefully she does! I love how she has been mentioned a lot more recently and especially throughout 2012!That’s awesome! The more Lita, the better!

I knew it. I only see Lita and/or Trish appearing. I would be good to see them. BTW Are Morrison & Melina still together? Just wondering because if so John said we will see him in 6 months & if him & Mel are together she might be back too XD.

    AndieMcPhee Reply:

They are still together, so fingers crossed. I know Melina has said on a number of occasions that she’d be up for a return in an on or off screen capacity.

    Fingers crossed.

  4. I can’t imagine what would Madusa can do if she appears. Maybe just a backstage segment with others past legends…

    Kessuki Reply:

Would love to have her appear in a segment with Paul Heyman considering she was in his faction during her early WCW days.

I think what should happen is this –

Madusa is in the back talking to Mae Young and say…Kaitlyn. Then heel Trish Stratus shows up and starts berating them, saying nobody cares that Madusa is an old WWE Women’s Champion who now drives monster trucks and that Mae never even won a title. Why is she a legend? She’s just a divasaurus! And nobody cares about Kaitlyn. The fans came for to see the greatest diva of all time Trish Stratus! She poses and then the camera pans out to reveal Lita who is standing close by with say…Mick Foley and Stacy Keibler. She turns around and Lita and Trish have a stare down. Eve walks into the picture and chimes in. Why don’t we have ourselves a match tonight? Eve and Trish vs Lita and Kaitlyn with Madusa as referee? Eve brings Tamina as an enforcer while Stacy accompanies Lita’s team. AJ can run down and interfere at the end.

    NY Pollard Reply:

Trish can say its great to be in Houston Texas, then she’ll quickly turn on them by saying…”Wait, no ..this is the same place I once lost a battle royale to Lita because of Chris Jericho…and they were calling me a slut..I hate Houston..” Kaitlyn can get in her face and defend her hometown.

    ajfan83 Reply:

Any more fantasy booking? This is silly for so many reasons. Stacy won’t be there, that’s one. Trish probably won’t be there either. If she is, no chance she’s a heel. I also doubt she would cut a promo putting down other past women when a huge chunk of the crowd won’t know who she is, either. Referencing a battle royal from 9 years ago? Wow.

Just be happy that you’ll probably get your Lita cameo. Maybe she can actually interact with a current diva for a change.

    NY Pollard Reply:

I need to know, seriously, why the hell are you so negative? I realize this won’t happen and I don’t think a Stacy or Madusa appearance is out of the question btw, but why are you so damn ornery? And I think both Lita and Trish will be there. I guess we’ll see, but even if they are – I expect the usual from you. Negative comments about their looks, uselessness, and yea, anything else you can pick apart.

    AndieMcPhee Reply:

Yeah, I love that the people who take an interest in the divas and talk about what they like and what they want to see are the pathetic ones.

You know, as opposed to the presumably 30 year old guy who seemingly sits behind his computer for hours whining about how nobody is being realistic. Ummmm…

    Deezo88 Reply:

Wow, someone has seriously been supping down the hater-ade.

    ajfan83 Reply:

The reason I come off negative is because any time you offer an opposing view some asshole like Andie comes out of the woodworks and starts getting personal. Plus it’s really easy to push people’s buttons on this site. And a lot of you deserve it.

As far as attacking the fantasy booking, well, what was your grand idea again? Oh, right, Trish and Lita coming back to talk about how great they are and making current divas look like crap. If either one of them were doing anything productive for the WWE (like Rock and Jericho’s returns), I’d just shrug my shoulders. But they aren’t. It’s just ego trips for two over the hill ex-divas. If either one of them wanted to work with the current generation, well, the door has always been open. But it seems like they’d rather stay gone, throwing out challenges from afar, getting people on sites like this to soil themselves every six months or so. Then they show up for a show like this, barely get a reaction, and everyone starts making excuses for them again. Rinse and repeat. I get that wrestling itself is sort of a joke to most people, but I’ll be damned if the Lita/Trish lovefest isn’t some sort of a parody. The fact that an even older relic like Madusa can create a stir just makes it more absurd.

    NY Pollard Reply:

You’re relentless in your refusal to understand what it means for a character to return for a night to simply, give back to the fans that made them. This doesn’t always have to be about “putting someone over” as you love to throw out there, it too is about entertainment and seeing an old hero rise again. Madusa might be a leftover of a different era to you, but there are many fans who will be sitting at home in hopes of seeing someone that might have been part of their childhood growing up. Wrestling isn’t a joke to most people, its a pastime and is somewhat of a global culture. There are millions of people who don’t consider it a joke. I’d say that it is considered a mixture of art and sport before calling it a joke. Countries like Mexico, Japan, and Canada celebrate pro wrestling and doubt they consider it a joke.

    ajfan83 Reply:

It’s considered a joke in the states. The only time I’ve ever seen it mentioned in the mainstream was when someone, usually a talk show host, was making fun of it. It has a lot of fans, but it’s not taken seriously by the masses. It’s comparable to the circus. I like it but I never pretended it was something more than that.

