“Total Divas” Goes Inside the Personal Lives of the Sexy Superstars Who Entertain Tens of Millions of Passionate Fans Every Week and the Newcomers Vying for that Coveted Title

Los Angeles, CA – April 22, 2013 – Adored by millions of fans, the gorgeous women called WWE Divas have earned their places as sports entertainment icons through more than just their pretty faces and red hot figures. It takes a lot of work and guts to enter the competitive WWE family, where youth is golden. This summer, E! will take viewers into a whole new world of drama when “Total Divas” explores life beyond the ring for seven WWE Divas who must wrestle with the challenges of life in the spotlight, a grueling work and travel schedule, and the intense competition for prominence in a career that leaves little time for a personal life.

“I’m thrilled for E! and WWE to join forces and pull back the curtain on one of pop culture’s most fascinating arenas,” said Suzanne Kolb, President E! “With tens of millions of weekly fans at their disposal, these glamorous, entertaining and powerful women prove that behind the glitz of the spotlight, the locker room drama and the jockeying for position within the organization, they are all drawn to one thing: stardom.”

“We are excited to work with E! on the launch of ‘Total Divas,’ a series that will showcase the professional and personal lives of WWE’s multi-talented female performers,” said Kevin Dunn, Executive Vice President, Television Production, WWE. “There is no series on the air that can rival the charm, beauty, larger than life personalities, drama and glamour that this show will deliver.”

The series will focus on a select group of seven women from the ranks of the WWE Diva corps. Five are established Divas who are no strangers to the life, and two are newbies, girls who have entered into the Diva training program, but have yet to prove themselves worthy of the title. Throughout the series, we will see these women attempting to establish their own pecking order, as the new girls attempt to handle the jealousy and pressure that comes with working your way up the ladder for the most airtime, ring time and top celebrity status. With no two days alike and juggling their constant demands, the Divas definitely find time to celebrate their star status by traveling the world for their various charities, appearing in feature films, attending star-studded red carpets and glamorous photo shoots. Through it all, the everyday challenges of maintaining relationships with their boyfriends, as well as their families, in their over the top lifestyles start to take their toll on the girls.

Appearing in the series are the Bella Twins, Brie and Nikki, a pair of seasoned veterans who have reached superstar status in the WWE ring and earned their places in the spotlight. The duo will work harder than ever to maintain this level of excellence, whether the newbies like it or not. Naomi and Cameron are two knockouts whose dance routines have made them stars on the tour. When conflict and success collide head on between these two, will both be left standing? They don’t call them Divas for nothing! Natalya is a third-generation sports entertainment star who knows the ropes and knows them well. She’s seen lots of doors open for other Divas, but often finds herself left behind when it comes to achieving superstar status. Can she continue to soldier on as a perennial “bridesmaid”? And tagging into the ring as the newest member of the Divas is Eva Marie, a passionate, sexy, extremely competitive force that wants stardom more than anyone else. Also joining in on the action is Jo–Jo Offerman, an entertainer at heart, young and energetic who will no doubt be a charismatic force in the ring.

The show kicks off with an unprecedented look inside the most-anticipated WWE event of the year, WrestleMania®, marking the first time that any television series was granted exclusive behind-the-scenes access to WWE. Following the drama, the series heads to WWE’s flagship television program, Monday Night Raw®, with a match between the Bellas in one corner, and Naomi/Cameron (aka “The Funkadactyls”) in the other. They bring on the drama from the very start, and alliances are quickly formed on the road as the new girls choose sides. And with some WWE Superstars vying for the romantic attention of the girls, the drama comes to a boil quickly, and shows no sign of slowing down.

Total Divas is produced by WWE and Bunim-Murray Productions. Jon Murray, Gil Goldshein, Jeff Jenkins and Russell Jay are Executive Producers for Bunim-Murray Productions.

Super stoked! Although wish more of the Divas were featured i.e. AJ, Layla, Kaitlyn and my Foxy :(

    • wwestarlee

Right like eva and jo jo need to go will they even debut on the roster? Maybe eva but not jojo shes 19

  • MickieJamesluvslave

    Good for the Divas.
And now we know why the Bellas are back. I bet this was in the works and THe E used this a a chip to get them back.

  • OJ Von Erich

Natalia Eva Marie is the bomb… She is so stunning & friendly!

