Former TNA Knockout, Awesome Kong has been pulled from her scheduled appearances this weekend against Mickie James. The two were scheduled to wrestle for the first time ever this Friday and Saturday, however Kong has been forced to pull out due to an ongoing injury.
Promotion Northeast Wrestling wrote on its Facebook page last night:
Northeast Wrestling regrets to announce that Awesome Kong notified us that she is injured and will not be able to compete on our events this coming weekend in Waterbury, CT and Liberty, NY. We are doing the best we can to find a suitable replacement to wrestle Mickie James.
UPDATE: The matches are now back on. Northeast Wrestling posted the following on Facebook:
BIG NEWS *** – Awesome Kong just contacted NEW and she will compete this weekend against Mickey James. She doesn’t want to disappoint the fans and she looks forward to her historic first time meeting with Mickey James.
