Tonight at TNA LockDown, Knockouts Champion Velvet Sky goes up against Gail Kim with the title on the line. Who will leave LockDown with the belt? The Diva Dirt team weighs in..
Erin: While TNA is well versed in the art of playing hot potato with the Knockouts Title, I just don’t think it’ll be changing hands just yet. Velvet’s return to the company signalled TNA’s interest in investing in her, and that means she’ll be fronting the Knockouts division with the belt around her waist. Well, at least for now. I think Velvet Sky‘s retaining tonight.
Jack: As much as I’d love the Holy Gail, God Kim to win the belt tonight, I just see her as being a solid challenger for Velvet to look good against. Velvet Sky retains.
Melanie: It seems far too early for Velvet to lose the title and after Gail ended her first title run so quickly, tonight could be time for Velvet to come out on top. As much as I consider Gail the MVP of the Knockouts division and would welcome her reclaiming the title, I’m going with Velvet Sky.

This is how I would love it to go Velvet and Gail give a all out match. Then velvet hits in Yo face and gets the 3 count. Then after the match Taryn Terrell grabs the mic and says she has a message for both velvet and gail. So velvet like what. Then Taryn WACKS velvet over the head with the mic and does a finisher on her (heel turn).
Then on impact Taryn explains shes not TNA’s golden girl anymore she is. Then Miss Hogan or Miss Ray whatever her name is now comes out and says that Taryn is stripped of her ref job and has a match against either mickie or Brooke tess to earn a contract with Velvet as ref and Taryn cheats and earns a spot on the roster by tights pulling.
The following week Gail confronts the crowd saying she told everyone there’s something weird about Taryn and she challenges her to open fight night. Velvet interferes and gets both girls DQ’d
Next week Mrs hogan looks for a new ref and 3 people apply for the job OUR QUEEN MADISON SoCalVal and Christie Hemme she gives it to Val lets face it what does she do for TNA. Which sets up a 3 team tag match. Gail and Madison vs Taryn and Tara vs Velvet and Mickie winners Gail and Madison but madiosn betrays gail and fourms a team with Taryn and Tara
And all this leads to a 3 way match at slammiversary with Taryn taking the gold and starting a heel stable with Jessie Tara and Madison

Gail doesn’t need to win the title here, as clearly the storyline is geared towards building Taryn into an active wrestler. The potential here is interesting. We could have a double turn, and reveal Taryn to be a questionable officiator in cahoots with Velvet, or for Velvet to simply go over after Gail snaps on Taryn. Either way Velvet needs to retain and move on to her next challenger.
I don’t think the match is going to be great, but it doesn’t really need to be with the narrative advancement on offer.
