On this day in history:
April 1st, 2001 | Playboy covergirl Chyna challenged Women’s Champion Ivory, of the self-righteous Right to Censor faction, to her title at WrestleMania 17. In more ways than one, this was a clash of opposites–a decidedly one-sided clash, as Chyna easily defeated Ivory and won the Women’s Title. Chyna would leave the WWE while still champion, eventually vacating the title.
That same night, Lita didn’t hesitate to interfere in the big 3-team TLC match, doing her part to help the Hardy Boyz but tasting the wrath of Rhyno for her troubles. Nonetheless, it was great to see a Diva (the only woman in a match bringing together 8 men) take part in such a big match at the biggest Pay-Per-View of the year.
