WWE has reportedly reached out to modeling agencies to find new Divas, according to wrestler and model Reby Sky.
As previously reported, WWE had held a camp of sorts in Los Angeles recently looking to sign a new females to join the ranks of the Diva roster and it looks as though they aren’t necessarily looking for trained female talent.
Sky sent out a tweet Wednesday night, stating: “Oh, all you women’s wrestling ‘purists’ are going to LOVE the new diva search girls ! Just love em ! Bahahaha … (sic)”
When asked by a fan what she meant, Reby clarified: “They’re using my agency to book girls for the new Diva Search. MODEL AGENCY.”
So it appears that the possible acquisitions may not be the type of Diva that most fans warm to right off the bat, but there have been silver linings to come from being signed without much experience prior to stepping foot in a ring for the first time. Plus, with Sara Del Rey providing additional tutelage, they may be in better hands than most fans can gather from first impressions.

Didn’t she said somewhere that she didn’t like/want to align herself with the WWE?

Don’t know. She might have said it after they were about to sign her and then they decided not too because there were conflinct of interests (Matt Hardy).

Someone’s been hanging around Matt Hardy too long. Even though I can’t say I’m too excited about this. We did get Eve, Layla and McCool from this, but there were so many (too many) others girls that either went nowhere, were a waste if space, or set the division back. I’m not entirely sure getting a few good workers out of a bunch of not-so good workers is worth it.

February 28, 2013 at 8:30 pm
I think she probably is a little bitter, cause they turned her down, because of Matt,at least that’s what I’ve heard. But then again… I do believe this is not a very good strategy to revive the division. What we really need is experienced indy girls, because if we have only new models turned wrestlers.

* lol didn’t continue my sentence. if we have only model girls turned wrestlers we won’t have many experienced workers that can help improve the division.

Most of WWE’s popular divas over the years were discovered via modeling. Why do people act like this is anything new? And since when did a never-was like Reby Sky become a credible source? How is she knocking WWE’s policy when she herself is a model?
Must be a slow news day.

The thing that matters most as if these women are willing to care and learn the ropes and are there for the right reasons also not by quiting later on because oh it wasn’t right for them

February 28, 2013 at 8:34 pm
It really doesn’t even matter if they become decent workers or not. They end up quitting by their early 30s, anyway. The diva division has always been a revolving door going back to the beginning. The only ones who stick around long term are non-wrestlers like Lillian and Vickie.

Now that I look at her comment, she clearly mean Internet society that non-stop bash her too for the fact that she’s a playboy model and claiming that she has any sort of success because of Matt. She has a dark sense of humor. Also I think she wanted to point out how ironic is that she was turned down, but now they try to recruit girls from her modeling company

Reby has been brain washed by Matt. She hates the WWE and has set foot inside the organization.

I have no problems with WWE scouting models for divas at all, some of the best divas have come from the diva search, and have a made there mark in womens wrestling,
Look at the last year in womens wrestling, two of the biggest wrestling companies women champions this past year were DIVA SEARCH contestants Miss Tessmecher, and Eve Torres, so i think that itself says something!!!!
and i believe full hearted with Sara Del Rey and Bill Demott looking after these hiring of the girls, we will get nothing but the best
and i find it majorly hypocritical of Reby Sky to call these model girls out and calling WWE outing for looking at models as wrestlers, ummm last time i checked Reby you yourself was a model from that same company, so arnt they kinda the same as you, Reby i feel is just so full of herself, which is very sad

I don’t mind models, but it depends on how they are of they bring something else like entertainment – that’s fine. But if they don’t and they don’t intended to up their skills then there is no point.
Maxine – made me laugh and entertained me.
Eve and Michelle – were good wrestlers.

Hey Maxine had good mic segments, She may not be the best known for her wrestling craft but at least she can carry herself well on cam, which a lot of the current divas (main/developmental) don’t posses.

Summer Rae is the latest ‘model turned into wrestler’ and she had great showing on NXT with Paige. Summer is very good since she only began with wrestling on TV just recently. She will have a bright future for sure! :)

I don’t understand the point in this Diva Search crap.
They already have enough beautiful and talented women on the roster that they DON’T USE. Why not…you know, start using them? There’s no need to hire another group of girls.
Besides that, in NXT, they’ve been hiring wrestlers.
WWE gets offended when they bring in a model and turn them into a wrestler and then that model eventually wants to go off and do something else. Well, there’s a reason for that. Because wrestling is not that model’s passion. Which is why they should stick to hiring wrestlers.

WWE Divas are constantly rotating. So many Divas left last year so it’s more than likely the majority of the NXT Diva will slowly be called up one by one. That would leave the developmental system pretty dry, wouldn’t it?

Reby is throwing the ultimate shade.
Anyway, i really hope WWE doesn’t sign anymore models. Some of those model turned wrestlers were successful but 95% of them weren’t.
Michelle, Eve, Layla, Candice, and Naomi are the only ones that come to mind.

Don’t care really. More girls to be ignored and left off of television, yay?
I’d actually take 10 talentless models who don’t give a shit about wrestling and never improve if they actually bothered to give them solid gimmicks, real storylines, time to speak and develop a connection to the audience, etc. but that ain’t going to happen. It’s a fairytale.

Honestly, if they don’t throw the girls on TV right off the bat and actually let them fully train down in NXT with Sara, I’m not going to get angry about it. WWE is always going to have some models turned wrestlers on hand. They will. We’ve had some good divas come in that way and sure some not so good ones; just like we’ve had good indy talent signed and some not so good indy talent.

There are so many talented and beautiful women on the indies! Why not hire them and give them a chance! Actual women that want to wrestle, their dream to wrestle, hard work to wrestle!
There is Mia Yim, Athena, Jessica James, Allysin Kay, Jessicka Havok, Veda Scott, Cherry Bomb, Christina Von Eerie! Just to name a few who can fit wwe standards!
