On this day in history:
January 31st, 2000 | Somehow, some way, a brand new Diva earned a shot at The Kat‘s Womens Title for her debut match. This Lumberjill Snow Bunny match saw Divas surrounding a tub of “snow” while Kat and the newcomer, “Hervina”, wrestled. It wasn’t long before Hervina pinned The Kat and was named the Women’s Champion. Soon after, Hervina was revealed to be Harvey Wippleman in drag, and thus a “legend” was born.

The best part of the attitude era was from the Mcmahon-Hemsely era to the Golden era of the diva’s division which was somewhere in 2003-2004ish!

Every diva in the actual Attitude era has their own definitive character. Not to mention WWE actually catered to each woman’s strengths. Not everyone HAD to wrestle. Some were just managers. Some were valets. Some were wrestlers. Where now they try to make ALL the divas wrestlers. Back to the match above lol. I love it. It was part of a storyline where the divas were tired of gimmick matches(Ivory/Jackie gravy bowl,evening gown swimming pool,etc). Jackie won the belt 2 weeks later in about 10 seconds

That didnt last long. Why is because Sable, Chyna, stephanie, lita and Trish all brought excitment to the division. Sable and chyna had powerbombs that became very popular. They all made sure to connect with the crowd. Now, it feels like they performing in a library. They cant connect except maybe for AJ.

The divas division in general has been cringe worthee for the past 5 to 6 years. So ill take those few embarassing moments in the atttitude era anyday.

I enjoyed matches like this they made the storyline more fun . I wish they’d bring back matches like this for some of the eye candy divas but then again we live in the pg era

This is the eqivalent of if the diva’s title was defended in a fatal 4 way dance off being Kaitlyn vs Naomi vs Cameron vs Layla and than afterwards Cameron wins!

I would love to see Cameron. She’s not that bad of a wrestler anyway. Cameron is the outspoken(shows by emotions because divas aren’t allowed to talk anymore) of the division.

Ugh! This is the part of the Women’s Championship history that we all wish never existed! Lol.
THE OMG! Moments for the Women’s Championship wins are as follows (IMO)-
“Harvina” winning it.
Debra winning it.
The Kat winning it.
There may be a few more that I disliked, but these are the 3 that irk me the most! I just breathe and accept that this is entertainment, so I guess we must take the good with the ugly, because this sure is ugly!
In a close to perfect world, I would have replaced these champions with
Luna Vachon
Tori (of DX Fame)
Mae Young. Why not? She might have been a great wrestler back in the day and even if she wasn’t, I would have given her the title in a Stephanie McMahon type of way. Mark Henry could have helped her retain it until Jacqueline got her hands on her! I would have LOVED to see that! XD

FYI love how Ivory despite her foxyness was still trying to “bring back dignity” to the women’s division lol…
Attitude Era was weird for the women’s division unless these sexy ladies were in thongs showing puppies ;)
Then Sexy Lita and Trish came along and rest is history
Bash all Sable all u want but she was memorable and a WWF Legend with a lot of class and sex appeal ;)

You’re half right. Sable had PLEN-TY of sex appeal, but she was sorely lacking in class. Listen to what the other women have had to say about dealing with her in 1998-99. She was a self-centered egomaniac. She couldn’t wrestle, didn’t want to learn, wouldn’t take bumps or put anyone over, but expected everyone to treat her with kid gloves in the ring and make her shine.

I love how Ivory, Jackie and Luna seemed to be having more fun then the Kat or Harvey! It sucks that the Women’s Championship was part of this gimmick as this could easily not involve a championship at all but I think we have Jerry Lawler to thank for this one!
