Former TNA Knockout Roxxi recently made news after telling us she wasn’t going to appear at TNA’s One Night Only: Knockout Knockdown PPV, and now the ‘Hardcore Knockout’ has revealed that was indeed offered a role, but said no.
Roxxi was recently a guest on the Greg DeMarco Show and explained why she turned TNA down. She said: ”You can only get kicked so many times. … I think that I had finally had enough. They had trouble treating me very well to begin with and I felt like I was being a glutton for punishment every time I went back. … I felt like it was the right time to tell them no. It was like one of those bad relationships where you keep trying to get away from it. … You can’t treat people badly and then hope that they’ll come back and hang out. … A lot of the girls I’ve spoken to turned them down.”
Some of those girls she could have spoken too are Angelina Love, Kharma and Traci Brooks, all of whom confirmed they declined offers.
Roxxi, real name Nicole Raczynski, also talked about the pay of TNA roster members. She said: ”I absolutely loved being a part of it. … I loved being a part of history [with the division]. That being said, I feel like they are not sure how to treat their employees. … There were multiple times where someone was working a day job while being on TV. You’re supposed to be an international TV star but you’re having to get a job tending bar or working at a Sunglass Hut. … From my experience I would see that was straight across the board [not just limited to Knockouts]. … They weren’t very biased about it.”
Roxxi also talked about shaving her head bald and the impact Shimmer has on women’s wrestling. You can listen to the interview here.

Very nice interview from Roxxi. If she felt that way about TNA I’m glad she turned them down. She’s gotta do what’s best for her.

That’s because they overpay wwe rejects like hogan , at least they got payed though unlike the majority of the old ecw roster
at
Roxxi got a chance to give them the shaft back

They should fire Hogan, Bischoff, Brooke, the Dudleyz, and the dead weight so they can pay the Knockouts enough to break even. This is bs. And then they didn’t want to cover Daffney’s medical expenses after pressuring her into doing high risk spots for the company. They’re crazy! I would gladly support TNA if they got their shit together. WWE isn’t as great as it used to be thanks to the Disney-esque era they’ve created from 08 and onward. I want to support TNA, but they’re just so stupid. I think the fans would run the company better than they could.

Thank god someone she finally admitted it. Dixie is a typical female boss only in it for money she get not for love it like Vince.
I wonder would she be offered a WWE contract? doubt it she hasn’t model looks and can wrestle so doubt it myself

she would have to get a boob job, blonde hair and wear a skimpy outfit! According to the mind of Vincent Kennedy McMahon!
Vinnie Mac! Your doung wrong! People like diversity! From different hair colors, different ethnic backgrounds, different sizes, etc.

What they dont do that in TNA?

Sure that’s the norm a decade ago, but things have change. There’s more diversity in the wwe and nxt divas locker room than anytime in the history of the WWE…in like ever. Even getting a boob job was a thing of the past now. Can’t even remember the last diva to ever have a procedure done, I think it was Serena but I might be wrong.

I widely really say te main Roster….to me it still looks pretty bland, only Tamina and Natalya stand out there. I would say Kaitlyn but her greeness in the ring makes me think otherwise

Just like a female boss? That’s pretty ignorant. It has nothing to do with gender!! And if you think Vince McMahon is not in it for the money than your really clueless to life brother!

And Brooke Tessmacher is a case of doubling job working. She still works for hooters.

Pretty sure that comes from Brooke’s own personal business. I’m nearly certain Brooke doesn’t “work” for Hooters, she’s probably a Brand Ambassador which is a totally different caliber of a client.

She worked at a hooters in the city of Houston but then actually was more of yeah, an ambassador, also she is an energy sales consultant
Brooke’s got it going on

This hurts my heart to hear. I am giving TNA a second chance, so I hope they learn from their past mistakes with the former knockouts.

Ewwww TNA you are disgusting.

I can think of at least three Knockouts who were working another job (one being a Security Guard for Bloomingdales) while the division was booming, it is pretty shameful and I’m glad Nikki outted TNA on it. I met her quite a few times while she worked for them and she is way to good of a person to be treated like she was.

I mean it’s good that she is no longer in TNA. If she thinks that she does not earn enough wrestling in TNA, she can go indies to look for work. I have no idea how much are they payin indies stars, but if it’s more than what TNA is paying, good for her.
Sometimes it’s very difficult to choose between money & your interest. If what you interested in doesn’t allow you to earn a decent living, you have no other choice but to either work part time or resign.

The Indies, unfortunately pays even less than that of TNA. I have three friends who wrestle independently and they know better than me, when they said to me if I was interested in the industry that you better keep a part time job secured.
The most one would probably make is around $5-$20 per Indy show….not the case in places like CHIKARA, SHIMMER, etc etc which would pay more than TNA but most likely not enough to pay the bills, groceries, car bills….I could go on
Sapphire Eyes Reply:

I doubt she is accepting anywhere near $5-20 anymore. Not after having appeared in notable women’s feds and having gotten a bump in booking fees from being in TNA for a good time.
She’s not getting rich. But then, you don’t in TNA either unless you are a big star from the WWE or one of the approved acts of the people in control. In her and other cases, getting what you can upfront from TNA and then moving on is not necessarily a bad decision.

