Impact Wrestling officially announced their new online gutcheck competition a few weeks ago, which would pit over 300 names from the independents against each other in a set of 16 tournament style brackets where each winner would advance on with one name ultimately getting an opportunity at the televised gutcheck during a future date.
Today, the company announced a few changes to those rules. Notably that instead of one name advancing in each bracket, it will now be the top three vote getters that move on due to popular demand. In addition, the end date for voting was originally set for March 11th, but has now moved up almost a full month to February 15th. This means that you may vote for your favorites for the next two weeks and then the top three names in each bracket advance on.
Among the names listed are a plethora of notable independent talent, which include the following:
Bracket 1: Zaira Ojeda
Bracket 1: Geneviève Goulet (Commonly known as LuFisto)
Bracket 3: Brandy Way (Commonly known as Brittany Force)
Bracket 4: Veronica Carrejo (Commonly known as Simply Luscious)
Bracket 5: Kristina Saeger (Commonly known as Lylah Lodge)
Bracket 5: Paloma Vargas (Commonly known as Paloma Starr)
Bracket 6: Devorah Frost (Commonly known as Epiphany)
Bracket 6: Desiree Snow (Commonly known as Mia Svensson)
Bracket 7: Tina San Antonio (Commonly known as Tina San Antonio)
Bracket 8: Latoya Allsopp (Commonly known as Luscious Latasha)
Bracket 11: Jessika Heiser (Commonly known as Jessie Kaye)
Bracket 12: Holly Davis (Commonly known as Holly Rocamora)
Bracket 13: Kacee Carlisle (Commonly known as Kacee Carlisle)
Bracket 13: Adrienne Reese (Commonly known as Athena)
Bracket 13: Roxsanne Mathena (Commonly known as Foxy Roxy)
Bracket 16: Nicole Barela (Commonly known as Niya)
Reminder: voting for this round closes on February 15th, 2013. You may vote for any of the names listed by clicking on their respective bracket number above, which will lead you to the polls where you are free to select your pick.
Who will you be voting for? Drop a comment and let us know!

They don’t use them because they suck and have no personality. (and Hogan, Bischoff, Prichard, and Viacom, Spike’s owners, are sexiest pigs) Literally any of these girls are an improvement.

Wow, so many female wrestlers advanced. If this isn’t a sign that people what to see new knockouts and a renewed focus on the division than I don’t know what is. If glad Athena made it. I’m not familiar with a lot of indy wrestlers, but I really like her though:)

Wait, never mind:P They didn’t advance this is just a breakdown of all the female wrestlers in the competition! I guess I got overzealous, but I still do that several of these women have shot though:)

I don’t see Courtney Rush on there, the must have took her off. She was pretty upset that tna released personal info such as her real name and occupation. I think tna r wrong for that!

They did that to a lot of the entrants, they could have definetly handled the situation better.

Jessie Kaye is already getting endorsed by Robbie E on twitter
Mostly all these talents have done work with SHIMMER, WSU, and NWA
Epiphany is best known for her work down at OVW and Simply Luscious was in TNA during its early days

Foxy Roxy????? Really?!?!?!?! I had no idea she was still involved in wrestling… This girl is sooo versatile! She used to manage, wrestle and referee on the indies, this is probably 10 years ago now. I had no clue she was still around, that’s awesome to see.

There was a part in their online show TNA Today on youtube where he appeared on the show and he showed brief clips of a Gut Check seminar which Lufisto was part of so he showed her part and he said that oh she ”couldn’t connect” well cutting a promo on the mic and that he wanted her to be like Sable

When he told the blossoms they were too rough and needed to be feminine. Lufisto is not feminine at all and she hardcore!

Right yeah, you’d have to think he’s actively rooting against her in this. In his mind it seems if a woman doesn’t have Playboy level sex appeal, they shouldn’t even be seen.

Here’s hoping LuFisto makes it up there, as I’ve been a fan of hers for almost 12 years now! BUT I’m really pulling for Arda Orcal aswell in here. Arda would be a HUGE asset to TNA’s broadcast team! HUGE!

Like he said, they are in different brackets so you can vote for both of them right now, as well as any other woman who is in a different braket.

All would be an amazing addition to the roster.
TNA, listen to me… hire all of them and make a new organization which includes your current KOs:
TKO TKO TKO
(Total Knock Outs)
The place where girls rule!!!!

Thank you JillFan :). I would watch TKO haha. Just thought I throw the idea out there. If they were to name a PPV for an all KO one, this would work right? We want a whole organization though.

I dont have much faith in this voting poll. Most of the names on the list werent even informed there was going to be a poll, some had even already signed with other companies. So what if the eventual winner has no interest (anymore) in appearing on TNA? That all kinda indicates that the “winner” is already known by TNA.

February 2, 2013 at 12:00 pm
They’ve sorted it out now since it seems they’ve taken down Courtney Rush or anyone else who was offended and upset that they were placed in the poll the way they were.
If theres a time to vote, now’s the chance, especially since they shorted the closing date as well.

Huh I forgot about Kelly Klein & Foxy Roxy when I sent that TNA Gut Check email to DD, sorry about that. But yeah if its the top 3 advancing, maybe Athena actually has a chance again that guy who likes running in the snow now. Seriously, he’s got well over 1300 votes for punching snowballs… what is the world coming to? -.-’
LuFisto, Athena, Tina San Antonio & Jessie Kaye are musts to advance, hopefully all of them advance, but mostly LuFisto & Athena, both are truly TV bound whether its WWE, TNA or anywhere else.

Hmmm what happened to all the gutchecks that already took place?
All only off screen?
Alpha Female were supposed to have hers at the 24th January in nottingham already but there is no mention anywhere bescheid her facebook.

February 2, 2013 at 2:00 pm
Thats the one with Alpha Female, Shanna & Nikki Storm your on about right? Well since the votes started before their Gut Check, they dont really count for this one, and Im sure the’ll be up for more votes in the future if TNA does something like this again. Otherwise they may move onto a TV Segment if they were impressed enough.

Hmm… if it’s only from previous gutcheck contestants then I’m wondering why Jillian, Ivelisse, Melina and Caylee Turner aren’t in there aswell.
I know that Ivelisse is in the valkyrie stable now in SHINE wrestling but what happen with Caylee and Jillian or even Melina?

They were tryouts, not gut check, theres a bit of a difference between the two.

No idea who she is but you missed one, Xuxa something or other in the bracket with Mia & Epiphany I believe.
Thanks for posting this, women wrestlers need all the support they can get from their own, what with the average voter likely to completely ignore a woman’s name on the ballot. Looks like next round will be 16 brackets of 3 which hopefully will allow at least a couple of these women to make it into the top 16.

Okay guys so if no one has been paying attention to te brakcet races, this contest has become rigged to a point where I doubt TNA can properly explain their shenanigans anymore. I know voting is unlimited now (hint hint, vote for as many females as you can if this is true), but to have people who have say 3000 points gain over 7000 votes and have 10000 in total in less than 10 hours is beyond ridiculous.
TNA messed up again it seems, and I dont feel bad just for the women in the contest, but everyone contestant since those who dont win ended up being screwed due to unlimited voting and rigged shenanigans, and those who do advance due to these events since they never would have won fairly.
But I say if TNA is gonna be like this, we should too. So if we can, we should all vote for as many women as we possibly can, including LuFisto (now 4th) Athena (somewhere in the middle) and anyone else in the contest. If now, maybe we can at least have an article about these shenanigans?
