What’s up Diva fans and welcome to the inaugural edition of the Saturday Morning Slam Redux. I’m Jack and whether you’re having a fried breakfast, cereal, pancakes or tea and toast, I have the perfect thing to compliment it, a glass of the juiciest chemistry going within the Divas division. Of course, I’m talking about Alicia Fox vs. Natalya. We know how well these two mesh together and we’ve seen some marvelous matches from them in the past, so will this just be another one to add to the long list? Let’s find out!

We kick off the proceedings with an unknown over-the-top announcer talking about the Divas match over some really cool looking graphics and then we head to the ring. It may be too early to P-P-PARTY but that isn’t stopping Alicia Fox, who is strutting her way to the ring. Whilst I continue to be amazed with the fact Alicia doesn’t injure herself on her entrance with all that hyperactive hip thrusting, my attention is drawn to the commentary booth. Josh Mathews is sitting alongside Booker T! My ears have been deprived of Booker’s insane commentary for too long but the main concern is, will he enjoy the duo he dubbed “Salt and Cracked Black Pepper” facing off? OH MY GOODNESS, SHUCKY DUCKY! Next, it appears Natalya has been given the new nickname “Calgary, Alberta, Canada” as Tony Chimel forgets to say the word ‘from’ but that mistake from him isn’t going to make Nattie’s entrance any less great – she is looking pretty in pink as always!
The bell sounds and the girls tag hands as a show of respect before Natalya applies a waistlock and goes for a schoolgirl pinfall. Alicia gets up almost instantly and stares down Nattie before the Dungeon Diva applies a headlock. Alicia twists her way out of it and hits a headlock takeover. Tal wraps her legs around Foxy’s head to break the hold and Alicia nips up. Booker references his wife Sharmell *bows to the Queen* and Natalya executes a headlock takeover of her own. Alicia mirrors Nat’s movements from a few seconds before and wraps her legs around Natalya’s head, leaving Ms Neidhart no choice but to one-up A.Fox and perform an even better nip-up, which is followed by a headstand frontflip – lovely chain wrestling!
The skills continue and the girls work over one another’s wrists, both reversing the manoeuvres with flips and rolls. Nattie armdrags Alicia into the turnbuckle and goes for a monkey flip but the Foxy Floridian lands on her feet! The Florida native then goes for a dropkick but Natalya swats Alicia away like a fly. Natalya looks to go for the Sharpshooter but her foe makes it to the ropes. The girlfriend of The Great Khali then charges at Alicia, but Fox leapfrogs out of harms way and executes a stunning backward roll headscissor takeover!
A shot to the commentary means we miss the next move but Alicia is the one in control and manages to get a two count. Alicia then whips one of her lethal weapons out of it’s sheath and Natalya falls victim to a northern lights suplex. William Regal will no doubt be marking out at Alicia’s beautiful bridge as Foxy gets a two count with it before slowing the pace with a bodyscissors. Natalya shows her strength and goes to slam her opponent but Foxy uses her momentum to push Tal back down in a crossbody fashion. Alicia doesn’t pick up the win after that move so she once again applies a bodyscissors. Natalya ‘ain’t got no time for that’ and once again stands up and hoists Alicia skyward. Alicia wriggles down the back of Natalya and tries to get a pin but Nattie rolls through and grabs Alicia’s legs. Ms Fox is wriggling as best she can to avoid the Sharpshooter but it’s to no avail and Natalya locks in the submission and gets the win.

Thoughts: The first Divas bout on Saturday Morning Slam was definitely a success! I believe this was the first time that Alicia and Natalya have faced off as face vs face and for me, it was just as entertaining as when they hate one another. The constant reversals at the start of the match were fantastic and I loved the athleticism that Alicia showed during the contest. Her monkey flip reversal and northern lights suplex were both excellent. This match was shown how underrated both of these two are and as always, it was a pleasure to see them compete against each other. Nattie is also a pretty cool backstage announcer, great to see yet another way that she can show off her character! And with that, stay tuned. Jack will be back!

Fantastic match between these two. They have wonderful chemistry together. Only thing I wish was different was that they didn’t do that awkard cut to Booker and Josh that made us miss what Alicia did to Natalya to get the advantage.

