Sara Del Rey was once heralded as the best women’s wrestler in the world, so everyone assumed that one day, she’d make it to WWE. She did, however, as a trainer. Bit of a let down for fans, but it was under her tutelage that the wrestling on the women’s side picked up and match quality improved down at NXT. She also recently was made a head coach at the performance center, the first woman to do so. It was the hard work she and later Sarah Stock, Norman Smiley and Matt Bloom did that helped put NXT on the map, and the work Sara did that helped put the women in the catbird’s seat.