And JoJo is cute, I’m hoping she’ll be like Rosita, the spicy little chilli pepper!!! XD

  • Lita-Sault-666

Loving the sound of this! A guaranteed hour of Divas television every week for a few months! The cast is pretty good, I’m sure they’ll show the other Divas as well but these 7 are just the highlighted ones – which is rightfully so as The Bellas & The Funkadactyles are hot right now, surprised Kaitlyn isn’t in Natalya’s place but hey! I’m sure Natalya has some anger to let out off of camera anyway – should be good!

Super stoked, can’t wait. Loving the addition of two new girls too, should equal some additional drama!

  • k2evecrew

I can’t wait to see this but why did they not choose alicia? Im really starting to fear that they’ll be releasing her for spring cleaning. Anywho it sounds like any other reality show which is good because I thought they’d cut the drama out . I can’t wait to see how Caomi interact backstage

  • hellaciousheart

only going to watch it for the bellas.

  • wl75

I do wonder how much of this will be “reality”, and how much will be “storyline” driven (not saying it’ll be scripted, but you have to suspect some of it might)…The vets picked are good I think (I have a hunch that the Bellas might be getting the Divas title back soon because of this- just a feeling)- and I don’t know about the newbies, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens with them.

The timing does work well for WWE though- this starts up 2 weeks after the MITB PPV and a month before SummerSlam.

    • funkyweapon a-gogo

I feel like it’s gonna be more Contrived than legit. I’d like to see at WM when they were told they were bumped off the PPV, and show in the Production Truck w/Vince & Kevin Dunn and all the “Kayfabe Breaking” Moments like the Creative Meetings (like that one time where they showed Joey Styles & Michael Hayes plus Vince & others and the cameras were soon kicked out of the creative meeting). Have it be more shoot than Work, I remember Breaking Pointe a show on a Ballet Company in Utah on CW, I could feel that there was some “yeah this seems worked” moments in the talking segments, 3 Camera angles in a little coffee shop. If WWE can be “shooty” with Tough Enough, they could with this.

  • shameronstar

so is this how they are going to introduce Natalie and Jo-Jo because that’s a lot different than the usually thing of sending them to nxt for a couple of years and than possibly promoting them to the main roster! Also, I have a feeling that Cameron is going to be crazy, Naomi will be badass, and Natalya in a loveable way will be a hot mess:P

  • mscandy

Rosa and Alicia should take the place of Naomi and Cameron. The Funkadactyls can wrestle and need to be on TV more, in the ring.

    • mscandy

Matter of fact, I do feel bad for Alicia. She does wrestle decent but they don’t use her. At least some new divas will get exposure though.

  • Ace Of Base

I’m excited for Natalya who finally gets something to do!

    • shameronstar

The premise actually shows that wwe is aware of how underrated Natalya is.

      • Ace Of Base

I know right? Perhaps this will give the casual fan something to get behind for her and I mean, tons of women watch E!, watch out Kardashians!

    • Raekon

Nattie is actually the most featured Diva already with appearances across all shows and is additionaly interviewer on the saturday morning slam so “finally getting something to do” really doesn’t stick here. :p

  • shameronstar

I hope is this show the reason Eva and Jo-Jo were signed and that wwe wanted to do another “Diva Search” of sorts because if so these new girls are being used as lab rats in a wwe reality television experiment!

    • hbgoo1975

      Jo-Jo is wonky. She’s ugly.

  • ahlanthony

God, Cameron is build for this. She’s a Bad Girls Club type of girl. haha/

    • JamieKym

      Age: 25
      From: California
      Nickname: “The Valley Vixen”

      • hbgoo1975

        How did you find out?

  • Chika

Not crazy about the line up. A bit awkward reading the Bellas described as “veterans.”

    • shameronstar

Yea, if the Bellas are veterans than women like Beth, Natalya, Mickie James, and Gail Kim must be ancient fossils!

      • k2evecrew

The worse part is they kinda are accent fossils now (well not Natalya) . Gail’s been around since like 2001

  • SweeneyTodd

I give this a few weeks

    • Mr. Asstastic

You must be so fun to hang out with.

      • TBP_FAN

    • kristalmelinafan

I agree with you. WWE is going to have a noose around their neck. It will not be real, it will not have inside dirt on who doesn’t like who, and we will not see the meetings or anything. It will not last long because it will be pg and boring like the wwe product. Anyways Oxygen having a reality type base show which features Kharma, Kristal Marshall, Melina, Maria Kanellis, and Kasey Bay. It will be base on women in wrestling, which again diva dirt fails to acknowledge.

