divastrishhofWe’ve already seen quite a few reactions to the news of Trish Stratus‘s WWE Hall of Fame induction, and now WWE.com has spoken to several Divas to get their take on the big story:

AJ Lee: “To anyone in WWE, she’s an inspiration. She has helped us break a lot of glass ceilings. It’s really cool to have someone from our generation — that’s actually classified as a ‘Diva’ — to be in the Hall of Fame.”

Aksana: “I’m really excited for her. I want to say congratulations to her. She’s my idol.”

Kaitlyn: “It’s so cool to see. She made such a huge impact and she is so iconic. Everyone aspires to have just a little bit of what Trish had.”

Lilian Garcia: “She totally deserves this. She worked incredibly hard and made such an impact. Trish redefining what being a WWE Diva means and gaining a spot in the Hall of Fame didn’t come simply from drop dead gorgeous looks or natural talent, but hard work. She totally deserves this. She worked incredibly hard and made such an impact.”

Natalya: “Trish was a pioneer for the Divas. There were women that came before, but she broke all the barriers and all the stereotypes. She had a work ethic like no other. She worked her tail off. She can do anything. Certainly, I’ve been extremely inspired by my family, but when I decided I wanted to be a lady wrestler, it wasn’t because of my family. It was because of Trish. … She is one of the reasons I’m doing what I’m doing today and I couldn’t be happier for her.”

Thoughts: Their quotes seem to have a common theme: the lasting impact Trish made in the WWE. She paved the way for the modern Diva and the likes of AJ, Aksana, Kaitlyn and Natalya. Undoubtedly, that is Trish’s legacy, and a large part of the reason why she’s the first Diva of the modern era to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Aww, such awesome and lovely words. I cannot wait to watch Trish’s induction and her speech and see what dress she’ll be wearing. So exciting. Gonna be an great night. :)
    Again, congratulations Trish Stratus. <3

Me too! I wonder what all the divas are going to be wearing. Oh and I’m so happy for Trish, I love her so much! I remember when I first became a fan of hers, I was playing HCTP with my bro and chose Trish simply because she had the highest overall. when i saw her in rl for the first time i was like omg xD

These comments are so sweet. These are some of the women Trish inspired in some way, pretty cool. I can’t wait for her speech! She’s probably going to look beautiful beyond words and she’s going to thanks all the women and men she worked with and the fans and if she cries…this is going to be so emotionally awesome. I love Trish! Truly one of the greatest divas ever!

They had better stan hard when she gives her speech.

    Ace Of Base Reply:

That shouldn’t be a problem I hope. I mean, Trish really did earn this and the Hall of Fame is like a WWE title, sometimes it matters and has meaning…and sometimes it means crap. I’m looking at Drew Carrey on that one, but I digress.

In the case of Trish Stratus, this is truly something special and well deserved. I am so proud of Trish and so amazed by her. She’s unstoppable and not only a pioneer in women’s wrestling, she is an inspirational human being for everyone. She cannot be stopped! Trish will get her respect and I’m sure her peers and the fans will give her a big ovation. =)

What Aksana said reminds me of on NXT when the immigration layer called her the Russian Trish Stratus bahaha. Very happy for Trish and her new Hall of Fame status.

Paved the way for what exactly? A division that’s been on life support for a good 7 or 8 years now? Meh. I’ll try and be positive for once. She did have a big career, by diva standards, and these quotes sound sincere.

    Monkey Tennis Reply:

The state of the division now isn’t Trish’s fault. Or that of any of the current roster. For whatever reason, the WWE lost interest a few years ago.

    Ace Of Base Reply:

Way to go sweetie. I’m glad you accept this. Trish is awesome. =)

    marcum1234 Reply:

She paved the way for most of the Divas of today. Trish is the original model turned wrestler. She has the perfect combo of beauty, sex appeal, mic skills, and wrestling ability. Some say she’s overrated, but she went from someone that nobody would have ever thought would be a women’s champion to one of the most, if not the most, known women’s wrestler in the world. She came in as a beautiful fitness model that was a valet and turned herself into something much bigger then that, every diva is going to look up to her and what she accomplished, and quite frankly I would be disappointed if they didn’t want to at least try and do what she did.

    Gail-Trish-Brooke Reply:

You are such a troll. Kindly shut the fuck up, and quit spamming all of the Trish posts.

