Today in History: Velvet Sky Puts Her Career on the Line

On this day in history:

March 3rd, 2011 | After suffering numerous losses at the hands of Sarita, Velvet Sky was desperate to get her mojo back –- so desperate, in fact, that she challenged Sarita to a match with her career on the line. If Velvet lost the match, she would have to leave TNA for good. Fortunately for her, she broke her unlucky streak and won the match, saving her TNA career in the process. A post-match Jersey Shore invasion would mar Velvet’s moment, but hey, at least she still had her job!

What are your memories of this moment? Tell us in the comments!

It’s backwards! Other than that….. I loved it and I remember this moment exactly

Sarita was building up a nice momentum as the upstart heel around this period. After this match it all seemed to go downhill. Such a horrible misuse of great talent. The less said about the Jersey Shore invasion the better.

This is when i actually started taking velvet seriously as a singles competitor.

Attention All WWE Diva Fans, It’s Time For Us To Band Together And Fight For Our Divas Division.

Starting March 4th, 2013 During Monday Night RAW. All Of Us That Have A Twitter Account Shall Help Trend “#WWEwantDIVAS”

As Followed By March 6th’s Main Event, March 8th’s SmackDown & March 9th’s Saturday Morning Slam.

I Encourage To Please Keep This A Weekly Thing, I Know We Don’t All See Eye To Eye Sometimes But We Can All Agree That We Loooove Divas… I Don’t Want Our Division To Die Out, Because I Believe We May Be On The Edge Of That… Keep The Fight Going!

Im doing it. But how about we just watch the Divas if DD on Twitter say that they are on?

I can care less because WWE has a chose to use them or not that is there right not your or any of ours that why I support Indy wrestling because it does give these Women a place to learn there Craft and a place to make a name for there self’s WWE is going to do to build there brand I understand that.

      Women wrestling fed’s

and their is others that are going too you just have to find them and support them don’t b!tch about it solve it and Show WWE with your money that Women’s wrestling matter to you.

      • Getdownwithachola

        I agree.

Oh just think if Angelina was still here in TNA, she would of did what she did after this match(: beautiful people 4 ever!! Also this was a great moment in velvets career.

  • Blac Chyna

    she should have lost

  • JillianHallTNA

Angelina Pivarnick signed a TNA contract to train and be a future TNA Knockout. Luckily for us, she got pregnant and disappear. Unluckily for us, WWE bring Snooki as a response to TNA’s Jersey Shore invasion… Oh God, why must WWE copy everything TNA does, even when it’s terrible stuff -.-”
What WWE didn’t do is making Divas that would be as great as Knockouts were at that time.

Match was short just like im remember…i thought sarita was gonna kick out but ehh whatever.

this was the beginning the that sad jersey shore in wrestling storylines for both TNA and WWE (who used snooki not to long after)

  • Getdownwithachola

Thats when they fucked up Sarita for good.