As far as the whole debate about putting people over and whatnot, the biggest flaw there is that their returns have only exposed that maybe they aren’t as remembered as you’d like to think. I mean, no matter how often WWE hypes Trish up through their website and various lists, she comes out and you can hear crickets, people in the crowd looking like “Who is this?” The announcers try to put her over but nobody in the arena cares. If I had to compare it to a real sport, it would be like an old timers game where they tried to hype up some backup player as the biggest star on the team. Jury is still out on Lita, whether she could still get a crowd going or not, but the last couple of appearances weren’t encouraging. Madusa? I’d actually feel bad for her if she came out, that’s how quiet it would be.

So it’s a simple question I asked before: what does it accomplish to have past divas come back and make current talent look bad if your audience (the ones that go to the shows and order PPVs) don’t even care, or maybe even remember them? If one of them showed up next week and jobbed to Eve, or even later on at a bigger show, I’d take it all back. But we know their egos won’t allow that.

    Crazy_J Reply:

She was simply stating an IDEA of what could be fun or a way for Madusa to be featured.. why are you pointing out the obvious that it’s fantasy booking? Hello!!! lol..

    Choko Reply:

Lol, why would a retired wrestler like Trish suddenly be heel? stupid booking. I’d rather see all the past divas as lumberjills. The perfect match would be Eve vs Kaitlyn, with all the current and past divas as lumberjills. After the match, when Kaitlyn wins, all the heels storm her, and the faces make the save. Eve pushes Trish down from behind, Trish turns around and chick kicks her, Lita moonsaults her, divas like Torrie and Stacy are in corner smiling and laughing. After the match, both Trish and Lita raise up Kaitlyn’s hands giving her a huge rub, and kickstarting a future top diva character.

The heels could be Melina, Jillian, Molly and etc.

    NY Pollard Reply:

Choko – I don’t owe you an explanation as to why Trish would be a heel, but I would just like to say that there is always missing logic in WWE and there always will be. So the real question is, why would you suddenly think WWE would provide Oscar worthy storylines? You’re watching the wrong program if that’s what you’re anticipating. Obviously RAW 20th is going to be a big reunion and anything can happen. People have turned heel at the drop of a hat. For example Krystal Marshall on Ashley on an episode of Smackdown. Y2J trolling fans, Melina smiling and then slapping the taste out of Nattie’s mouth. Besides, its only a suggestion that won’t happen. Why are you getting so worked up over it?

    - AJFan – I think you underestimate things just a tad. Remember that RAW is global, there are plenty of fans who remember their old favorites and will be watching at home. You seriously need to drop this. Its clear that you’re some bitter individual who’s pleasure is to put others down by scolding them and lecturing about how their opposing views are wrong and how yours are right. I hope Madusa, Trish, Sable, and even Stacy show up just so you can roll your eyes and think they’re ridiculous. I’ll be happy to see them.

    ajfan83 Reply:

Going by ratings trends most of the fans that watched back in the day have stopped watching. It’s no longer cool or relevant. Not even a Rock or Brock have revived much outside interested in it the way WWE was hoping they would. So the people that WWE would be catering to with these various cameos aren’t even going to be watching. What you’re left with is stuff like Trish hosting Raw in Toronto and the crowd not knowing who she is. As far as Stacy and Torrie, I think they’re a lot happier dating A-listers at this point. Not everyone has to cling to past glories, you know.

    JD Sensations Reply:

UMMMMM how exactly did the crowd not know who Trish was??? did you not hear the pop she got or did you choose not to listen because you’re so ignorant?

    ajfan83 Reply:

Let’s not start debating pops again, shall we? I saw that episode of Raw and I heard the crowd response (or lack thereof). It’s probably wrong to say they didn’t know Trish (she is sort of a celebrity there afterall) It’s more accurate to say they didn’t care to see her.

  6. Cool Madusa rocks! Too bad she couldn’t give the women’s championship to Beth.. But another deserving individual is there… Natalya! I really wish Nattie could of been the last women’s champion!! All though Nattie rocked the hell out of the Divas Championship! Proud of u Nattie! :)

  7. lol really?

  8. The fact that they’re showing her throwing of the women’s title in the trash from Nitro on the upcoming Best of WCW dvd indicates that things have gotten better between her and the WWE. I love that she’s one of the few wrestlers to really be able to reinvent herself and become a star in a whole other realm. Be cool to see her again even if it’s just a blink and miss her type deal. But it’s not like she needs the publicity either way.

  9. Kessuki

It would be f*cking awesome if she did return and wwe used her for a in-ring or backstage segment. I’d like to see her successfully persuade Eve to dump the divas belt in the bin and take the more prestigious belt madusa has kept all these years. Or i’d love to see her in a segment with Vince where he is asking her to give 1 more match (possibly teaming up with Kaitlyn to face Eve and Tamina.
