Number One Contender match announced for the NXT Women’s Title

NXT is moving to the USA Network in a two-hour time slot on Sept. 18 and with this move, we will see a new number one contender. Io Shirai, Mia Yim, and Bianca Belair will battle it out to get another crack at the NXT Women’s Championship. All three of these women have had their chances at Shayna Baszler and none of them have been able to beat her.

Shirai has recently turned heel but she hasn’t faced Baszler since the change. Belair hasn’t fought Baszler for the title since NXT TakeOver: New York. That match, on WrestleMania weekend, was a fatal four-way which involved Shirai and Kairi Sane. Since then Belair hasn’t been in the title picture. Yim was the champs most recent feud but she failed to win the title at NXT TakeOver: Toronto in August.

Baszler will have a one-on-one match against Rhea Ripley on next weeks episode of NXT. This will be a non-title match. This will also be the last episode before NXT goes live the following week.

Yim took to her Twitter account to comment on this upcoming opportunity.
