Possible women’s match for Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia *updated*

Update: Per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, WWE was still negotiating a match between Natalya and Alexa Bliss as of this morning.

Heavy rumors are making there rounds that both Natalya and Alexa Bliss are making their way to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Women haven’t been allowed to perform at the event since the deal started with the country last year. Renee Young was part of commentary during the Crown Jewel pay-per-view in November.

PWInsider is reporting that Natalya is heading to the event but are unsure what role she will play. According to Fightful, Bliss is also making her way to the event. WrestleVotes has also notated on Twitter that prior news reported that Nia Jax was supposed to face Natalya. Jax being injured has landed Bliss taking the spot.

If women are permitted to take place in a match, this may be the step forward that WWE has been mentioning. Triple H previously stated that the purpose of the deal with Saudi Arabia was to see change happen and instill a cultural shift. Both Natalya and Alexa Bliss have recently mentioned that they would like to perform at a show in Saudi Arabia. We will see this Friday if this match actually does take place.
