Exclusive: Britani Knight Receives WWE Tryout

Diva Dirt has learned that British independent wrestler Britani Knight, who recently featured in our Five to Watch 2010, received a tryout with WWE yesterday in London prior to the Raw brand house show at the O2 Arena.

18-year-old Knight is something of a wrestling prodigy in the UK as both her parents are veterans of the sport. Two of her brothers are also wrestlers. Knight has been wrestling since age 13 and along with her mother, Sweet Saraya, is one of the stars of Pro-Wrestling: EVE, even main-eventing the first ever DVD along with Blue Nikita.

I’m told Britani’s brother, who competes as Zak Zodiac, also took part in a tryout. This perhaps marks the first time that a brother and sister have received a WWE tryout on the same day.

Thoughts: I had no doubt that WWE or TNA would one day be knocking on Britani’s door, so this comes as little surprise. Not only is she incredibly talented but her looks are perfect for TV. Good luck, Britani! To learn more about Britani be sure to check out extensive profile on her, written by Stew Allen, here.

  • ichiban

I wouldnt like to tell Ricky Knight that her daughter wasnt any good lol

  • Mr. AJ Lee

Wow WWE signing someone with experience. Ya deff don’t c this everyday. Oh wait she has just revived her tryout match. No word yet if she got the deal. Well I really think they will hire her. I mean she is wat they r lookin for. Young, pretty n all that. Su Yung vs Britani Night dream match kinda

  • Spike7000

So they gave tryouts to Brittani Knight and her brother. Good luck to them and I hope both get signed especially Brittani.

I see Brittani getting signed since WWE now likes to sign New Divas in their early 20’s. She definately has the look and she can wrestle too.

With NXT 3 close on being over, I see WWE giving tryouts and releasing people

  • The Twilight Bandit

She’s pretty and it helps she’s been wrestling since she was 13. I believe the women in Japan start training around this age as well, some even younger than that. I wish the best of luck to her, she’s extremely attractive and wouldn’t mind seeing her in WWE or TNA.

  • SherriShepherdWWE

i wonder how she made out, if she did good, or what they thought of her. but it would be cool to see her and Vicky Skeeles in a tag team down in FCW :), i hope we find out soon if she gets a deal or not

  • Mr. AJ Lee

Hopefully if she does get signed she won’t have any visa problems. Does ANYONE know what’s goin on with Jemma Palmer. I mean this is a little ridiculous! They might just let her out of her contract. I mean wikipedia says that she is training but she has 2 go back and forth cause of visa problems. Has anyone ever seen her at FCW?

oh, awesome. even if she doesn’t get signed – which she should – it’s great to see that wwe are still int5erested in hiring new women.

@mr. aj lee, last i remember jemma retired and then unretired from wrestling like within a week via her facebook account. i’m sure if she was still in a contract with wwe she wouldn’t be so flippant about her own wrestling status.

  • SherriShepherdWWE

ya, Jemma has been released, she told one of her facebook friends, that she was no longer with WWE

  • JoshiTom

WWE wouldn’t know what to do with her! I would much rather see her wrestle for SHIMMER.

  • LaceyVonErichFan

WWE please for god sakes sign her. Your new generation of divas are looking great and someone like britani knight would be a great addition.

Also from what we have been seeing lately like WWE signing 2 experienced wrestlers, 2 women who are related to wrestlers and 1 model who is probaly clueless. The new generation is looking fantastic and britani would just fit in perfectly and make the roster look like rookie gold and also she is british, so she has a 90% of being signed because we all know WWE love british people.

  • LaceyVonErichFan

ALSO she is young which just gives her another bigger chance of being signed.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QTvNiQW7K0 If you haven’t seen much of Britani Knight recently here are a few clips from her match with Shanna at Pro-Wrestling:EVE this past Oct 16 the DVD of which is available to pre-order now at http://www.EVEwrestling.com but if you haven’t seen her match with Blue Nikita then I suggest grab that one too as Britani classes it as the perhaps the best match she’s ever had – and who are we to argue – it was something special indeed!

  • Mr. AJ Lee

Oh wow I totally did b not kno that. Thanx guys. I did also think WWE wouldn’t kno how 2 what 2 do with her. WWE doesn’t really know what 2 do with any of the girls. But yes I pray Britani gets signed this girl would b a god send 2 the division. Can’t wait 2 c the new crop of FCW divas.

Yes finally, i pray to god she gets signed but then again cherry bomb had a wwe tryout to, i dont know why didnt sign her

  • scarlet spider

I’m always torn in these situations. If Britani tried out, then she obviously wants to work for the WWE and she’s more than talented enough to do exactly that. However, at the same time, I always hate the idea of a genuine talent going into the absolute worst place for any female wrestler to perform.

  • Aksana

Britani Knight is the future of wrestling, she’s really, really good. WWE would be silly not to sign this girl, I think Britani has a very good chance of getting signed. She’s got that Diva look, she’s very pretty – plus she can wrestle. Oh my god just sign her fgs!

  • Anthony

@scarlet spider…to say going to the WWE for a female wrestler is the “absolute worst place” is kind of comical. Say what you want about the WWE but that is where you are going to make the most money. When Gail Kim left TNA to come back to WWE it was because they were offering her 6 figures and TNA clearly wasn’t. I think for someone like Britani Knight to be signed by the WWE would be the best thing for her career..she’ll get maximum exposure and great pay.

  • scarlet spider

@Anthony… If you look at my post, what I actually said was ‘the absolute worst place for any female wrestler to perform‘. Of course, in terms of pay and worldwide exposure the WWE is second to none in the industry. And it’s only natural that it’s where many women to aspire to wrestle. But in terms of what the WWE actually does with it’s female talent, then I don’t think anyone can claim any women wrestler will get the recognition she really deserves there.

Let’s say Britani does make it to the WWE. The best we can then hope for is the occassional 2-3 minute match, and that’s only when she’s involved in a particular storyline. Otherwise, she’ll be in action as much as Gail has been since she returned.

The sad fact is, the WWE is the best place to be employed a female wrestler… but it’s the worst place to actually compete as one.

  • ichiban

Going to WWE automatically qualifies you for a job in TNA afterwards.

  • fanboy

She’s so freakin pale… I aint familiar with her work… but…. I do hope she does get signed…

  • ecwroh

@scarlet spider: I agree with what you are saying. That is why when i hear that a talented wrestler is given a tryout in WWE, I hope they don’t get signed. If they want to work for the WWE, i will respect that. But if i hear that they don’t get signed, I will admit that I would be happy to hear that. I don’t want talent to be wasted in the WWE. Say what you will in defense of WWE but the wrestling itself in not the biggest priority to them (WWE).

  • Anthony

@scarlet spider…I understand exactly where your coming from. I feel like in wrestling there’s two parts to the business..the passion for it and the politics to it. You were dead on with the passion part, and I was looking at it from the politics point of view

  • ecwroh

I meant “is not the biggest”. Damn at not having editing.

  • LadyGoDiva

I’m surprised to hear but am crossing my fingers that she gets signedshe has potential and would like ot see her in the WWE hopefully.