That’s why I said in my response “.not the case in places like CHIKARA, SHIMMER”
obviously the women’s promotions she’s working for would have the cash BUT still isn’t high enough to have a decent living in life

I understood you meant. I’m just saying TNA is no savior. Not unless you are a preferred talent and they are going to work you regulary. If you are/were just working occasional shows for them but under contract and seeing your other books have to deal with them, it’s not such a sweet deal for people who have already gotten the exposure part out of it.
Depending upon the performer, they have spoons in other pots of course. Like modeling, fitness training, acting, and/or personal signings.

Then isn’t it safe to say that unless you are working for WWE, other wrestling companies doesn’t pay them enough to work solely as wrestlers? (Unless you are a big shot that is)
If that’s the case, then it is totally normal for them to work part time jobs. I mean I understand wrestling is their passion. But when your interest & passion doesn’t allow you to earn a comfortable living, there is nothing much to argue I guess.

I wouldn’t really disagree with most of that. The thing is, Dixie likes to pretend that TNA is some kind of on the heels rival to the WWE. But they don’t walk the walk. They operate more like an indy fed with a tv contract that pays out large amounts of money to a few people at the top (or pet projects) who frequently disappoint.
With most of the other indy feds, there is little or no pretense.

I feel for Roxxi and Daffney you guys deserved better =(
at
It sems like it worked out well for everyone involved. Roxxi stuck to her principles, TNA still got plenty of former KOs and indy women. The spoilers sound like the PPV turned out great and I doubt anyone who watches the PPV is going to be thinking “boy I wish roxxi were here”. I just hope the PPV gets a good buy rate so TNA will do another next year.

Except for someone like Alissa, they largely got people who had difficulties getting over during the division’s heydey, let alone now. Nothing against Sojo or Jackie, but they just weren’t centerpiece type wrestlers in TNA.
I think the PPV and TNA as a fed in general is poorer for apparently having soured relations with quite a few of their ex-people. It basically guts much of their potential history. At least in that division. And possibly elsewhere.
theshadowranger Reply:

I have a hard time believing that anyone is going to not buy the PPV because Roxxi wasn’t on it. Sour relations are a part of the wrestling business. There have and always will be people who are unhappy with how they are booked and how much they are paid.
Keep in mind though, everyone knew what they would be paid when they signed the contract. The pay was obviously enough for them when it was offered or else they wouldn’t have taken the job.
Roxxi is the past, TNA needs to be looking toward the future. This doesn’t hurt TNA in anyway. They won’t lose a single fan over this. The people who are bashing TNA are people who always bashed them and would have bashed them even if Roxxi was there. At the end of the day a lot of fresh faced indy girls are getting exposure, TNA pulled what sounds like a great PPV and Roxxi got to stand her ground. Everyone wins.
Sapphire Eyes Reply:

Two of if not the two most attractive parts of this PPV would be Kong/Kim and a Beautiful People reunion. Both of which were out the door.
Fresh faces are fine, but you have to give people a reason to part with money upfront. And that means effective prior investing in performers for people to care about. The TNA brand is not the WWE brand.
That TNA asked so many past KO’s pretty much contradicts a notion they are progressive thinkers. If TNA is trying to effectively look to the future, why is their directional team made up largely of people from the past? And in some cases, quite the distant and/or out of place past?
And no, one doesn’t have to be a TNA hater to criticize them.

Nikki Roxx/Roxxi is 100% correct about TNA.I think that fact was as plain as day withe the recent “One Night Stand” ppv tapings>not only did several of their former knockouts decline the offer to return for 1 show, but they couldn’t get any real international talent that wasn’t under contact to appear at the “World X-Cup” show.
at
Sapphire Eyes Kong is trying to get back to WWE. That’s why she wasn’t there. TNA treated her very well but she’s moved on now. That opne incident with Love Sponge doesn’t erase the face that TNA made her a star and gave her a huge push.
How can you criticize them for not being progressive when ,in the same statement, you say you want to see the people from the past?
At the end of the day are you telling that you will not watch this PPV? If so is the sole reason for not watching the fact that angelina, roxxi and kong weren’t on it?
I notice you didn’t have anything to say to my statement about prior knowledge of pay.

Roxxi belonged to a batch of original Knockouts that the audience never lost connection with and for that reason alone I never could understand their blatant misuse of her. The fact she was let go to keep the inherently useless Rhaka Khan was insulting enough; I recall the title versus career match against Madison Rayne, where reports are rife that Roxxi was only told about the stipulation on the night of the actual PPV. Good for her that she turned TNA down. Most likely the pay was meagre anyway, and Roxxi isn’t short of offers on the independent scene. Given the way the PPVs were booked, it stands to reason that she had little to gain from returning anyway.
