trish-victoria-taraTNA Knockout Tara has given her seal of approval to former WWE colleague Trish Stratus, who was announced recently as a Hall of Fame inductee.

The pair had many battles during their time in the company when Tara competed as Victoria, and it seems Trish hasn’t forgotten the rivalries she’s had along the way that helped her earn the nod.

The former Women’s Champion reached out to her friend to thank her for helping her get inducted, reveals Tara in an interview with Examiner.

She said: “Oh she so deserves it! I am going to be honest with you, I wish I could induct her. I was in WWE. I am proud to be a part of WWE history, and now I am with TNA, there is no rivalry between companies for me. I love both companies but I am super proud of her, she deserves it for ‘the Golden era’.

“She also reached out and called me and said thank you, you helped me be inducted because we had hellacious matches. That’s a true professional, she appreciates who got her there. I would love to be there, but I don’t know how both companies would feel. Honestly, I am super proud. I love her, we are best friends.”

That Trish, always a class act!

Aww, Tara and Trish are so sweet and Tara is right. Trish deserves this induction. She’s earned it. Tara probably won’t be the one to induct Trish but I hope she gets to go to the ceremony to watch her induction. I miss these two in WWE. They had great matches together. Can’t wait to watch Trish’s induction. :)

The sites r reporting that its lita who will induct her as its trish who picked her (its just a rumour) it would be cool for jazz ivory jackie lita victoria mickie molly to induct her

I would love to see Victoria in the crowd applauding Trish. Makes me wonder who else Trish called to thank! Jackie!

    AJFan95 Reply:

Me too. I would LOVE to see Trish acknowledge the Golden Era girls and even get close-ups on all the girls there as they’re applauding.

Absolute class acts. Two of my all-time favorites and I really Lisa Marie is able to attend along with Ivory, Molly, Jacqueline, Stacy, Jazz, Torrie, and Mickie.

  5. Trish Stratus class act, tough little soldier, brave. Love Trish and Tara I still remember watching the Stratusfaction Garanteed DVD and watching them talk about their matches and injuries and how proudly they said things such as ‘black eyes, chipped tooth, bloody nose’

I’m sure Trish also thanks Jackie Moore, Jazz, and Molly Holly.
Would be damn awesome of Trish to shout out Tara during her HOF speech haha

Way to rock Trish! Was an awesome ride as glad I got to live it! :)

whether it was kayfabe or not, i became upset when i read the comments of “Pryme Tyme” Amy Lee about Trish Stratus’ induction..

there are a lot of things to consider in Trish’s induction. i do agree that many women should’ve gone in before Trish but for the likes of Miss Elizabeth and Luna Vachon, the fact that they died of intoxication or drug abuse makes it harder for the company to induct them.. i’m not sure if some men who died because of drug use somehow got in the HoF but that’s the point, the WWE doesn’t really put the females in the same category as the men so why are we expecting them to induct women on the account that they’ve inducted men who’ve had unfortunate deaths? remember that the WWE is PG now and what would the people say when they find out about the anomalies?

plus, maybe Luna or Miss Elizabeth’s families were contacted already and they refused?

and what would Trish have done to the invitation? say no? as if she’s that big of a deal to the general fans that the latter would write to the WWE in huge amounts of hate mail much like they did for Mr. Bruno Sammartino when he was excluded in one of the first induction ceremonies? and if Trish said no, do you think that would set in nice to the WWE and ask her again next time.? sheesh.. sorry, rant over..

so glad Victoria sees the positive in things..

let’s just be happy another woman is entering the HoF.. :)

    jonboi Reply:

Are u kidding probably half the people in the HOF were on drugs I don’t think that’s why wwe are keeping luna miss elizabeth out I also wouldn’t like to speculate on why there not in yet but I’m sure they will go in soon

    Popo Amascual Reply:

that’s what i was trying to say.. that if most the guys in the HoF were on drugs, how fortunate enough are the women for them to be getting the same special treatment as those guys.? i read in my most sites that the drug abuse of both which led to their passing is somewhat the reason why they aren’t in the HoF yet.. but if that isn’t the reason then there must probably be something really big.. MAYBE, just maybe their respective families are blaming the WWE for their loved-ones deaths and they are not willing to accept the honor.? just MAYBE..

