Bayley is officially Ms. Money in the Bank

WWE’s annual Money in the Bank pay-per-view event kicked off with the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. One night, one match, one opportunity for the briefcase that holds a contract for a future championship match. Eight women competed in the match but Bayley overcame all the odds. She unclipped her future that was hanging over the ring.

This was Bayley’s first time in a Money in the Bank ladder match. She recently comes off of a loss from WrestleMania where she lost the Women’s Tag Team Championship. She was the inaugural champion with her former tag team partner Sasha Banks. Since then Bayley has been moved to SmackDown Live during the Superstar Shake-Up.

Carmella, who was helped to the back earlier in the match due to injury, returned to the match to take out Mandy Rose. Once she took out Rose, she limped up the ladder. Sonya Deville interfered in the match by pulling Carmella down off the ladder. The match culminated when Deville attempted to help her Fire & Desire tag team partner up the ladder towards the briefcase.

As the duo reached the top of the ladder, Bayley climbed up the opposite side and knocked them off the ladder where they came crashing down to the ring. She reached up and grabbed the briefcase declaring her Ms. Money in the Bank.
