Female Wrestlers speak out in regards to Black Lives Matter

Several wrestlers across all wrestling organizations have commented on the Black Lives Matter movement. The human rights movement that began in 2013 has been protesting since the murder of George Floyd by a white police officer just a week ago. Floyd is just one of the many innocent black people who are slain daily merely because of the color of their skin.

The outcry from Americans is beyond justified and the wrestling community is letting their voices be heard. Regardless of race, many have taken to their social media accounts to represent #BlackLivesMatter.

Below are some social media postings from those from WWE including Naomi, Bianca Belair, Candice LeRae, and Kacy Catanzaro. Naomi posted a startling video that left a white audience questioning any prior doubt about the treatment of black people. Not a single white person could stand when asked if they wanted to be treated the same way that black people in this society are treated.

Bianca Belair listed a website that her and Montez Ford have created called The Culture Connection. The mission can be read below in Belair’s tweet.

Candice LeRae posted on her Instagram about her brother that was welcomed into her family who is black. She explained how it breaks her heart that he has to live differently than their other two brothers based solely on the color of his skin.

Kacy Catanzaro posted a video of her own in order to explain to those who want to say that #AllLivesMatter is more important than #BlackLivesMatter. She very eloquently explained that until Black Lives Matter then the very definition of All Lives Matters cannot exist.

Former WWE Diva & Superstar Summer Rae spoke out as well with a message to white people. She also addressed those who are not saying anything during these times that share the locker room with their black co-workers. The ones that have a platform and are not using it to speak out.

Mercedes Martinez has incorporated the start to LGBTQ Pride month along with recognizing transgender women of color who were at the 1969 Stonewall riots and led the charge. She leads this into fighting oppression and BLM.

With that idea in mind to use your platform to speak on what is right, talent from other promotions is speaking out as well which is to be expected. Former AEW Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose commented on her anger. This was in the response of the curfews that are put in place throughout the country.

IMPACT Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace has been very vocal on social media since the murder of Floyd. She said the following:

These are just a few of the women who are being vocal in their stance to end racism. They are using their platform to show their anger and to promote that a change needs to happen and it needs to happen now.

Diva Dirt firmly stands with the Black Lives Matter movement and advocate for a change in society. We denounce the violence against black communities and we stand for solidarity.