  • dukelorange

Heaven forbid that they actually WRESTLE instead.

    • Chika

Exactly. This is goods news is the sense that the women have something if their own. But is still no emphasis on WRESTLING! Now they are marketed as celebrities…

      • k2evecrew

Wwe isn’t a wrestling company anymore , they consider themselves a entertainment company so It would make sense that they’d jump into reality tv

  • French.One

Finally there will be proof the Bellas suck at training too !!!

  • pumped up kicks

Hopefully Nattie tells,us how she really feels being straddled with stupid storylines all these years! I can see Daniel Bryan & John Cena making cameos on the show, hence why the Bellas are there. I wish it was on vh1 instead of E…. We might actually have seen the girls fight lol

    • French.One

You can bet she will be very corporate-compliant on this. She’s already told she was very happy in WWE the way she was.

    • divaindemise

I do think that the show will be, to an extent, scripted. So anything Natalya puts over will be at the behest of what she’s been told she’s allowed to say.

  • Hollywood King

Although this is great I’m legit surprised the WWE is going this direction with their cast! Must be because they have nothing for these women to do at the time.

Notables not appearing Layla, Kaitlyn, AJ, and Tamina.

Where the hell is Alicia? Is she still even with the WWE?

    • hbgoo1975

      Alicia is a glorified supermodel!

      • totallynecessary

        E! adores Glorified Supermodels…. Honestly

  • kristalmelinafan

Can’t wait but the only gripe i have is that Alicia Fox and Layla will not be in it. Proud of Cameron and Naomi who will get more exposure. The Bella’s don’t even need this, they are known. But Alicia and Layla need it more than Bella’s.

  • SherriShepherdWWE

I super excited about this, it’s very different and original and it is gonna be interesting to watch and see how they show everything

I like that they have main roster girls and then some girls who are literally just starting ,no training or anything, so that is gonna super awesome to see

As far as the cast I am a little uneasy with it I think it will be good TV to watch Natalya happy to see her there, And the Bella I like !!!!

The only ones I am iffy on seeing on there is Naomi and Cameron, I think cameron will be good, but Naomi I’m not sure, she is amazing wrestler, but i don’t know having her on the show

Very surprised that Aj or Kaitlyn isn’t on the show, maybe second season lol

But I my favorite part is gonna be watching the development of natalie eve Marie, and jojo, I am loving Natalia already, anyone who gets signed and then dyes there hair so that they wil
Stand out, is serious !!!!,and also I wanna see what they gotta go through as new girls, training and everything

P.s you have to think with them show everything about the new girls, we mighty be getting a recurring appearance in the fabulous SARA DEL REY on the show

    • totallynecessary

Theres actually a series on youtube feauturing Naomi’s days as an orlando magic power dancer during auditions and what not… She did just fine during her moments on the show. Naomi is very real & authentic, I think that goes great with the bigger than life personalities of Cameron & the Bellas… She will be like the Kandi from RHOA of this show…

Im also amp’d that it starts at the Wrestlemania snub…. I was very curious about Naomi’s perspective on it… especially how she wiped out all of her twitter post after Mania

  • i22

YESSS! I’m so excited! Can’t wait to see all the behind the scenes drama. Hopefully the show does well.

  • redsandman99

I hope since they’re following the two diva search girls, they’ll follow their training and not bump them up to the main roster immediately. I also wonder if they’ll actually acknowledge Brie and Nikki’s actual relationships or if that will be ignored. And obviously while not the focus of the show, divas like Kaitlyn, AJ and the others can still make appearances.

  • CandiceMichelle&TorrieWilson

  • MsXxxdiva247

At least we’ll see the divas getting tv time. I’m not a fan of The Bellas though. Layla should have been on this show. I hope this means, we’ll be seeing more divas wrestling on tv. Hopefully longer matches. Maybe some feuds from the show, will lead to something on raw. Not divas dancing, or being a valet. Showcase women as athletic, smart, powerful. Not just a pretty little eye piece…

  • shannymac

“the Bella Twins, Brie and Nikki, a pair of seasoned veterans who have reached superstar status in the WWE ring and earned their places in the spotlight. ”

HAHAHAHAHAHA…did the Bellas write this shit themselves? Literally not one word of that sentence is true.

    • Monkey Tennis

It’s all completely true. Up to the word ‘twins’.
