NEW YORK – May 16, 2011 – Union Square Agency (USSE Corp., Pink OTC Symbol: UCRP) today announced an all encompassing partnership agreement with Wrestlicious, an American all-female professional wrestling promotion.
This agreement is a 360 degree deal that leverages the best of both companies and should be the first of many future projects together. Union Square Agency will provide sponsorship sales, television production, syndication, media sales, event extensions, venue selection, strategic partnerships and manage licensing and merchandising.

In 2010, Wrestlicious launched their critically-acclaimed, Tampa-based female pro-wrestling series “Wrestlicious TakeDown”. Wrestlicious has a letter of intent from a Viacom-owned cable network to broadcast all-new episodes of the series in 2011 and Union Square Agency will oversee production. “Wrestlicious TakeDown” is the first action/comedy television program produced by Wrestlicious LLC, founded in 2008, which aired on Dish Network, via MAV TV in the United States and Bite TV in Canada, as well as in syndication.  It features sketch comedy, on-location beach segments, music videos and other non-traditional components in addition to exciting wrestling action performed by ring veterans in colorful, over-the-top characters. www.wrestlicious.com

Johnny Cafarella, Wrestlicious Co-Executive Producer said “We are thrilled to partner with Union Square Agency to take Wrestlicious to the next level. This is a perfect fit given their positioning as a lifestyle agency and proven ability to grow properties.”

MTV will have wrestlious on starting this coming fall thay will have more wrestling this time for season 2

  • Mikas

Good news. Their production was kinda bad, hopefully this new production company can make improvements. I hope for a better looking ring, and better commentating. Those 2 things could improve their product a lot.

  • wl75

They were talking to MTV2, so I suspect that’ll be where it ends up (it sorta fits in with other stuff they’re doing- live LFL games for example)…

  • SherriShepherdWWE

i got my hopes up for the first one, way to much,, and i was extremely disappointed and i dont think i will be getting my hopes up for season 2, unless they build storylines and cut there roster in half lol, there is no need to have like 40 or 50 women haha

  • darkangels

^ their was only 16 female wrestlers on the roster 40 or 50?

  • Blowbangfan

What good is Wrestlicious without Becky Bayless (Cookie)?

  • http://www.facebook.com/mikeybicycle Kaledrina

i enjoyed the cheesiness of the first season, it’s nice to have something so easy to watch in-between the taken-too-seriously worlds of wwe and tna.

agree with mikas about them getting a better ring and commentary, though.

  • Lily

I would love to actually see a womens wrestling show on Television.

  • Rhawk

I had to mute all the cheesy comedy sketches and the DREADED announce work from that 1 guy, but the actual matches were the only thing that I watched it for. Although some of the characters were creative, along with them being potrayed by mostly good wrestling talent.

Also being apart of MTV will also give the show much better production, advertising, and wll obviously get it viewed more. And even stretching it a little here, but maybe TNA/Impact Wrestling will take notice of some of the talent on the show and possibly get them signed to the company, since they do need fresh faces who can ‘WRESTLE’, if thats what they are going by now. =-P

I didn’t really get Wrestlelicious, honestly. Besides feeling a bit too girly, it was the comedic equivalent of the Teletubbies. But, any all female export has my support and I do hope it’s successful for all the ladies involved. Is Kristin Astara still going to be in this season?

  • Matt

Some of the matches were actually pretty good, but I agree on the commentator. I can’t believe they actually payed that guy to sit there and shit all over the action. There are probably dozens of people who would do a better job out there and who would pay THE SHOW just for the privilege of being able to call wrestling matches on television.

Also, they need to stop recycling GLOW and WOW scripts and writers. Your gags were never funny, please just stop for the sake of all that is good.

  • SherriShepherdWWE

@darkangels there was actually 37 female performers, and 7 male participants :), and as far as the Wrestlicious website that has not been completed so it only shows 17 of the performers

  • darkangels

i wonder if it’s going to be a hour show? and let the girls use their indy names

  • Evan

I hope they learn from their mistakes.. lol

Also can’t wait to see Kandy Kisses again. :D

  • laqisha

I wanna express my feelingz a bit in here.

I didn’t like the last season at all? Why

1.The main foucus was mostly on the boring loreie lee nothing aginst her its just very boring to watch although I liked that look she had at TNA’s Tryout last year.

2.Stupied Commenator and We all know that.

3.Girls like Haze,Canadian Ninjas, Mercedec, Daffney, Serena, Blake ,and Rain weren’t allowed to show their inring talents all what they do is dirty tactics similar to Madison Rayne’s current Wrestleing Style.

4.Girls Like toni the top, Glorie, Loreie Lee were pushed ahead of ^^ the girls I mintioned in statment #3 so that was a bit of Insulting my intellgents :(

But I hope Season too become more like SHIMMER or WSU if they want more ratings!

  • vonVile

You forgot getting rid of the beyond cheesy promos and musical numbers.

What Wrestlicious should do is steal the Women Of Wrestling format where the gimmicks were a bit cheesy and stereotypical, but the wrestling and promos were solid and serious.

  • Dyna-Mo Chen

What is the logic in hiring good working women wrestlers, then not using their talents? That’s money lost!

Stop trying to be GLOW. Did anyone actually like GLOW?!? Seriously?

Fire your ‘sketch’ writers. WRITE STORYLINE! Stop the Hee-haw humor. God good people you have top-notch wrestling talent in there that can give a damn good show and you can afford to do serious and semi-serious storylining.

If you want some comic relief, mix it in. But doing all stupid comedy just says to the audience that the promotion is beneath the big boys. Don’t go down, work up!