    Gail-Trish-Brooke Reply:

That was meant for ajfan83 btw

    ajfan83 Reply:

And what if I don’t? What the fuck are you going to do? She didn’t pave the way for anything positive. Just diva searches and untrained models getting pushed as wrestlers. Either prove me wrong or mind your own business.

    Ace Of Base Reply:

@AJFan83 – Excuse me, you’re not going to trample on everything I say. You spout off your comments and tell them as fact when they’re all but opinions sweetie. Just like we’re entitled to accept Trish as a pioneer and respect her contributions. And who the hell are you, to take that away from her? You need learn to appreciate these women, otherwise, why are you even here? Ugh…SMH

    ajfan83 Reply:

    @ Ace of Base

I wasn’t talking to you. But my point still stands. She didn’t pioneer anything besides the model/wrestler formula, which has led to women like Kelly, Maryse and the Bellas being pushed over real athletes. And even when they become decent, like Eve, they just quit anyway. It’s a failed concept. Great legacy.

    TheJoJoIsCrazy Reply:

    @AjFan83:

I’m not sure why you dislke so many of the Divas. at least that’s what’s to be percieved with your statements. Your opinions are your own though.

I think Trish is a comendable pioneer in a postive light for the Divas. I just also take a moment to look at it a little braoder. Trish without doubt put her body on the line for this job. She didn’t come in wiht a chip on her shoulder and contracts to protect her beauty for marketablility. She paid her dues in that ring, I’d say. I think this formula you refer to is very much the McMahon ideal for the women. To save the package and forfiet the athleticism. I think they have hopes of creating a new “Trish” using the model/wresletr formula but their paranoa that their beauty may become a liability they “water down” move sets and cut times and spots. I think Eve left because she saw it for what it was and decided she gave enough of her life to it and now wants to move onto different avenues as the WWE isn’t making much progression in investing in the Divas potential to be wreslters. I think Beth did the same. I don’t think Trish is to blame but just the prototype for the McMahon’s ideal for the perfect beauty action star ho doens’t get in much on the action, Lol.

That’s just me. Not attacking you, simply disagreeing and hope maybe it gives you a new perspective. I think blaming Trish for the Divas od today and leveraging a means to discredit her work is a bit much, personally.

Apologies for any typoes!! Again, no hate, just opinion.

    theprincedann Reply:

    I agree with ajfan83

Trish did have a great run, and I respect her wholly. But, she is the reason WWE is Barbie orientated, and not athlete orientated.

    ajfan83 Reply:

    @ TheJoJoIsCrazy

Trish is indirectly to blame for the division being as bad as it is, even if it’s not something she set out to do. The fact that womens wrestling in WWE hasn’t been credible for a very long time (the decline began before she left) has a lot to do with her success. That’s why I said she essentially “paved the way” for a joke division. Her legacy is all the models that they have tried to turn in to wrestlers. Because most people don’t take it seriously, it means her whole “legacy” is hard to take seriously. Maybe if WWE just admitted that Trish’s short term success was a one time thing that won’t work again they could finally start solving the problems.

  6. flash1086

I think what made it so easy to relate to Trish is that you didnt have to do moonsaults or powerbomb men to have success. She was just a ordinary girl with a ordinary athletic background who simply had the drive and determination to be the best.

    Jcott3 Reply:

That drive and determination has proven to be the difference between Trish and most of the other eye candy Divas. Too many of them don’t want to be Trish Stratus – they want to be Stacy Keibler, meaning they don’t care about wrestling. They just want the exposure to launch an acting or modeling career.

  7. I’m so excited for Trish! She was a trailblazer and an all-around great, hardworking talent. She went from just sex symbol to one of the most recognisable female professional wrestlers in the world. She worked hard and earned everything she had, and I can’t imagine any diva better to earn a HOF spot. She was my favourite Golden Era diva (apart from Ivory), and I’m excited for her post-WWE success!

  8. fahkyooh

Awww I love Lilian Garcia! She said “she deserves this” TWICE so the haters can realize how amazing Trish really was. Lilian was at ringside for every iconic match in the golden era, sometimes the heels even got her involved, haha.

