In a Fatal 4-way that became a Triple Threat, Nikki Cross receives a title match after delivering a sunset flip and stacked up Tamina for the win. This number-one contender match included originally Cross, Tamina, Lacey Evans, and Alexa Bliss. Cross will be facing Bayley at Clash of Champions.
Before the match started, Bayley was leaving the ring after giving her an explanation of sorts on why she turned on Sasha Banks last week. She was sitting on a chair in the middle of the ring delivering her speech. As she made her way up the ramp afterward with a steel chair in hand, she attacked Cross from behind with the chair.
This had Bliss concerned about her best friend as the match was about to get underway. Commentary mentioned how much it looked like Bliss was perhaps looking like her normal self despite her relations with The Fiend. It took only about halfway through the match before Bliss showed how much she actually is changing. Bliss would deliver a Sister Abigail at ringside to Cross.
As this occurred a commercial break happened, however, upon returned it was shown and explained that Bliss was in a “trance” as she left the match and walked up the ramp. This made the match officially a Triple Threat.
The three left in the match would continue to put on a solid match until it was ultimately won by Cross.