    Popo Amascual Reply:

*i read in most (not my most) and *loved-ones’ .. :)

    charovnica Reply:

The order of the inductees doesn’t mean one did more for the company than the other.Trust me Elizabeth’s legacy is still there, people still remember. It’s only a matter of time.

    BillyGP Reply:

Liz wont be inducted because of her relationship with Savage.

Trish is the first women from the Divas era and like said deserves to be in the Hall like her or not.

What an class act Trish is and Lisa at that.

    Popo Amascual Reply:

    @CHAROVNICA
i am not worried that Miss Elizabeth’s legacy would be damaged because of Trish’s induction.. i am also not reading too much into the order of the induction that’s why i am not bothered by Trish going into the Hall of Fame before others who were in the company before her.. i posted this comment because i got upset at what Amy Lee had to say. it’s her opinion, i know, but i just want to share my thoughts as well and probably explain why Luna Vachon or Miss Elizabeth are not yet in the HoF.. hoping it would make the issue clear as to why others have pending inductions.. :)

    Popo Amascual Reply:

I got this from another site’s reader:

“Much like the Owen Hart situation where his widow Martha won’t consent to his HoF induction, Miss Elizabeth’s family (especially her mother) blames the wrestling biz for her death.”

just wanted to point that out.. :)

    DjayDay Reply:

As much as I would have loved to see Liz go in, it’s saddens me that it won’t happen. I always thought Liz should have gone in, not Sunny. Don’t get me wrong, Sunny was great in her prime, but the emotional investment fans had in her, even her running down to the ring to finally stick it to Sherri, very few women got that reaction, she should be in there. Kinda why I get Trish going in. Regardless of there ability, it’s the impression and their body of work, that should induct them in. Like Shawn Michaels, sure he was a major douchebag, but in the ring and on the mic, very few can touch him

    Popo Amascual Reply:

oh, and those half the people might not have died because of their drug usage alone (unlike the other two i’ve mentioned .. :) i’m not sure about this..haha..

    Jake Reply:

I’ve never understood people’s logic behind wanting certain women go before Trish. No Hall of Fame goes in chronological order and none ever will. Nobody complains that Moolah went in before Mae Young, the women who actually trained Moolah.

    Popo Amascual Reply:

    @JAKE
i agree wholeheartedly.. it’s always been about the lasting impression you’ve left within the company or with fans.. i’m not doubting the contributions of other women before Trish but just because she was given the invitation today doesn’t mean the others won’t get their time soon.. it’s all a matter of when the circumstances would be right for both parties (the families of Ms. Vachon and Miss Elizabeth, and the WWE)

    ItsRayVolution Reply:

Oh please, Amy Lee was probably just being bitter and Jealous of Trish’s success…something she never really had :/

    redsandman99 Reply:

While I don’t think it matters who goes in when, I can’t say I agree with the jealous argument. From what little I know of Amy Lee’s career I know she and Luna used to team up so you know she’s probably speaking from the aspect of having been Luna’s friend. Of course she wants her to go in or think she should have already gone in.

I still say Trish & Victoria’s feud was truly THE highest point this division has ever seen. They took it to a level that has yet to be topped in the WWE. People always give the Trish/Lita feud more credit, but I don’t think it really came close to this one.

    Popo Amascual Reply:

i agree.. where matches are concerned, Trish/Victoria ones were more vicious and realistic.. but the undeniable star power of both Trish and Lita has made their feud more memorable to fans.. not only that, the history behind their feuds and team-ups also made the fans invested to such a point that whenever they went back to feuding or tag-teaming, the fans instantly knew where they left off and start from there with such refreshed interest..

    redsandman99 Reply:

I loved the Trish/Victoria feud. I think it was as Popo said though and Trish vs Lita has that more star quality to it so that’s the main thing fans remember. It also cluminated in big ways over the years, with those two being the only all divas match to main event Raw (and Lita’s big title win ater her hellish year) and then Trish’s fairy tale ending at Unforgiven a few years later.

