Report: Trish Stratus for 2013 WWE Hall of Fame Induction

trishRumor has it that the WWE Hall of Fame may get a little Stratusfaction come April 6th.

Seven-time WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus has been contacted for induction into this year’s Hall of Fame, according to various reports today.

The former WWE Diva — arguably the most popular and decorated Diva in company history — would join Hardcore Legend Mick Foley as this year’s top inductees when the ceremony takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York City the night before WrestleMania 29.

Joining WWE in 2000, Trish’s career in the company was nothing short of a storybook run, winning the Women’s Championship on seven occasions, competing at WrestleMania, main eventing Raw, being crowned Babe of the Year three times and Raw’s Diva of the Decade. Meanwhile, her memorable feuds with Lita and Mickie James are considered some of the Divas division’s best work.

Since her retirement in 2006, Trish has returned a handful of times, perhaps most significantly in 2011 as a trainer on USA Network’s revival of Tough Enough and as a competitor at WrestleMania 27.

There is no denying that the Canadian star is worthy of induction, but who could be her potential inductor? We can’t think of anyone more fitting than her career-long rival and friend, Lita, real name Amy Dumas.

While her induction is not yet official, a preemptive congratulations to Trish, who is also the first ever Diva Dirt Legacy Award winner!
