Nikki Bella (c) vs. Naomi, Divas Championship Match 2015

This was a high energy great match between two highly athletic competitors. This match may get overlooked and lost in the shuffle when it shouldn’t.

This feud between the two competitors highlighted Naomi’s first heel turn. She pinned the champion twice during prior episodes of RAW. She entered into a battle royal to determine who would become the No. 1 Contender for Bella’s title. It came down to her and Paige which Naomi actually lost being last eliminated. She attacked Paige after the match turning heel and causing an “injury” to Paige. Naomi took her spot in this championship match at Extreme Rules.

After several attempts to try and put Naomi away, Nikki became frustrated. Naomi grabbed ahold of the ropes in an attempt to cause a break, but this ended up being her demise. She saw her title chance slip through her fingers as Brie Bella gave her a swift kick to the face. This was missed by the referee as he was tied up with Nikki. Nikki delivered the rack attack to Naomi to retain her title.

If this was during any other time, Naomi may have picked up her first title win. Nikki was planted firmly in the middle of her title reign and wasn’t going to lose it anytime soon. She ended up becoming the longest reigning Divas Champion.