    Popo Amascual Reply:

it would come as a surprise though, that most Trish/Lita matches consisted of basic moves that had an extra flair added into them (except the main event they both shared).. the Trish/Victoria matches had the stipulations (Street Fight, Hardcore rules, No Disqualification) adding to the spice. plus the raw violence and intensity.. one had more energy, the other had more passion..

    AJFan95 Reply:

Basically what Popo said. Trish/Victoria was more vicious and did finally put the girls on the mapas far as getting taken more seriously as a whole, but Trish/Lita is THE feud. The hype, the segments, the chemistry, the total opposite personas. Sure most of their matches were basic, but Trish/Lita had this fire to it that no other feud has ever touched. Trish/Victoria comes in at second for me though.

    Popo Amascual Reply:

yes, think of it this way, even before women’s wrestling mattered as much as when the Golden Era of WWE Women’s started, people were already eating up the Trish/Lita feud.. but what made the division serious was the Trish/Victoria feud.. :)

  8. k2evecrew

Tara was always a class act, people always mention Trish’s feud with lita but forget about the one that made Trish a true underdog . That hardcore matchh they had back in the begining of her career was epic !ugh i miss the days of the attitude era where we had ladies hitting each other trash cans .I hope Tara gets to be in the audience while she’s inducted & gets her chance one day (probably after she retires for good). Her & Mickie must be really happy for her.

    Popo Amascual Reply:

the great rehash of Samson vs Goliath.. :) Trish and Lita was more of the clash of the Yin and the Yang representations..haha.. i’d love for Victoria and Mickie to get into the HoF soon as they both left their marks in the division.. :)

  9. well she deserves it but not before the women who paved the way & changed the game that trish enjoyed….

    Popo Amascual Reply:

correct, however, we cannot choose who the WWE includes in the HoF.. if you read in the above section, i’ve mentioned why possibly some women have not yet been inducted yet.. :) also, it was mentioned that it doesn’t matter when you get inducted because what matters most is that you will and that the fans respect you with or without this accolade.. :) besides, as what Kung-Fu Panda 2 taught its viewers (LOL), your past doesn’t really make that much big of a deal, what matters is what you do to yourself right now.. and what Trish did, not to mention what she did that had more of an impact (imo), during her time is enough for her to merit an award.. :)

    art Reply:

its all politics & it annoys me…i bet maria menounos get inducted before divas like beth, victoria, mickie, lita…

    AJFan95 Reply:

And? That’s something that Trish excelled at, as well as improving to be a good wrestler, great personality, and the best diva in history. Sure other women may have deserved to go in before, but it’s not like Trish is not worthy of going in seeing as how she’s the face most people think of when you mention women’s wrestling.

    Kessuki Reply:

i think only one female celebrity deserves HOF and that’s cyndi and i would not complain if she got it before other divas that made a big mark in the past two decades.

    Jake Reply:

Why does it matter who gets inducted before who? If WWE went the route of inducting people who paved the way chronologically , barely anybody would be alive to accept their Hall of Fame ring. We would still be stuck in the 1950s.

    BillyGP Reply:

Trish also paved the way for many women today and just because Trish is in before Madusa or Luna or Liz dont mean they wont get their time hopefully. But alot of it like with Liz and Luna deals with family.

  10. The thing about the HoF is that not everyone gets to go in. It sucks, but there is no reason to piss all over someone for achieving something that they most definitely earned.

I love Luna Vachon. I think she was underrated and that promo she cut about Sable not knowing what it was like to be ordinary or ugly made me cry, but she didn’t do anything to be in the WWE HoF. I love Terri Runnels and she was my fave of the blonde trio of the nineties, but she doesn’t deserve to be in the HoF. Does Sable? Heck yes. For all we know, Sable declined, as she prefers to not be in the spotlight anymore and would like to pretend her WWE career never happened. One of the things that she & Brock agreed upon when they got together was that they get away from WWE. She also has two small children & a grown daughter. Maybe she looks @ her WWE past with the body paint and the nudity and doesn’t feel the way she did before about it. We don’t know.

