Tonight in her hometown of Houston, Texas, Kaitlyn finally bested Eve Torres to become the new Divas Champion.
In order to prevent Eve from using her usual strategies of count-outs and DQs to retain her title, SmackDown GM Booker T added a stipulation to the match: if Eve deliberately had herself disqualified, she would lose the title.
Though Eve usually has a trick or two up her sleeve, it was Kaitlyn who did the outsmarting this time. After an encounter outside the ring, Eve, preoccupied with not getting counted out, hurried back into the ring without knowing where Kaitlyn was. Kaitlyn then snuck into the ring behind Eve’s back and caught her off-guard with an explosive spear. The spear laid out Eve for the three-count, and Kaitlyn got the pin and the win.
The new Divas Champ, her shirt emblazoned with the phrase, “Don’t Mess With Texas”, celebrated to the cheers of her hometown crowd.

Please Don’t leave Eve!!!!!!! I was expecting them to write her off or something, but nope. I guess she will stay. I heard they that WWE had two movies for her to be in so I am still optimistic.

I honestly dont know how I feel about this.
1: Every fued does not need to end in a title exchange ( and it shouldn’t because we all knew Kaitlyn was going to win, even before the Eve news broke.
2: I like Kaitlyn and see her improvements , but I still dont feel a connection with her. I would much rather another diva in her spot. But I do really want to like Kaitlyn!
3: I really enjoyed the match and thought it was good, but it had a brawler style to it. I think it would be in Kaitlyn’s benefit to work on being a bit more technical. Bu GREAT spear at the nd.

Very true, but I think as she is taking her skills to the next level she needs to start becoming a bit more technically sound. I think it will give her a bit more legitamacy as a wrestler.

Everyone does not have to be technical in the sense that they have to be Nattie or Molly Holly, but it is important to expand move sets beyond strikes. I guess this may be my preference, but the brawler move set never impressed me because there is something so basic and “I don’t need extensive wrestling training to do that” about the brawler type of moves. My preference probably comes from the fact that I am on the wrestling time now and was on it for most of highschool.

It is more of my preference, as I said. All champions in theory should “up their game” and I think Kaitlyn incorporating more technical moves wouldn’t be such a bad thing.

She actually has more technical moves into her disposal and she has used some down in FCW and on NXT.
However, on the main roster they mostly are having everyone using like 5 moves and that’s it.
Due to this it was refreshing to me to see that Eve and Kaitlyn added new moves or changed some in every match they had instead of watching the same ones over and over.

Congrats kaitlyn. I really got behind her during this push and I’m glad she got rid of her hideous ring gear. I don’t think she was the right winner for NXT but since she did win. I think her main event push was long overdue

I cried when she won. I Love Eve but I was for Kaitlyn. I remember her NXT 3 days I couldn’t stand her, then we went to the Chickbuster stage & I still didnt care for her. Now with the Eve vs Kaitlyn feud I LOVE Her. Congrats Kaitlyn, you’ve come along way.

Eve probably quit so she can go to her honeymoon and start a normal life without being on the road almost the whole year.
The family of her husband is also known for having many kids so I guess she want’s to start having some already.

Been a Kaitlyn fan since NXT3. It’s been so gratifying to watch her improve and rise up the ladder. So happy for her. =)

I’m so happy Kaitlyn won! I’ve been wanting this the past couple of months. I’ve been a fan since NXT(for her personality) and it’s great to see how much she has improved since then. Well, this is the beginning of something different with the Divas. A new champion that’s never been one. I think they will call up Paige. From what I see with Paige so far, I think she will get to the level of Lita or Trish in terms of popularity. Something about her… she has “it”. Now if WWE can use her correctly…

Ecstatic for Kaitlyn! Truly was a feel good moment and though I’ll miss Eve, I’m glad Kaitlyn is officially the champion, because I love that chick and I especially love her entrance music.

This match was great.Eve was tramendous in her expresions and the submision manouvers (just wish she wouldn’t stretch for the ropes while she is stopping Kaitlyn to get to the ropes…it makes no sense).Kaitlyn was great too,she really reminds me of Trish,just hope they’ll push her as hard.We need a strong baby face and I guess now all we need is AJ to stop rage-climb cages and get into the ring and be the cocky,little bit insane bad bitch she can be.