It was annoying, I agree, but I believe the editing team edit out moves which are specifically aimed at the head and neck, as the programme is aimed at children. :)
Also, anyone else think the match was basically re-cycled from their encounter a few months back on WWE Superstars (a match I thought was one of the best Diva matches of 2012), which was something I actually quite liked, as I loved that match.

Also, I looooveeee how how Booker T mentioned his beautiful wife, the lovely Queen Sharmell – I would love to see her return sometime soon, and by what I read a few days ago from Sharmell, a cameo appearance may be possible?

Whenever these two have a match I always get excited ! They always make the match great & they’re freaking hilarious . This match was fantastic & an example of why Natalya & Alicia should be put in matches way more often . Not just with each other , but with the rest of what’s left of the Diva’s Division .

What a gray first match for the Divas on here. I think it’s literally IMPOSSIBLE for Alicia and Natalya to have a bad match together. I know u can’t do certain moves on her with the head I guess but it didn’t even matter. The match was amazing.

This match was very on point and honestly I would not expect anything less from these two. Alicia and Natalya have had so many matches on Superstars in the past and without a doubt they have also met at live events therefore it does not surprise me one bit that they have amazing chemistry. They were fluent, fast (for the most part) and aggressive – now they just need to be allowed to show it on Raw or Smackdown.
My only fault with Alicia is that she does not perform as well with all the other Divas as she does with Natalya. Natalya on the other hand works well with anyone and everyone therefore she is more of a dark horse.

it´s very nice(obviously) to see Natalya as an active wrestler but please don´t make her a permanent backstage interviewer or Khali´s love interest,or whatever is her role with him and Hornswoogle.

If the Match was just 4-5 minutes longer and icluded more high-risk/impact moves it would have been one of the best womens wrestling matches of the year. Nevertheless, a very good match! the technical exchange at the beginnining was amazing and these two women have amazing chemistry!!!

I don´t know how you know it would be one of the best matches of ther year, since the year has just began, and we have almost no matches do judge, but who knows right?
And even though this match was very good and technical, I think that Eve vs Kaitlyn was better because it had a story, and the match was very hard hitting and very emotional!

Im only assuming from the quality of matches we normally see in a one year period and judging from the quality of womens wrestling matches last year (which wasnt too good in WWE). And also, natalya and alicia’s previous matches have been of a very high quality as well :) I liked eve vs Kaitlyn as well but i think natalya and alicia can put on a match of better wrestling quality at this sage of their careers.

WWE has really dropped the ball by not pushing Alicia as a babyface. I would LOVE to see her get a run with the title as a babyface sometime soon. I would love to see what she could do with Nattie in a 10min PPV match.
I have alot of respect for Nattie & Alicia bc those 2 out of everyone else in the division seem to get shuffled around the most, and never really have a set role, but they make sure every time they DO get screen time, that they are giving it 100% and they are going to make you remember their spot. I hope they can eventually claw their way to the top of the division, bc they both deserve it 100%!

These two have the best chemistry out of any of the divas on the roster. Encore. I think we mainly only get good diva matches when there is no overplayed shit main event storylines or pointless recaps of the Rock to worry about . Well done ladies

I think the Morning Slam rated g style fits the divas well since themselves are already restricted anyway! Maybe they’ll do a LayFox angle to feud with Kaitlyn and Natalya can be Kaitlyn’s partner!

I love them both to pieces and their chemistry is amazing.
The ring were flooded with Charisma and all the moves were spot on. :)
The first time though Alicia did this headscissors so fast and fluently.
Looked very good in my opinion and much better then having to wait till her opponent first grabs her legs and holds them for a bit.
Hope to have more Diva matches in this show soon.

My two favourite divas square off again, and of course, the gave a great performance! These two have great chemistry and fluidity with each other, and they should be wrestling each other over the Diva’s belt. Great match!

I will never understand why is Alicia not one of the main girls and why isn’t Nattie already a champ…those girls are talented.Even tho the crowd reaction was edited as on SD & Superstars,you could still see that people reacted quite well on Nattie’s submission in the end.So Nattie is capable,beautiful,strong & can get attention…why is she with Khali?
