On this day in history:
February 19th, 2001 | After weeks of harassment, Lita looked to settle her feud with Dean Malenko once and for all in the ring. She had been forced to accompany him on a date after losing their last match, but now all bets were off. Lita held her own pretty well, but it was interference by Matt Hardy that sealed the deal and earned her the win. In the haze of victory, Matt kissed Lita. Seeing her shocked reaction, Matt headed for the hills. Lita followed him, though, and made sure he knew that the feeling was mutual.

Oh the memories. I remember being so happy when she kissed him back at the end. They were my fave WWE couple growing up.

I gotta say I really dug them as a couple at that time.But I was really impressed by Lita as a performer too.I liked better her match with Spike Dudley though.She was one hell of a tough competitor and people can say how she haven’t been very sound on the technical part of wrestling,but I dare to say they’re wrong.At this particular time she was a little sloppy at moments,cause she was green,later on she did bring a little from both words and the prove is her work from 2003-2004 and the few matches she had on 2005-2006.Also I watched some of her early ouside the WWE matches (including with guys) and she had so many moves you never saw her using in the WWE,she was extremely impressive.
On the kiss part…with me growing older and Matt Hardy getting more and more lame…well,and the fact that I’m an edgehead I dug Edge & Lita way more than I dug Matt & Lita.

My words too.. At the time I was happy for Lita and Matt, later quickly disliked hardy but stil a Jeff Fan, Edgehead, and Lita 4 Ever!!
She wa sloppy in her movements but what girl isn’t sloppy trying to pull of make dominated moves? I dot mi sloppiness at all in fact I love when women attempt moves done by mostly men! :)

@Charovnica – Totally agree. A lot of people don’t like to give credit, but I’m over it. Haters will hate blindly no matter what. Also keep in mind that at a point in WWE, Lita worked a lot with the guys, women couldn’t handle her aerial asernal quite as good. This is obviously because the guys had more muscle and could carry her around better. So her moveset with the girls became a bit limited. Then as Molly Holly said, she came back and was a pleasure to work with because she vastly improved.

I’m sorry but I disagree. Gail Kim has done hurricanrana’s before, off the apron and off the turnbuckle to women. Why? Because she doesn’t require someone to catch her and carry her through the move. Gail spirals through the air without even putting weight on her opponents. Look at her hurricanrana’s on the ground too, unlike Kelly who needs to be caught in a Powerbomb position to hit a hurricanrana, Gail just flies through the air and gently catches her legs around her opponents head.
Lita honestly wasn’t much of a wrestler. I’ve never even seen her do solid chain wrestling with any of the Diva’s. Also sometimes when she’s in someone’s neck you get a fear that she’s going to fall because she stumbles all over the place. Although I think Lita’s sloppy and sometimes stumbly ring work is actually what made her such an iconic Diva. The way her hair was always in her face and she was always rolling around on the floor, or the way her clotheslines weren’t the more precise, or how her headscissors is a little rough around the edges and the way she takes a bump or sells a spot just worked with her whole package, the look, with clothes, etc. You don’t expect a “rocker-type” character to wrestle like Molly Holly, because it just doesn’t work with the look. Jeff Hardy was always sloppy and stumbly in the ring too, even the way he threw a punch, but it just worked with his image.

I loved it when Lita went toe-to-toe with the Superstars, showed how tough she is. She did brilliant here and this is one of my favourite Lita moments. Lita is amazing. <3

I loved it when Lita had matches with the guys;she always looked really impressive. Loved her match with Spike Dudley.
Even though I prefer Edge/Lita to Matt/Lita,Matt and Lita had great chemistry together(and Team Xtreme ofcourse.)
Lita was always awesome and she improved after her neck injury.
In the early 2000′s,she was one of the most talented women they had there.
The Dean Malenko and Lita storyline was entertaining.

Nothing against Lita, but sadly most of DD users will see this match as the greatest intergender match of all times. When clearly women like SDR and Mschif put on intergender matches 5 time better than this crap Illuminati TV gave us.

I think you’re wrong. I’m sure we can all recognize that although Lita is a beloved woman wrestler that is timeless and charismatic, this was not even close to best intergender match. This is memorable because it is story driven and because of “The Kiss” right after. Vigilant Citizen much? I don’t think its healthy to disect every thing calling it a conspiracy. I’m sure you can make a case for it, but regardless, life is what you make it.

Will some good points I have are they totally made Lita look weak like I understand they want you to know women are the weakest gender which is not true but at least she could’ve busted out some flying headscissors though.