Trish paved the way and it’s not her fault that the Diva’s after her dropped the ball. People always say that others made Trish, but let’s be realistic. Trish put Mickie over to the moon, along with Lita. It gave Mickie a huge push to become the top Diva, it’s no one’s fault she couldn’t TRULY take over and shine like Trish and Lita did. It’s time to stop making excuses. WWE gave her chances with huge storylines with both Melina and Beth Phoenix, which didn’t catch the viewers attention. Candice was also given a huge push and was well on Trish’s path up until her injury and returning worst than ever. Melina was also given huge pushes and storylines but it didn’t resonate with the general fans other than Diva fans. None of these women broke the mold like Trish and Lita did, facts are facts. Deal with them people.

    Ace Of Base Reply:

Finally we agree – I think Mickie became a tad tired towards the end though, she was plagued with minor injuries and I think a staph infection at some point. Also, that son of a bytch Batista might’ve had a hand in her untimely demise there. I’ll always dislike that roided beast for it! And also for getting Ariel fired. Ugh! Breathes***

    Raekon Reply:

Melina and Mickie actually were huge with the crowd, you only need to hear the pops they always got as faces so I wouldn’t say Melina only connected with diva fans for sure.

You also need to see that no other women got the opportunities Trish got and that there were also era differences and more restrictions in their runs after.

    ajfan83 Reply:

Mickie never was anything special outside of her psycho gimmick. The online wrestling community has been overrating her popularity for years. The woman is pretty talented but has never drawn ratings or money.

  9. she broke glass ceiling really?? how…lita, chyna did more for women then any other female in wrestling sure trish showed the sable mold of diva can actually wrestle but she actually didn’t leave the mark those two other divas did….

    Deezo88 Reply:

Chyna is overrated. Yes, she was the first woman to do many things; first woman to enter the royal rumble, first woman to qualify for the king of the ring tournament and the first woman to become Intercontinental champion. However, Chyna did all of these things without having to be very good at her craft. Chyna always feuded with male superstars that were able to carry her – Chris Jericho, Hardcore Holly, Val Venis, Jeff Jarrett. Chyna was the female John Cena of her time. Also, one has to wonder if Chyna would have accomplished the things that she did if she wasn’t diddling Triple H at the time. Trish Stratus went from being a valet to becoming an accomplished women’s wrestler.

    Ace Of Base Reply:

Deezo88 – I think that is a fair observation, but at the same time its sorta irrelevant. If you look at it that way, then we can say that a lot of people in WWE and Hollywood for that matter mightve been elsewhere had it not been for their circumstances at the time. So I think its a moot point. It happened and she became what she was and now she’s known for it, so it is. No need to throw out the what if’s, since it already happened and they filled those roles.

Its kind of the same thing with everyone suggesting McMahons to induct Trish. Its so silly in my opinion. Just because come on, they took part in countless superstars storylines, so does that mean that they should induct everyone? No. Its silly. Besides, it is a lot more special imo, if they’re inducted by someone very dear to them. It should totally be Lillian, or Finlay, maybe Jericho? Bret? Someone she has a close relationship with.

    09DHK Reply:

The same could be said about Trish in terms of being carried by FAR better in-ring performers such as Molly Holly, Ivory, Jacqueline, Jazz (to the day no one can make me believe she could legitimately beat Jazz), Victoria, Lita, and many others. A perfect example of this is when she worked a tag team match with the inexperienced Jackie Gayda. When Trish was the one who had to carry the match, she couldn’t do it due to the fact that she’s typically the one being carried. Her wrestling skills became pretty solid, but you have to admit that she was pushed over far more deserving women. I’d personally peg Trish as the original “Super Cena” more so than any other diva. I don’t necessarily hate Trish since she actually worked hard at her craft, and unlike Sable she has respect for the women who got her over. My indifference is most likely due to WWE shoving her down everyone’s throat as opposed to letting fans naturally fall in love with her.

    Raekon Reply:

“Surprisingly”, Chyna was actually quite good in her craft and could carry her own but most people don’t wanna give her credit for that ignoring all the bumps she had taken that barely any female or male could do.

As example the bump that after a reversal you go overhead towards the ropes, flip over them head first and land down after you managed to hold yourself with the palm of your head at the side of the ringfloor which needs great technical ability to pull off.

No one ever were able to do that before or after her.

