Hot on the heels of Sarita‘s departure earlier today, her on-screen cousin Rosita has also been let go by TNA.
PWInsider.comĀ reports that Rosita’s contract had expired and TNA opted not to re-sign.
Rosita, real name Thea Trinidad, joined the Nashville based company in January 2011.
Since her successful debut in an eight-Knockout tag team match the following month, she went on to win the Knockouts Tag Team Championships alongside Sarita, but she hadn’t been seen on TV since April 2012.
The news comes four months after she insisted that she was still under TNA contract.
Thoughts: Well this is yet another massive shame. Rosita proved just like Sarita, that she had so much more to give. She joins the likes of Cheerleader Melissa and Hamada in that she could have done so much more, but alas, it was not meant to be.

I hope the WWE snatches her up. TNA used to be sooo diverse with its knockouts. Now?

I agree 100%!! That was one of the main reasons I was liking the knockouts more then the divas bc they were so diverse in looks and in fighting styles
at
Wow. Smh. I was actually expecting this to come sometime soon. I hope this doesn’t become a trend. They ony use like 5 KO anyways. Honestly I wouldn’t mind seeing then in WWE no matter why role they get. Is stupid how they let the contract expire when they could cut the ties a while ago as let them move on to something else. I guess they didn’t want to pay them for letting them go.

I hate to be the one to point fingers but it kinda sucks that some of the KO’s that were there before mickie/gail came back had to lose their tv time.

TNAs KO division now is turning into the WWEs rejects (Tara, Mickie, Gail, Brooke) with Velvet & Madison thrown in.
They need more home grown talents.

Velvet is a WWE reject’s reject. Madison is their only true homegrown (unaffiliated with WWE in any kind of way) talent

And because of that, she’ll (Madison) probably be next to go. -_-

@Nostalgia: Well…. TNA wasn’t known to a lot of people , besides it not like she was giving a full chance, she just had a tryout and that it. But i guess it how you look at it. I hope i don’t sound aggressive.

Pretty much. She had two failed tryouts, I’m not seeing the argument that always comes up about how she’s somehow an ex-Diva. If we’re going to get that technical, ODB has a million times more WWE experience than Velvet due to her years in OVW despite never being contracted.

While I agree TNA should try to build their own stars, there is hardly anything wrong with having Gail, Tara and Mickie in the division just because they’re ‘WWE rejects’. Anyway, Tara and Gail really both rejected WWE for TNA.
There’s a massive list of people in WWE who are ‘TNA rejects’, of course that doesn’t matter to anyone since they’re WWE and can’t be held to the same standard as TNA.
GrrMonster Reply:

I don’t think people mind Mickie, Gail Kim, or Tara in Tna, I’m just tired of seeing just them, give Madison or ODB a push for once.

Exactly. Just like for example you were previously working for Citibank & change your job & work in OCBC, that doesn’t make you a ‘Citibank reject’. No one sticks to a job for life & get branded.

Tara just whines until she gets her belt. Wish she’d go the way of Chyna. :)
Gail left for the money then smartened up.

I seen this coming once sarita was let go
It would be nice to see her go else where and actually get a good run

I think we were expecting some releases by TNA- a lot of contracts for them expired at the end of last year. They need some new blood though- I’m assuming Taeler Hendrix might be used more soon (she just dropped the OVW title, and really doesn’t have anything else to prove down there), and they might pick up one or two others (the Blossoms maybe?)
at
What’s the point of the tag titles? Smh
at
I’m shocked by this release….If I’m not correct Didn’t she say in an interview TNA told her to improve her in-ring skills so they could bring her back for a push???

TNA is getting worst and worst……Maybe the recession is the one to blame.

I think there’s definitely less money in the company now than there used to be (say in 2010/2011). The company seems to want to balance their books and operate on a profit, while in the past I think they were probably operating on a loss (since they were spending so much).
With that said, they could easily cut Hogan’s contract and free up a ton of money (and TV time) for the Knockouts.

