On this day in history:
February 3rd, 2011 | Mickie James and Sarita wrapped up their hands in preparation for a unique Knockouts bout: a Taped Fists match. Mickie was confident about her chances, citing her experience with bar fights. Plenty of punches were traded during the match, and soon Mickie’s left hand became a weak point. Sarita focused on it, looking to take her down that way, but that couldn’t stop Mickie: a sharp right hook to the side of Sarita’s head knocked her out cold. The referee called a K.O., and just like that, Mickie won the match without even covering her opponent.

On paper this was a dream match. Problem is the stipulation was needless and proved to be counterproductive to the extensive talents of both ladies. Sarita still deserved to be a larger component of the Knockouts division, though. Thinking about it, she missed her spot thanks to the arrival of two former WWE Divas in Victoria, then Mickie James.
