It is no surprise that the MVP of the Women’s Royal Rumble this year belongs to NXT Superstar Bianca Belair. Matter of fact, NXT continues to make their presence known when it matters most.
Belair entered second in the Rumble and lasted over thirty minutes before being eliminated. Fans and peers alike have praised the EST of NXT for such an incredible performance. Her ring awareness came into play all while displaying incredible athleticism. Belair not only put on a great performance, she broke the Women’s Royal Rumble record because of said skills. Belair now holds the most eliminations in a single Rumble with eight.
That is not bad at all for Belair considering that this past Sunday was her debut at the Royal Rumble. Not only that, she’s currently the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. If that is not a sign of greater things to come, then what is it?
For anyone who has doubted Belair, she proved many naysayers wrong by continuously bringing her A game forth. Match after match, Belair continues to build her confidence and build her brand regardless of whether she wins or loses.
Loss doesn’t deter Belair, it drives her. When she gets down, she gets back up. Her 1st defeat from Shayna Bazler at NXT Takeover: Phoenix is one example of becoming better after what was one of her best matches thus far.
Belair is quoted as saying that she “has 2020 vision”, believing she’s the best and who can really doubt her? That confidence Belair carries will lead her to gold in due time, whether it is on NXT, Raw, or Smackdown. It shows through her look, her work and her demeanor. Whether fans think that she’s a star in the making, there are more fans who believe she’s already there.
A moment such as a Royal Rumble performance is what helps build a Superstar. It is a matter of time before Belair really takes off like a rocket. Sunday was just a taste of what is to come for the EST of NXT. The entrance theme lyrics ring so true, “watch me shine now”. All the fans are, and they’re ready for that star to explode.