Tbh Rosita never excited me.. so this goes over my head. Besides being small, she is nothing great..
Compared to Saritas release, this is mehh news.
at
can anyone smell wwe sign for her?
at
The first time I saw Rosita on TNA I loved her! I thought she was fun to watch and adorable.
Another KO loss… I wish TNA would bring in some fresh faces or use the ones that weren’t in WWE. don’t get me wrong I like Mickie & Gail.. and Tara is one of my all time favorites, but we need fresh faces.. or they should have used women like Sarita and Rosita.

Eh pretty soon Mickie Tara and Gail will be gone. Then it’ll be Brooke vs Taeler vs Taryn for the knockouts title which will get a silver and red make over and be called the TNA babes -___-

For some odd reason, i don’t see Mickie staying by the end of 2013 or beginning of 2014.

I was thinking this last night.
And we all know Tara would prefer to retire with WWE.
But the next KO release I predict, Madison Rayne.. watch this space.
All this while SoCal Val is kept on the payroll.

Lord I hope not lol… I like Brooke actually.. and Taryn was okay or starting to be okay in WWE.. Taeler.. I don’t know why they signed her honestly considering they’ve turned down WAY better women or released them.
Even though I like those other 2 I still don’t want the division going that way.

TNA LOVES a story
at
Im really not surprise, i always felt that TNA was using her from her 9/11 story.
at
Not Rosita! She was young, hot, and could wrestle! At least tna doesn’t discriminate by looks because Sarita and Rosita were good looking! I guess with the new year it’s time to cut losses and rebuild because I want to see some new people very soon even though I still love the knockouts!
at
Hmm I can see her going to wwe & having a tag team with rosa mendes she’s pretty and she looks young wwe needs to give her a chance!

I would say that Madison Rayne is next, but they need a jobber. “Run Madison! Run…………………..”

Looks like the tag championship is now invalid. Sarita and Rosita could have come back to regain the title.

I kinda feel like Kong’s departure was the beginning of the end of the Knockouts Division mainly because the division was pretty consistent until then. After Kong left, the division started suffering MAJOR spikes with the losses of Alissa Flash, Hamada, Taylor Wilde, Daffney, Roxxi, Angelina Love, and Tara (Angelina and Tara eventually came back, but still). It had promise with the re-vamping of the Mickie/Tara feud carried over from WWE in 2010 (the Knockouts put the Divas to SHAME in 2010), but with the stupid decision to push the likes of Velvet and Brooke for the top Knockout role. Honestly, I don’t think there’s room in TNA for both Velvet AND Tessmacher since they’re essentially the same type of Knockout in terms of the whole “sexy underdog” role. Unless Angelina comes back, I don’t see any legitimate reason to keep Velvet seeing as how I feel as though she’s not a huge draw outside of the BPs.

She should go to WWE and be like Hunico/The Colons sister/ Girlfriend.
They don’t really have a Hispanic diva.

Now TNA isn’t that different from WWE right?
at
After the news of Sarita being let go I figured this was coming. At a time when the KO’s need depth, they instead are letting KO’s go.
at
I see a lot of complaining about how Gail, Tara and Mickie are ‘WWE rejects’. Two of those three left WWE bc they wanted to go where they can wrestle. All three are amazing female wrestlers. Two points: 1) Don’t insult the remaining talent bc TNA chooses to let wrestlers go who they feel are less marketable. 2) TNA still allows the Knockouts to wrestle so much more than the Divas. Day and night. Didn’t the Knockouts just have a 13 minute match? The Divas haven’t done that in about 8 years. IMO
at
I digged rosa she was mad sexy spicy and also not really bad wrestler. Also Sarah was actually really good. Sucks they didn’t get showcased at all………. And yeah Hamada Taylor Wilde, Alyssa Flash…Angelina and Awesome Kong… All let go…. For shame man
But happy with the current Knockouts as well and hope NO ONE GETS LET GO!!!
at
What a way to start 2013 right off the bat with two KOs being gone from TNA! What is the point of having the Knockout Tag Team Championship when TNA could have brought back the team of Rosita and Sarita to capture those titles from Eric Young and ODB?
at
I’m deeply saddened by Rosita and Sarita both leaving TNA (also the Pope too). There was so much the writers could have done with them, that they didn’t even attempt to.
What I don’t get is that the company won’t even use these talents to job to their ‘favoured’ ones. Instead they just rotate 5 or 6 women non-stop between being on top of the division to jobbing the next month. Unbelievable.
