Today in History: Mae Young and Moolah’s “Three Minutes” are up

On this day in history:

July 29th, 2002 | While serving as Raw’s General Manager, Eric Bischoff went through a phase in which got his kicks by having his heavies 3 Minute Warning to attack unsuspecting victims. One night during that phase, the legendary Fabulous Moolah appeared to promote her new autobiography, her friend Mae Young by her side. Bischoff interrupted the in-ring segment to tell them that they weren’t entertaining him. Rosey and Jamal appeared then, attacking the two women. Mae easily got the worst of the situation, taking a top rope splash. It was shocking and vulgar – but ultimately impressive – to see women at their age take those kinds of bumps. Whether or not they should have is another discussion.
