Five SummerSlam matches that are a must-see

    SummerSlam 2014 –

    Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon

As some fans may have felt at the time, this match could have gone either way. It could have been a massive fail, but luckily the storytelling around it was first-class. With Stephanie McMahon not officially classified as a wrestler, some were thinking that she would handle this match much as she did in the early 2000s. In the past, McMahon enjoyed playing with her competitors by running around the ring and avoiding any contact with her opponents. This time however she was front and center to take Brie Bella on.

The storyline focused on The Authority and how they were treating both Brie’s husband Daniel Bryan and her sister Nikki. Needless to say, this rivalry got extremely personal. McMahon delivered big spots including a huge DDT and continued to dominate Brie throughout the early part of their match-up. Brie attempted to fight back and applied her husbands Yes Lock on the Billion Dollar Princess. Triple H was at ringside and pulled the referee out of the ring to cause the distraction.

What happened next was the betrayal to top all betrayals. McMahon had a Bella Twin on each side of her and her demise in the match seemed inevitable. Nikki would turn on her sister as she moved McMahon out of the way to deliver a huge forearm. McMahon would profit from the sister backstabbing and deliver a Pedigree to Brie for the win.
