Taya Valkyrie captures the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship

Taya Valkyrie captured the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship on Sunday at a Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide show, Lucha Invades NY.

She defeated Tessa Blanchard who just recently won the title in August at Triplemanía XXVII. That match had a TLC stipulation that involved a total of seven women. Valkyrie was in that match as she was the last person Blanchard thwarted to win the title. This time Valkyrie came out as the victor as she hits her Road to Valhalla on Blanchard to get the pin.

This is Valkyrie’s third reign as champion for the promotion.

Her prior runs as champion took place starting in 2014 and then her second run in 2017. In 2014 she held the title for 945-days. This win makes her a double champion. She is currently the Knockouts Champion for IMPACT Wrestling which she has held since January.

Congratulations to Taya for her win. Check back in with Diva Dirt for any further news on the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship.