Also her strength was there cause she was abel to military press some of the heaviest superstars that not even male competitors were able to.

Yet most people don’t wanna see all that and call her overrated only because she competed at the top with the top stars of the company as a woman. Unfair much?

Trish worked very hard and earned her spot but she never reached the ability a Jacqueline, Ivory, Jazz or Molly had and never will.

Should we say that she is overrated because of that now too?

Seriously, let the girls have their moments, we are here to support them, not to argue everytime on who had the best hair extensions and stuff. -.-

    Raekon Reply:

*palm of your hand not head. :p

    Ace Of Base Reply:

I totally agree Art. Chyna and Lita broke new ground for the women. Trish did prove herself though, you gotta give her that. She combined Sunny and Sable’s roles and fused them together to create a fantastic balance. Trish proved that you can be much more than a Sunny and more than a Sable. So now beautiful models such as Trish, can aspire to be pro wrestlers, as opposed to just be an ornament for the male wrestlers. Trish made the choice to be more and subsequently, she became a pioneer for it.

    Raekon Reply:

    Thank you Ace of Base.

Some people really need to differentiate and accept that all these women offered something to the division and that they all earned their spots instead of bashing and comparing them the whole time.

    09DHK Reply:

    ^^THIS!!!^^

    flash1086 Reply:

Lita said it herself that her, Trish and Chyna are the pionneers of the women division. Now, I dont think she revolutionize it more Chyna cuz Chyna is a world-wide name but she certainly did more than Lita. Her name is much more world-wide than Lita’s. Trish had more magazine covers than anyone and she sold way more marchandises. Chyna and Trish are the 2 biggest names EVER.

    Ace Of Base Reply:

Flash, let me stop you right there as I believe that is grossly innacurate. I have heard that Lita is more widely recognized than Trish and even Chyna in some eastern countries. I know she was sent over to Malaysia and the UK many times to promote WWE. Also I corresponded with some fans from some other smaller country in 06 and word was Lita was big there. Also Mexico. There is footage of her against Mickie James in 06 and the pop for Lita was just absurdly loud. Ofcourse, some of this is arguable, but to say that Trish is recognized more world wide is ludicrous.

She’s most definitley well known in Canada…Chyna is the only female wrestler to have lasting name recognition it seems. I mean seriously, I hear it come up in some odd instances. Someone at work has mention she does not don’t wanna get too buff and look like Chyna

    Ace Of Base Reply:

    EDIT – Continued…

I’ve almost never heard of Trish or Lita being mentioned by a casual wrestling fan. Most of the time I look at people thinking, “Are you serious with the Chyna stuff? She hasn’t looked like “Chyna” is a long time.”

I believe Trish is somewhat famous in Canada for sure. :)

    art Reply:

@Ace Of Base i did give trish her props she proved the sable mold of diva could actually wrestle & she actually wanted to unlike sable…

@flash1086 lita sold more merchandise then any over diva in wwe, lita is the most popular diva of all time only chyna & sable are close to what lita got plus lita is who changed the game for women in wwe….

    ajfan83 Reply:

Chyna and Sable were way bigger than Lita. Look at the ratings and mainstream coverage they got at their peak. And Lita was around for some of the Attitude Era so you can’t say their popularity was a byproduct of that. As far as name recognition today, Chyna takes the prize. She’s the only “celebrity” female wrestler. Then I’d say it’s a tossup between Trish and Stacy. Stacy is certainly more famous in the states, but Trish might have her beat in other countries, just because of all the modeling she does. I don’t think anyone outside of the wrestling fanbase knows who Lita is.

    Ace Of Base Reply:

AJFan, you’re so full of it! LMAO! I cannot prove who was more popular, but I don’t think you can either. So let’s agree to disagree there. The neat thing here is that at the very least, all 4 women (Sable, Chyna, Lita, Trish) are very well known among wrestling fans in general. Good or bad, they all put their stamp on pro wrestling!

    art Reply:

Trish isn’t famous other then Canada & that’s pushing it so thats chyna & stacy & either isn’t from something positive…

lita way out poped sable & chyna wwe called lita the most popular so its obvious its her…

    ajfan83 Reply:

    @Ace of Base

You can prove popularity by endorsements and media appearances. I know Lita fans want to take the stance that she was this cool anti-diva that didn’t want any of those outside offers. But they are never willing to admit that perhaps, just maybe, she didn’t GET any of those offers.

