Meiko Satomura makes emphatic NXT UK debut

Meiko Satomura made her NXT UK debut in emphatic fashion when she defeated Isla Dawn and put the entire women’s division on notice.

Satomura started the match by stinging Dawn with a stiff kick followed up by a grinding headlock into a take down. She kept up the pressure was a nasty neck cranking gator roll was followed up by a brutal uppercut.

Dawn got a kick in but Satomura fired back with her educated feet and flattened the “White Witch”. But Dawn was determined not to be the sacrificial lamb hit Satomura hit a lovely fisherman’s suplex for the first count of the match. Dawn attacked again with a double knee strike and went to the top but Satomura caught her and dropped her with a huge suplex.

Satomura kept up her offence and planet Dawn with DDT followed by a cartwheel knee drop to incapacitate Dawn before hitting the Scorpio Rising for the win.

After the match Satormura told Kay Lee Ray that she is ready for her.

It was a great way to introduce Satomura to NXT UK. Her entrance gave her arrival purpose and importance while her in-ring performance was strong, effective and game-changing.

Also on the show we got Piper Niven taking on the “French Hope” Amale.

Amale and Niven started off with brutal slaps to the face but angered Niven flattened Amele with a huge splash. Joseph Conners appeared at ringside allowed Amele to get some offence in against Niven. Niven answers back with a nasty headbutt. She then destroyed the “French Hope” with a running cannonball splash and the Piper Driver for the decisive victory.

After the match Niven stared down Conners calling out Jinny. It looks like we’ll be getting Niven vs Jinny soon.

Also on the show, we saw vignettes from Nina Samuels, Aoife Valkyrie and Dani Luna. It seems as if Satomura’s presence has NXT UK reinvesting the women’s division, which is great to see.
