It’s Official: TNA Has Lost It (Contains Spoilers)

This post contains spoilers in regards to the November 27th episode of Impact.

TNA’s Knockouts division has been on a downward spiral since losing Gail Kim in August (well actually, one could argue it was heading south during Gail’s final few months there too) but this has to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Christy Hemme will challenge for the TNA Knockouts Championship at the company’s next pay per view, Final Resolution in December.

After all the jubilation that TNA wasn’t “Barbies playing wrestling dress-up”, they sure followed WWE’s lead in pushing the inexperienced Hemme as a wrestler giving her victories over the likes of the Beautiful People and now she will face Awesome Kong for the title.

It was reported last month that TNA were to push Hemme as their top babyface Knockout, a replacement for the departed Gail Kim – seems as though that rumour is true. What does it say when TNA tries to be alternative and edgy yet pushes Christy over the likes of Roxxi, ODB and others who have yet to have a shot at the title? I think it’s about time TNA paid a little more attention to it’s booking, just because their matches are good (except when Christy’s wrestling), that doesn’t compensate for the lack of story telling and logical booking. TNA has yet to prove with it’s Knockouts division that it can walk and chew gum at the same time.

For those of you that are TNA-inclined, you can see this come about on Thursday’s episode of Impact.