    @Art

You have your head so far up Lita’s ass you probably know what she ate for dinner last night. At least Trish is famous somewhere. Fame is a sign of popularity. And yet nobody that doesn’t follow wrestling has any clue who “Lita” or “Amy Dumas” is. As far as comparing her to Sable and Chyna, you again look like a dumbass. Chyna was on mainstream talk shows, as was Sable. Appeared in some of the biggest selling Playboy issues of all time. What the hell has Lita ever done outside of wrestling besides a failed band that only her hardcore fans give a crap about? If WWE said she was the most popular diva, that’s only because she was getting pushed at the time. They did it for Sable, and Chyna, and Trish, and Sunny, and anyone else. Go watch Sable’s entrances in 1998 and tell me Lita “way out popped” her. You stupid little mark.

    flash1086 Reply:

LOL! Your talking without facts. There’s no other women in history who was making a salary of marchandise except Trish. Trish has made multiple magazine covers even in the state. Trish was even rank above the likes Catherine Zeta Jones on celebrity lists. Lita was never even a thought. Trish and Chyna revolunize it like no other.

    Ace Of Base Reply:

Flash and AJFan – I love the way you guys brag so hard about Trish being famous and how she had all this merchandise sales and whatnot. I will agree with you, just prove it first. Otherwise, it is just wishful thinking and based on opinions and not facts. I’m done here, this is supposed to be about Trish’s HOF honor and she deserves it. End of Story.

    flash1086 Reply:

Your just a lita mark so Im gonna leave you alone.

    Ace Of Base Reply:

AJFan – You need to stop insulting people seriously. It doesn’t make you some cool internet smark either. Get over it.

I don’t want to turn this into another debate about popularity, but I’ll say this – Lita IN FACT did get offered many deals outside of WWE and playboy was merely one of them. She personally pulled Vince aside to let him know that she wasn’t interested in them and her main focus was always pro wrestling. She said herself, she considered everything else “gravy,” which I think is very respectable and admirable of her. Even the Big Show who has been there to see it all (unlike you and I) has spoken honestly about Lita’s popularity, which he said there were nights Lita received reactions as Stone Cold and The Undertaker. There you go, and unlike you this has been stated by Lita, Matt Hardy, Big Show and Molly Holly as well.

I agree that Sable was receiving the biggest reactions for a female at a time when WWE was at its peak – I can’t really argue with that.

And you’re calling me a dumbass, yet you come off as incoherent in a lot of your posts. Where is logic? Is it not reasonable to assume that outside of WWE, if you’re not in a mainstream spotlight any longer, your star power fades? I would think you would understand that simple, “concept.” You fail miserably.

    art Reply:

@ajfan83 you’re just stupid as fuck so nothing new from you….its obviously lita plus lita got playboy & all those mags but turned them down plus a top ten book which trish & co never got….
lita out poped sable & all those no diva can touch her popularity wise & most people in canada dont know who trish is sooo yeah…

As far as i’m concerned Chyna started the “revolution for girls in the then “wwf”. Then Lita came with her awesome moves and her great personality and stuff. She actually paved the way for the rest of the new girls like Molly and Trish. Trish did have a great career, but her name just started to be considered as iconic when the wwe gave her all those pushes and those championships. I like Trish but I disagree with her being the first “modern” diva to be inducted to the HOF.

