Luna Vachon Passes Away

It is with great sadness that we report that former WWE Diva, Luna Vachon passed away this morning.

According to the Wrestling Observer website, Vachon, 48, was found dead at her mother’s home.

Vachon was recently in the news after a house fire destroyed much of her old wrestling memorabilia. Mick Foley started a campaign via Twitter for fans to send memorabilia to her. She had been staying with her mother in the past few weeks.

Luna is survived by two sons, Joshua and Van, as well as a granddaughter, Lauren.

Our thoughts are with Luna’s family and friends.

She was amazing and her looks also made her stand out. I hope they put her one day in the WWE HOF.

    RIP Luna.

She deserved to be Women’s Champ at least once, especially when other women who didn’t deserve the belt got it.

    Luna for HOF 2011.

    R.I.P :(

Wow, I never expected this, it was only weeks ago Mick Foley was trying to rebuild all her wrestling merchandise after a house fire. I can’t believe Luna never got the success she deserved, she was the first of the real unique Divas, it’s a shame to see her pass.

Luna Vachon was not a diva. The term “diva” sounds degrading when talking about one of the greatest female wrestlers ever. In my eyes, she was the greatest period.

She is the reason I started watching wrestling in the first place and I was praying that someone would deny this tragedy rather than confirm it.

I love how she was always so true to her character. She took the role of the psycho bitch and did it better and crazier than anyone. Her look, her voice, her ring presence whether she was managing or wrestling was just beyond anybody else. Listening to her in shoot interviews, you can really tell that she loved wrestling and she was 100% passionate about it.

It’s truly sad to hear about this, I just hope that she knew how great she was. She made more than a lasting impression on me as a wrestling fan and she will be greatly missed.

    R.I.P. Luna Vachon :(

    @Looking Glass:

Yeah, I read about that. Honestly I think that people with Luna merchandising could honor her memory by sending this items to her family. I’m sure they would appreciate it, even though It wouldn’t erase their pain.

    R.I.P Luna.

Her wrestling will be dearly missed and it feels weird because few weeks ago her house burned down.

Certainly not one of the most known female wrestlers among house hold families, but to a true Womens wrestling fan, Luna paved the way for so many & truley deserved MUCH more success than she got.
It’s always a dear loss when someone you know off passes away, but when you know how old the person died at, it certainly hits you hard.
I’m sure everyone’s best wishes are with the family right now. If only Luna could see how much support her fans and admirers have for her family as of now; I’m sure even this hardcore wrestler would break her wrestling image and lighten our days with a smile.

    Rest In Peace Luna
    Much Love :’(.

So sad. I can’t believe it. Luna was a sweetheart and a real female wrestler. As many have said, its a shame she didn’t get the success she deserved. Truthfully she should have atleast won the Women’s Championship once. This world can be so cruel sometimes…Moolah, Sherri, and now Luna. All Time Greats that passed. I’m deeply saddened. Rest In Peace Luna Vachon, you were a Champion to me.

    My heart is with you.
