Today in History: Jacqueline vs. Trish vs. Victoria in a Hardcore Women’s Title Match
On this day in history:
January 13th, 2003 | Victoria‘s Women’s Championship was on the line in a Triple Threat Hardcore match, Trish Stratus and Jacqueline serving as her challengers. Trish was decidedly the underdog here, as Victoria’s unpredictability and Jacqueline’s affinity for the rough-and-tumble put her at a distinct disadvantage. Trish was no slouch, though, at one point going to town on Victoria with a Kendo stick before hitting Steven Richards with it as well. Richards got a measure of revenge later on by hitting Trish with a trash can lid, allowing Victoria to pin her and retain her title. The duo craved more revenge, though, and after the match set her up for more punishment from the Kendo stick. A hero (literally) came to Trish’s aid–The Hurricane–and chased the fiends off. Trish and Victoria would scrap some more when they were ringside for a Hurricane/Richards match later in the night.

I think it was in 2002 after a bra & panties match between Trish and Stacy. Victoria landed awkwardly after she hit her moonsault on Trish, then I guess it was there where she hurt her knee.

I think I have heard her say in an interview or something that it was the Chicago street fight match she had with Trish Stratus that injured her knee. I could be wrong though.

I know its looked at as bad but when a man hits a women he gets heat when the woman finally gets payback she gets a good pop

I just watched this for the first time in quite a while. And damn. That was intense. The crowd wasn’t too loud, but you could tell they were on the edge of their seats.

jackie was tough i mean stevie shoved her hard as into the guard rail…even thou the ending was botched it still got heat for interference…..

I don’t know about anyone else, but I always pegged Victoria as the Luna Vachon of that era not just because of the “psycho bitch” gimmick, but because she was a really great worker who (like Luna) could put ANYONE over. They (Luna and Victoria) could wrestle broomsticks and make the broomsticks look like they were beating the crap out of them. That’s always been a dream match of mine; the (original) Psycho Bitch/Anti-Diva vs the Black Widow. R.I.P. Luna (random segue finished)!