  13. bikini kill

now i dont post on here very often unless something strikes me as bullshit. then i go ahead and speak my mind freely just as i would ijn real life.
im so tired of hearing that trish and lita were pioneers of womens wrestling in the wwe.
everyone seems to forget Ivory’s first reign as Womens Champion in 1999. Did all of you start watching when Trish was shoved down our throats and automatically won every match she was in? (im exaggeration but it might as well be true)
the womens division started to kick off when sable was getting ready to leave. ivory and jacqueline were already feuding along after ivory’s catfightng angle with debra was pushed to the side once they realized what ivory was capable of.
sable was gone. and she sued the company. so wwe used a talented actual WRESTLER to fill the position as women’s champion. she was a great worker and was willing to do almost anything they gave her. everyone forgets that before trish and lita ivory had been in 3 hardcore matches.
    1. tori vs ivory first womens hardcore match
    2. ivory vs luna hardcore at unforgiven
    3. ivory vs luna vs jacqueline triple threat backstage brawl for the womens championship on smackdown.
not to mention the hysterical feud she had with the fabulous moolah and her genius insults towards BB. she was the best on the mic no doubt about it. trish was always so rushed and out of breath but ivory was a natural. lita couldnt do mic work for shit aand lets face it all she could do was mimic the hardy boyz moves and retarded taunts.
just because she can do a moonsault and a diving hurricanrana doesnt make her a pioneer of womens wrestling. eve torres could do a moonsault for fuck sakes and she cant wrestle worth shit compared to ivory jacqueline victoria and jazz.
im not knocking trish ive met her at an autograph signing and she was very nice. its just that people seem to forget these accomplishments were given to her and she didnt necessarily earn them.
while trish and lita were endlessly pushed ivory got put on WWE Experience and Tough Enough when she should have been wrestling.. But since Trish had the maxim looks and Lita was the :token alternateen. its as if the american public had never seen a rock chick before give me a fucking break. i think trish became an excellent wrestler and far surpassed lita in every aspect of wrestling. its funny how lita was in there longer than victoria but victoria was amazing from the start and very clean. lita was always sloppy just as ivory said she moved around like gumby like fucking plato. i do respect lita for the recognition she brought to the womens division but she is not a pioneer of the golden age..
the pioneers of the golden age were ivory jacqueline tori and luna and then trish and lita and the victoria and jazz.
wwe overlooks their more talented female workers and always have in favor of maxim looking chicks like trish. yes trish was an amazing athlete but all of you act like trish was first and ivory and jacqueline came after her. they were fucking tough enough trainers along with tori and both wrestled in the indies and such. just because they didnt have maxim looks or look like a mall goth rock chick they got overlooked by the company. and even sadder, by you guys the fans. give ivory and jacqueline the recognition they deserve. without them there wouldnt be a trish stratus because when sable was womens champion there was no real womens division. it all started once ivory and jacqueline and tori started brawling. maybe you overlook it because you didnt watch back then but thats what i grew up with. and thats why i stopped watching once they retired their best wrestlers such as ivory and jackie and molly left and they brought in diva search bimbos that couldnt even do a clean sunset flip without falling off to the side.
yes i give the models credit for trying, but they dont have michelle mccools natural athleticism despite being so thin. people overlook the importance of technical precision and cream their pants for spot monkeys or spotlight hogs. trish isnt a 7 time womens champion because she legit won it all those times. it was rigged so that she would be. i love trish but its ashame how other girls got overlooked because of her. and dont give me that oh shes so marketable kelly kelly defense. i dont give a shit whats marketable for wwe if they’re putting out shitty product. im not a mainstream person so maybe thats why i dont enjoy shitty wrestling in 2 minute matches. i grew up with dom perignon why would i expect anything less if these “models” want to be called wrestlers? train. build MUSCLE like trish did. you need to be strong to carry others and have a sense of gravity unlike some that shall remain nameless.
whatever im done bitching. just stop overlooking ivory and jacqueline the true pioneers of the womens division and praising trish and lita as gods gift to the wwe divas because without jacqueline and ivory to risk their lives taking litas botched moonsaults to the neck and lifting up trish’s ass onto the ropes so she could do her stupid stratusfaction on them there would be no trish or lita. the end.

    fahkyooh Reply:

Why would I praise Ivory and Jacqueline when Molly, Victoria and Jazz carried Trish? No ty. Jacqueline is so competitive she couldn’t carry anyone. Ivory was great but come on now.

And people seem to forget that it takes two to tango, two to pull off a great match. Both Beth and Natalya have carried countless “models” in the ring (Kelly, Eve, Maria, etc) and the matches were STILL lackluster. Victoria has also carried a lot of these models and the matches were still very bad. Look at now, with Velvet Sky. LOL! My point is that you can carry someone all you want, but if they’re not talented enough to keep up with you, it doesn’t matter how much you carry or cater to them in the ring, it will still look unprofessional. You can’t teach someone how to fall, how to jump, etc. These things come naturally for people. Some people are naturally more athletic than others. I HATE it when people try to discredit Trish and her abilities. Not only did she mesh well with 95% of her opponents in the ring, but that girl could sell like no other. She deserves a lot more respect than people give her. And I agree, Lita was always terrible in the ring and sloppy and gumby-like.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. They brought recognition, and looked great.

