Today in History: Lay-Cool’s Rookie wins NXT Season Two

    On this day in history:

August 31st, 2010 | It certainly seemed like an odd combination when NXT’s season two paired the flawless Layla and Michelle McCool with the serious rookie Kaval, but it was a winning one. The second season came down to Kaval and Michael McGillicutty (AKA Curtis Axel), and when Kaval was announced as the winner, Lay-Cool ran screaming down to the ring to celebrate with him. Unfortunately for those three, Kaval had the an unsuccessful post-NXT WWE tenure – fellow NXT winners Wade Barrett, Kaitlyn and Fandango all went on to greater success.
