As NXT’s resident EST, Bianca Belair has certainly made a name for herself on the black and gold brand. As of this week’s NXT, although not officially announced, it appears Belair is back in the title picture. She responded to Rhea Ripley‘s demand to face Shayna Baszler next.
Although Belair has already had a couple of cracks at Baszler and the NXT Women’s Championship. she still declares that Ripley has to go through her first.
Belair recently spoke with Ryan Satin for Pro Wrestling Sheet and discussed her start, her prior TakeOver losses, and being a role model.
Within all these talking points, Belair showed off her confidence by admitting that she is the best and that is because of the hard work she has put in.
“Now I have no shame telling people that I am the best and I’m better than you. And I have no shame in that because I know what I’ve put into it,” she added.
She continues by explaining how she feels she is no longer an underdog. She makes valid points that people get to where they are in all different ways. As long as the hard work is put in then that is what truly matters.
“People say ‘she’s the next big star, blah blah blah’ but I’m at the point now where it’s like … I’m not the next big star, I am the star. I don’t want to be the underdog anymore. Don’t treat me like I’m an underdog just because I wasn’t on the independent scene for ten years.
I grinded in a different way. I was in college. I ran track. I wasn’t just sitting at home doing nothing. I just had a different journey than you. I know what I’ve put into this and I know what my journey is. So, I am just happy about everything that is happening and just being on the USA Network. I feel like it’s something we all deserve.”