But Ivory, Jackie, Tori and Luna picked up a broken division and made it relevant, then when it was relevant. Trish, Lita and co took advantage and became stars. While people forgot about the four I mentioned before.

Trish and Lita were lucky, in the right place at the right time. That’s not putting a knock on them, they were entertaining and both worked hard. But the fact they go into the HOF before others is an insult to the girls who put the division in a prominent place.

Lita was always sloppy that just makes me laugh i love ivory but she couldn’t take lita’s move because she was trained in a different era to take high flying moves…ivory bumping sometimes looked hilarious always landing on her ass instead of flat on her back so its not like she was perfect…
i do want ivory to be hof thou since she carried the division after jackie & sables feud…

The truth is that Trish only made it because she was pushed endlessly and she was carried by great workers in the ring like Jazz and Victoria. Victoria who actually was in WWE less time when she debuted the second time and became a superior worker than Trish. Its just too bad she was watered down in favor of the models.

Also, I love Ivory, but I don’t really take her to heart since she’s actually blasted just about everyone she disliked including Jackie, Kat, Triple H, Chyna and so on…

Molly Holly who was a superior wrestler than all the WWE divas I’m proud to say, has said that Lita was green before her injury (and ofcourse she was, she hadn’t had much training with women), but was a good wrestler when she returned. Trish Stratus herself has praised Lita’s abilities so this hatred spewing out of these low lives is just stupid.

I always wondered why Ivory bumped on her ass so much! Lol. Thanks for that tidbit Art.

Lita got by on her persona. I would think even her biggest fans could admit that she was very limited and sloppy in the ring.

Trish didn’t get over for her in ring stuff. I think all you have to do is look at a majority of the comments on other wrestling sites. It’s usually guys in their 20s and 30s talking about how hot she is. Trish became a star because of her looks. To think otherwise is simple denial. Why do you think she appears in so many magazines? Her in ring skill? HA.

I have to add, never really got the fascination with Ivory on this site. She was pretty good all around, but some people talk like she’s on the level of Trish, Lita, Sable as far as divas go. What a joke. She’s basically an also ran. She had one notable feud (thanks to Chyna). The crowd never really gave a crap about her. Her voice was annoying. She was solid if unmemorable in the ring. Let’s face it, when she vanished from WWE TV only about 1% of the audience even noticed she was gone. Very overrated on this site.

Sable Trish and Lita better than Ivory ring wise? IM NOT TALKING ABOUT FUCKING POPULARITY AND MAINSTREAM APPEAL. IF YOU READ MY POST I SAID I DONT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE MAINSTREAM WWE AUDIENCE BECAUSE THEY ARE MOSTLY BRAINWASHED IDIOTS THAT CANT THINK FOR THEMSELVES.

If you think Sable was a better wrestler than Ivory you have issues. Not to mention.. SHE WAS HEEL HER ENTIRE CAREEER UNTIL THE END. She wasnt supposed to get pops you fucking idiot.

She was there before Trish. SHE CARRIED TRISH WHEN SHE WAS LEARNING. You must have been in diapers or not even born yet when I was watching back in 1999-2004.

Ivory was raw wrestling and acting talent. She wasn’t a Sable or a Debra she was just Ivory. Popularity doesnt mean shit. Look how popular Sable was, yet she refused to bump. But she somehow surpasses Ivory, who was in the first women’s hardcore match ever? Seriously you have problems. Go watch AJs pathetic acting and listen to fucking Justin Beiber you pube.

    2) Jacqueline – Former Cruiserweight & Womens Champion
    3) Shaniequa – She can fight male wrestler but did not get push
    4) Awesome Kong – She beat 2 guys in Royal Rumble

    6) Lita – Guys used dangerous object to hit her and she successfully beat 2 guys in her career

Trish Stratus – redefined what it takes to be a WWE Diva, 7-time WWE Women’s Champion, Hardcore Champion, Diva of the Decade, 3-time WWE Babe of the Year, Cover Girl on multiple WWE Magazines/Divas Magazine

for me, she’s better than some of the women you listed and just as important as a few of the ones you did.. :)