However, there’s no reason to get uptight that it’s Trish’s turn. She is the most decorated Diva in history. She deserves this. I think what Victoria said about her was very sweet. I hope she can buy a ticket and enjoy the night with her friend, even if she doesn’t get shown on camera, same with Mickie James. I hope Ivory, Molly and Jackie Moore raise money and rent an RV to get there like they did for Trish’s wedding. It’s so sweet how close they are, even still.

    Ace Of Base Reply:

I disagree about Luna. She most certainly deserves it without question. It is a damn shame that she won’t be here to see it and celebrate and be happy about it. Luna along with Jackie was responsible for making Sable seem tough in the ring. It takes two to tango and although Luna never held the Women’s Title, she really does deserve to be recognized in the HOF for her hard work. Her career lasted many years in and out of WWE. She might not have been Champion in the E, but she won titles in other territories. She was a real Champion. Her career spanned for decades and before she was putting Sable over in the ring, she was working in Japan and Puerto Rico, making a name for herself. She had a career long rivalry with Madusa and Sherri who are also legends in their own right. Its okay that Trish is getting in there, but to say that Luna is not HoF worthy is ignorant as hell if you don’t know much about her. The WWE recognizes lenghts of careers outside of their own company so I don’t think it would be a problem. Certainly her family or Gangrel himself should accept a HoF induction on behalf of Luna.

Tara is so amazing beyond words. I met her briefly at a live event this weekend. She is such a kind and beautiful person!! I love Trish too and Im happy for her being inducted because she deserves it. I have to say though I think Lisa deserves some props. Name another woman who has been wrestling for a major organization for 12+ years?? Who has had 3 cage matchs, hard core matchs, main evented Raw and Impact? Lisa will always be number one to me! WPF for life :-)

I mean at the end of the day, yes, Luna was a fantastic person, an amazing talent. Amy Lee, was not necessary. Everybody knows Luna was fantastic, and we all know that one day, Luna will end up in the Hall of Fame. For me, it’s without question. But, if we’re going by who most wrestling fans, casual, will recognize and remember, who had the division on there back, it was Trish. I’m not saying she’s the better wrestler, so I don’t need 900000 comments about “But Molly and Jackie and Jazz were better” yeah, I get it, however, regardless if she was Vince’s favourite or not, she did a lot. I came in right of Trish’s retirement, although I know every intimate detail about the golden era, WWF and before hand I saw what the division was like after Trish, and the after math her leaving was, and I haven’t seen one like it, before it or after it. *claps*

    Ace Of Base Reply:

I wasn’t saying that Luna was better than Trish. I simply said that Luna certainly should go into the HoF at some point, although in my opinion…its not the same with her being gone and all. I would have loved to see her enjoy her moment. She got the short end of the stick many times in WWE and there was so much injustice and lack of gratitude for her good work from Vince and Co, she was actually a very sweet lady. She was tough as nails though, obviously. And I agree about Trish, I can’t wait till she goes in there and the rumor is that Lita will induct her so I’m excited about that too.

    TrishStratusFan Reply:

Is it true that Sable was supposed to drop the Women’s Championship to Luna but Sable didn’t bring it on purpose the night Luna was supposed to win?

    divaindemise Reply:

Luna was scheduled to win the Women’s Championship at the PPV in February of 1999, but plans were suddenly changed following a suspension she has incurred.

    DjayDay Reply:

But what I’m saying is, although I see Luna in the Hall of Fame, “getting the short end of the stick”, no matter how beautiful of a person Luna was, and how talented of a wrestler she was, that does not constitute a Hall of Fame Induction. Being a raw and real talent, does not mean you should be inducted. That’s what that idiot, Amy Lee, seems to forget. If it were up to me, she’d be in, but I can understand why she may not get in, she shouldn’t have to.

  14. Jcott3

Trish and Victoria have been friends since before they got into wrestling, so it’s understandable for her to say something.

Oh I really hope TNA let’s Tara go to the hall of fame ceremony! (:
