Sonya Deville has been coming into her own on Friday Night SmackDown. Ever since the dissolution of her partnership with Mandy Rose, she has received a nice push by picking up a thread of wins in the ring. As more attention is being put on Deville, it appears that she is also looking into other outlets outside of wrestling.
As many wrestlers presently and in the past have done, they have turned to acting in both movies and television. It isn’t a far stretch from them portraying a character on screen since their gimmicks in their current profession is similar. From this, Deville’s name is coming up as a possible lead in The CW’s hit show based on the DC Comics -Batwoman.
The show has completed its first season and has been renewed for a second. The first season had to end early with its production as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The second season is scheduled for January 2021.
The lead actress, Ruby Rose, who portrayed Batwoman has had her exit from the show announced. According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Deville may be up for that role. “Deville, who is repped by Anderson Group Public Relations, is attempted to be pushed for acting roles,” says Meltzer.
Also, in a CinemaBlend article, Deville is listed among five other women who could possibly fill this role.
