WWE Hell in a Cell in Review: Eve Wins at Hell in a Cell, But Kaitlyn and Layla Impress As Well

Holy heck! I haven’t even had time to set things up and this pre-show is making me get to work right away. Jumping right on in with the action tonight!!!!!!

Queen Vickie Guerrero comes out screaming “Excuse Me” much to the delight of Cena and the fans. She looks absolutely amazing in that dress. She’s also getting massive heat and I love it. Vickie claims Cena is mad because he got his hands caught in the cookie jar.

DOLPH!!!

Out of nowhere, Prince Dawlf comes running. He tries to attack Cena from behind but Cena is able to counter. Dawlf ends up getting clotheslined out of the ring, which leaves Cena standing tall this time. Vickie’s distraction didn’t work but this leaves more to be desired. What’s going to happen with these people over the course of tonight?

Hey there, guys! Welcome to another pay-per-view quality review brought to you by your one and only Khaleesi, who is currently in the middle of her name day week. As you can see, we jumped right into the action tonight thanks to the WWE pre-show currently airing on WWE.com. They decided to have John Cena, the Doctor of Thugamonics, in the ring answering tweets and touts from the WWE Universe, and as well all know, he is now involved in yet another scandalous Diva angle! Answering a tweet about Queen Vickie is what brought out our new supervisor of Monday Night Raw.

Lots has been happening, hasn’t it?

Tonight is looking very delicious Diva-wise and I can’t wait to see what happens!

Our first official Hell in a Cell Diva sighting comes in the form of Vickie Guerrero. She is backstage with Josh Matthews. Vickie tells Josh that she does have the pictures to prove that AJ Lee and Cena had an affair and she invites AJ to Raw tomorrow night to defend herself. Vickie is soon interrupted by the brilliant Paul Heyman. He wants our Queen to cancel tonight’s match featuring his client CM Punk and Roidback. Vickie isn’t about to do that. Brilliant Paul gets loud, then admits that everyone is under a lot of pressure, then he leaves our Queen with something to think about. Hmmm.

Interesting little segment. There’s so many people involved around AJ and Vickie now. Loving this a lot. There’s so much they can do with it too, so I’m expecting more to play out tonight.

Looks like AJ will be on Raw tomorrow night to address these rumors and see the evidence! OoOoOoOo!!!!

Things are moving along slow tonight. The Atlanta crowd is being its typical self… very unresponsive. We’re just in hour two though, so there’s plenty of time left.

Queen Vickie is back! Heyman is back and he seems overjoyed that Queen Vickie has cancelled Punk versus Roidback. He is thanking Queen Vickie and reassuring her that himself and Punk will make Raw tomorrow night despite the fact they’re going to hop on an 11 o’clock to Chicago. Queen Vickie is just confused. She tells Heyman that the match has not been cancelled. She also adds that if Heyman doesn’t like it, then both he and Punk know right where to go.

There is a lot of tension between these two!

Speaking of tension, we head backstage and Booker T looks stressed out to say the least. He watched SmackDown just go to hell now that Big Slow is champion. He’s not very interested when Eve Torres, our Divas Champion, approaches him. Eve wants to talk to Booker but he has nothing to say. He needs to go check on Sheamus. Eve ends up running into her foe, Teddy Long, and they exchange words. Zack Ryder comes in dressed like a witch, and of course a joke is made at Eve’s expense. She storms out of the scene saying that she has to get ready for her match. That match is next (right after a Santino sighting, then Vince/Punk segment)!

Goodness… what a nice little match.

As I said in my predictions, the match could’ve gone two ways. It could either be a hot mess of a match or it could end up being brilliant. I think it found a nice middle ground. It wasn’t spectacular by any means, especially with the missed senton ending by Eve, but it wasn’t bad at all. Let’s break it down by competitors.

I loved the aggression from Layla. I think her transition to babyface is getting so much better. She’s found her niche and now she’s ready to roll with it. She took her chances and didn’t hesitate to go after Kaitlyn as well as Eve. That showed to me she’s hungry to get the title that was stolen from her back. So many times babyfaces forget the fact they’re competitors. They just smile and wave, and go through the motions, and it seems like Layla has kind of broken out of that. She’s doing her best to make this face persona work for her and I’m liking her a lot more as a championship contender than I did as a champion.

Eve is a great heel. She might have botched the ending, but in my opinion she was the workhorse of the match. She worked offense and defense against both girls and kind of provided the glue that held everything together. Her submissions are beautiful to watch and it was a fitting end that she stole the win. I love heel champions like they’re making Eve. It adds so much to her character that she’s sneaky smart. I don’t think the WWE have gone that route with a Diva lately. I love it and I hope it continues for a while.

As for Kaitlyn, talk about a surprise. Everything from her gear to her moves worked for me. Talk about someone who has improved. I love this girl. She’s true to herself and was the star for me tonight. She pulled new things out of her hat, expanding her arsenal, and making me wonder exactly what else she is capable of. Kaitlyn is steady and I expect big, big things from her in the future as long as she sticks with wrestling. She has the looks, the personality, and can obviously work. The sky could be the limit for Kaitlyn.

I really think these three worked their butts off tonight and I appreciate the effort. There’s really not much else to say. It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t bad. I really enjoyed the match. I don’t think this storyline is finished and I hope it’s not. Kaitlyn can only get better with this type of push, and Eve and Layla are doing really well with their lesser-experienced co-worker. I like it. It’s new, fresh, and I hope more comes to light tomorrow night.

Also tomorrow on Raw, we have Vickie with her promise to show the evidence she has on AJ and John Cena. That should be interesting. I loved Riddle’s theory on Twitter that it being CM Punk’s lackey Brad Maddox who got the footage of our beloved AJ Lee and SuperCena. You should all know that whatever happens on Raw,  I will be here to recap it come Tuesday.

Until Tuesday (my name day =D)… Khaleesi out!
