    4. Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus – WrestleMania 22

Mickie James vs Trish Stratus is possibly the most iconic women’s match in WrestleMania history. No other one-on-one match comes close in terms of creating a lasting and personal feud on par with material giving to male competitors.

Not to mention the physicality, it was hard hitting and gut-wrenching compared to most of the matches on this list. After Trish inadvertently kicked a ring post, James viciously targeted her leg for the rest of the night, effectively winning over the smarky Chicago crowd in the process.

Trish was at the top of her game here, but the “let’s go Mickie” chants got louder and louder as the match went on. For every nifty spot she could muster, James would counter and prey on her injured leg. Most notably, she countered the champion’s Frankensteiner attempt into a devastating knee slam.

In the end, Mickie hit Trish with her own finisher, the Chick Kick, to end her 448-day reign and become the new champion.
