TNA has announced the date that it will tape their special “One Night Only: TNA Knockout Knockdown” Pay-Per-View, according to PWInsider.
The report states that VIP ticket holders were sent the taping schedule and the Knockouts-exclusive PPV will be taped on Sunday, March 17th at 1pm.
The description provided also explains that ”the true ‘Queen’ of TNA” will be crowned at the event.
This all-female show is one of 8 “One Night Only” specials announced back in January that will be broadcast alongside TNA’s 4 main pay-per-views: Genesis, Lockdown, Slammiversary and Bound For Glory.
In addition to this show, the Knockouts will also feature on the “TNA World Cup of Wrestling” PPV special, which will tape on Monday March 18th at 7pm.
Thoughts: With the winner being announced as “Queen” of TNA, I imagine that a character change could be in the works for one particular Knockout, similar to how winners of WWE’s King of the Ring have adopted a royal persona over the years. Although Madison Rayne is already the “Killer Queen”, she’s not been on TV in some time, so perhaps this could be a way to re-introduce her character to the limelight?

The TNA World Cup.
It was used years ago on TNA with the X-Division and Tag Team Division; team Canada Team Mexico Team USA
But doubt it will be as awesome as it was back then..
However the knockouts always do something awesome and have more diversity so YEAHHHHH!!!!!

Tara was also known as Queen Victoria in her Developmental days while in Ohio Valley Wrestling, OVW. She wrestled the Hardy Girl Lita during the Brian Pillman Memorial show in 2001. I know it was filmed, but have yet to see footage of that one match! I would love to see it!
Also, Madison would be my choice for becoming the Queen, but if not her, then someone brand new. It has to be a strong one though, someone with the skills on par with SDR or Hamada or Jacqueline. Someone truly awesome and intense in the ring.

@JONBOI – Those along with all the house show matches the divas of the past would be such a treat to watch. We’d have alot of good matches to enjoy such as the constant fatal four ways from 2004 and the Japan matches. I’m sure they film some of them, lord only knows why they keep the footage in the “Dark.” We need an insider to leak the tapes lol.

This sounds awesome. Cannot wait to see who comes back and how TNA will book this show. I kind of hope Mickie wins, her character could use a shot of energy. Not sure if she would welcome a gimmick change because it would conflict with her singing career. Still seems like a great idea for a show. Wish WWE would do something similar, and not bury via commentators (ie. Divas NXT, and various other Divas matches).

Angelina Love was asked to return for this PPV and she ‘politely declined’.
They will likely bring back Traci, Jacqueline, SoJo (the OVW connection) and perhaps even Roxxi or Alissa Flash.
Add a possible Ivelisse or Tapa (maybe even Taryn if the rumors of her wrestling soon are correct) and Taeler to the existing division.. Also include The Blossom Twins as they’re in the States ATM and that, to me, seems like more than enough Knockouts.

They need to have a tournament for develpmental Knockouts & young indy girls to earn a contract. Also I don’t see Melina going to TNA. She seems like she is very loyal to WWE. & Plus it wouldn’t be right without her theme.

I wont be too excited until I know who will be taking part. Cause it seems this will be like a Tournament Style type of PPV and that would usually involve say 8 women. They have 7 women on their roster now, add whoever gets a contract between Ivelisse and Tapa, and theres your eight women for the card.
Depressing knowing it’ll most likely be regular faces instead of past people like Alissa, Sarita, Roxxi, Hamada, etc etc, but thats the reality behind it I reckon.

Hopefully it’ll be similar to what was released about it initially, all gimmick matches with an Iron Man or something as the final. I’d love to see a Knockouts cage/ladder/table/hardcore etc. match again, we used to get those all the time. I’m betting that’s still what’s in the cards since they’ll need a solid interest-piquing twist to get the average fan to put out the money for it.
