Jackie auditions for Tough Enough 2

And so it begins… all over again. First off, I cannot thank all those at Diva-Dirt.com for the weekly opportunity to express my thoughts on the latest rendition of Tough Enough! I also want to wish each and every one of the contestants the best of luck with this endeavor and hope that they really enjoy the ride because it happens in a blink of an eye and is one hell of a roller coaster ride!

I encourage all of you who are following the show – and just the avid wrestling fans that you are – to comment on your thoughts about the series being “revived,” as without fan appreciation, where would the world of pro wrestling be?

Where to even begin? I can honestly say that I’m super excited for the return of the series that brought me so much in my life thus far. I was captivated by the first few minutes of the episode to follow the entire series as simply a fan. ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin makes the absolute perfect host (nothing against ya, “Big”), concise and to the point, I must have said “Did he actually say that?” two dozen times during the show but this is what will really attract such buzz and following for the series. His “no bullshit” attitude should not be downplayed for a second, and each and every one of those contestants really needs to understand what it is that they are getting themselves into; until you actually live it, you have no idea what a ride the world of WWE and pro wrestling as a whole will take you on.

Jackie learns to take a bump during the first episode of her season. No head-dive here!

Whether it actually is Stone Cold that makes the decisions for the cuts (or if it’s underlying production and WWE), the right decision was made to get rid of the weakest link, in my eyes. Sorry Ariane, nothing personal at all. I just really think she does not exude the all-around strength – inside and out – to carry her to be a successful powerhouse in the WWE, which is what Vince is ultimately looking for whether it be in the future male or female WWE Superstar.

Trish Stratus, Booker T and Bill Demott (although I can’t believe I am watching Tough Enough without Al Snow, boohoo) will make tremendous trainers throughout the season, as each of them has so much to share with the contestants. As a woman in the business, emulating the success of Trish is something that the ladies should soak up as much as possible. Booker T’s success speaks for itself and he is just such a wealth of knowledge of what it takes to be a huge name within the WWE. And as long as Bill keeps Jeremiah’s – and his teeth – intact, and keeps reminding Michelle of her 11 year seniority, then he’s got my support! (I think Jeremiah is going to be my early favorite – he’s got spunk, size, respect and seems to have a knack for inside the ring… or at least what “reality television” portrayed)!

As always, thanks for everyone’s support out there following this blog, professional wrestling and reality television as whole; for without the combination, I would certainly not be where I am today and blessed with such a tremendous family. Kinda funny how life comes full circle, as one thing always dares to hold true in wrestling and my life – never say never, anything is possible if you want it badly enough, if you are truly ‘Tough Enough’ to go and get it!

I like Tough Enough a lot. If they would’ve made NXT somewhat like this it would have gotten more views.

  • JJ

Yey, a blog! I much prefer reading blogs.

Nice read. I too think Jeremiah is one to look out for. If he doesn’t win I think he’ll get an FCW contract.

Nice Blog. I really like Tough Enough
Thanks DIva Dirt for Uploading it in HD lol

And I really enjoyed NXTHREE…despite being a “horrible” show it was a lot of fun and all girls seemed to enjoy it and got to showcase their skills in the ring!
Plus gave several other divas time to shine namely The Bella twins Naomi and AJ Lee

Why would you go on a wrestling show and know nothing about wrestling?? Why wouldn’t you brush up on old footage if this is a “new passion” of yours????? Or even do some conditioning training to give yourself the upper hand??? Because you think you will get by on your snappy charm? belch! GOOD JOB getting her butt out of there!!!
Beside that, I thought the show was great. I like Austin’s no BS attitude! Little too much over production though. Really, Austin coming in on a motorcycle?? too much. Get rid of the fluff. We want to see them eating their butts handed to them!!!

@sweetkookie, this past week on raw during the contestant intros, half the ladies said they should be divas because they’re sexy/pretty/cute, etc. unfortunately people seem to actually be buying into the way wwe represents women these days. it’s a shame. perhaps that is why some didn’t feel the need to school themselves on wrestling when apparently all you need to become a diva is look good?

nice blog i do agree that the right person was axed i wonder what jackie thinks of Ariane getting a fcw contract…too me if i was going into something i had no clue on i would do some research, what matches,if i had enough time before the show workout & if their was enough time get afew weeks of training in somewhere…its actually not that hard to do..

Al Snow is in TNA now, so obviously he cant appear on Tough Enough lol. Nice blog, enjoyed reading it Jackie, obviously Ariane was the right choice to be axed. I loved how Bill DeMott thought it was his own fake teeth that were knocked out..

Actually Electric, Al Snow is working with OVW as a wrestling psychologist or something along those lines.

I’m enjoying the new season, in a way I’d have liked some surprise like with the original series where they cut 20 people down to 10, but on the opposite end of the spectrum, it does speed the proccess up and allow you to get to know the contestants quicker. I really wanted to see the mic-challenge they had in the original series though, just to see how they were.

I was an Ariane fan, some say she should’ve been axed because of her lack of wrestling knowledge, however how many Divas today really entered the company because they were wrestling fans? I just think it’s a long-term fan conception that wrestlers should all be wrestling fans to become wrestlers so there’s this ‘dreams can come true’ element, I’m not saying that’s wrong but at the same time, loads of people enter companies these days for the cheque. If you were offered an incredible ammount of money at something you weren’t good at but were offered training to improve on, would you turn it down?

Early impressions, I’m going against the majority with Jeremiah, I find him a bit of a lackey, clinging onto Luke’s coat-tails. Michelle annoys me, she has this really false passion about her, with her 11 years experience lines, which she banged on about to everyone else but only told the cameras that she forgot most of it and was essentially a rookie, also I just don’t see her a Diva material.

My early favourites are Luke (despite his ego) Andy, Matt and Martin, I think they have Superstar looks, I’ll have to wait on the actual wrestling aspect. I don’t feel I saw enough bar running ropes to make a judgement on that. I was surprised by Ivelisse on the rope challenge, thought she’d do a lot better, however I like how she’s actually not mentioned her wrestling past unlike Michelle. Rima just seems like she was there to put a bit of entertainment in, just throwing things around in the house, although Mickael was pretty much a douche for what he said. I loved how he was sat there saying how women get places with T&A with a macho pride, but was financially dependent on his wife. I’d like to see Erik go next, he seems another sob-story waiting to explode and that might work on American Idol, but I’d rather not see the same old thing repeated in TE.
