Meet AEW’s latest women’s signings

As of this writing, we are mere minutes removed from the AEW Double or Nothing Ticket Party. To call it a banger would be an understatement. The promotion was able to set up major storylines for the future while also giving us a glimpse at the brand’s latest additions to the roster. Which, speaking of the roster, AEW was able to shake up its women’s division with some major signings.

AEW’s last press conference did more to disappoint and alienate hardcore women’s wrestling enthusiasts by giving us exactly one women’s wrestler signing announcement. Granted, they announced a phenomenal competitor in Dr. Britt Baker, but a single female presence did not do much to instill faith in AEW’s women’s division.

Thankfully, Chief Brand Officer Brandi Rhodes heard our complaints by giving us a few more women’s signings at the Ticket Party. Honestly, four signings is still pretty low, but given the amount of talent comprised among these four ladies, we’ll let it slide. Without further ado, let’s introduce them to you.

Upon stepping to the podium, Brandi immediately name dropped two new signees who could not make it to the party: Yuka Sakazaki and Aja Kong. Yuka Sakazaki is something of a young upstart with just over five years of pro wrestling experience under her belt; best known for her work in Tokyo Joshi Pro. Alternatively, Aja Kong is a bonafide legend in this industry with nearly 35 years of experience. Both are expected to appear at AEW Double or Nothing.

Brandi then introduced the world to a woman who she boasted as someone who was previously the world’s hottest free agent but is now AEW’s newest acquisition: Kylie Rae. Rae has only been wrestling since 2016, but has accomplished so much in such a brief amount of time in this business. Most notably, she is the current Women’s Champion for AAW.

Alas, Kylie Rae did not come to AEW alone. Well, she did come alone, but she wasn’t the only female wrestler to arrive to the stage. Momentarily, she was confronted in a face-to-face showdown with Nyla Rose. Rose is both an actress and a professional wrestler who has been competing ever since 2012. While she’s still something of an unknown with no major in-ring accomplishments to speak of yet, she does have an imposing stature and size that makes her a force to be reckoned with.

Tonight’s Ticket Party did a lot to give us a preview for what AEW’s women’s division will be looking like in the coming months and we could not be more excited!

Tune into Diva Dirt for future updates regarding which women get signed by AEW next and don’t forget to tune into AEW Double or Nothing live from Las Vegas on pay-per-view on May 25th.
