“Women of WWE” Documentary to air in the UK in January

One of the UK’s major television broadcasters, Channel 4, will be airing a one-off hour documentary titled “Women of WWE”. This documentary is being produced by James Delow, who hosts popular UK WWE fancast Gorilla Position.

James has revealed via his Twitter page that the show will be airing sometime in January. Screengrabs from the edits and interview shots show interviews with Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Becky Lynch and Natalya.

Eagle eyed readers will see that filming commenced on October 28th and seems to end around Hell In A Cell. During this period, the SmackDown ladies also had No Mercy, so we are in store for good insights.

We can assume that this documentary will follow behind the scenes action as the women headed into such a historic night for women’s wrestling. Viewers can expect to see a close and intimate at a look at some of our favourite WWE Superstars outside of the ‘WWE view’ – different to this year’s 24/7 special and without the glitz and glam of Total Divas.

This isn’t the first time that both parties have made documentaries in the pro-wrestling world. In 2012, Channel 4 aired “The Wrestlers: Fighting with my Family” which featured Saraya Knight and who we know know to be Paige. While James Delow prodcued “Superstar Wrestlers” with the BBC earlier this year, which also featured Charlotte.

The official airdate hasn’t been revealed yet, but we will keep you updated as we move into the new year!

Are you excited about this documentary? What particular event in that time period are you thinking may be covered? Do you prefer documentaries or reality shows? Let me know in the comments section!
