Five SummerSlam matches that are a must-see

    SummerSlam 2000-

Chyna and Eddie Guerrero vs. Trish Stratus and Val Venis Intercontinental Championship

This must-see list wouldn’t be complete without Chyna. This intergender tag team match had huge implications with Val Venis’ Intercontinental Title on the line. Prior to the seven-time Women’s Champion in Trish Stratus that we would later see, this was a time where her in-ring prowess hadn’t kicked in yet. She was far from the Hall of Famer that will be facing Charlotte Flair on Sunday. With that being said, Venis might as well have been defending his title on his own.

The pairing between Eddie Guerrero and his Mamacita was a unique one. It worked though. Guerrero would continuously shower Chyna with affection during their time together. Chyna was able to become a two-time Intercontinental Champion by pinning Stratus which caused Venis to lose his title. She would, unfortunately, lose the title just eight days later to Guerrero in a triple threat match that also involved Kurt Angle. The pair parted ways shortly after.

At the time of this writing, there have been 83 people to hold this title in its 40-year history. Chyna is still the only woman to ever hold this prestigious belt.

Surprisingly this was the only SummerSlam match of Trish Stratus’ careers. That is until this Sunday.
